Five years since Winx kick-started her record breaking run of Group 1 victories, we're back at the place where it all began for the 2019 Treasury Brisbane Queensland Oaks.

A star-studded line up of fillies will jump from the 2200m start at 3.35pm, with the winner (if we use recent history as a guide) earning their chance to go on to greater Group 1 success.

It's going to be a great day on track, with the Winx activation zone among the highlights.

If you can't be trackside, follow all of the action below, including winning trainer and jockey comments, race replays and photos.

RACE 1 - 11:10AM MITAVITE THE PHOENIX (1630 METRES)

Trainer - Mark Newnham

"He'll appreciate the bigger track at Eagle Farm but I won't be pushing him into next week (Group One J.J. Atkins 1600m).

"If he gets through this well the option is there, but if he's showing signs he's had enough we'll get him ready for The Victoria Derby."

"The risk was him getting back off a moderate pace from barrier one, but when you got jockeys like Blake Shinn it makes you breathe a bit easier, he made all the right decisions and the horse was good enough to take advantage of them."

"I always thought he would make a really nice horse, he's doing it probably sooner than I thought he'll be doing his best work as a three-year-old."

Jockey - Blake Shinn

"Getting back as far as I did wasn't the plan, but the way the race was run it forced my hand to stick to the rail i was never going to try to circle them."

"The horse did what it needed to do to win the race and showed a bit of class in a muddling run affair, he picked up quickly when a run presented."

"If he gets in the J.J. Atkins field he wouldn't be without a chance."

Trainer -Mark Newnham

"We'll tip him out now but will probably bring him back for the three-year-old series in Summer because he's  Magic Millions horse and has a trip away under his belt."

"He showed he was versatile today he's jumped and led in his other wins, so it's nice to see he has another string to his bow."

"We may not necessarily race him that way in the future, but it suited today's race perfectly with the tempo they clapped on."

"Another great ride from Blake we didn't plan to race like that, but that's why you put quality jockeys on."

"It looked tricky at the 300 when he was behind a wall of the, but he got him out in plenty of time."

"That's my third two-year-old winner in forty-minutes after Splintex got up in Sydney, I'm pinching myself."

Jockey - Blake Shinn

"Mark left it up to me how to ride him, I knew he was very fast and could potentially lead but when they shot up underneath me I took him back."

"You never really know how two-year-olds are going to react to a new style of racing, but he adapted and showed his class."

"I know Mark has had a good forty minutes, so have I two winners to start Oaks day!"

Trainer - Kelly Schweida

"I was a bit worried when he was a little bit slow to go, but Corey (Bayliss) got him to the top fairly quickly and rated him nicely throughout, that first 600 split (35.23) went a long way to winnign the race."

"He's a funny horse everytime you think he might be fading a little he'll find again and the 1200 was no problem today."

"It was really important to see him get the 1200 it opens up so many more options for us with Black Type races moving forward that he wouldn't get over the 1000."

"Now it's time to sit down with the owners and decide where that best course is."

Jockey - Corey Bayliss

"I had to shake him up for a couple of strides, but he still found the front well."

"After that I could feel him just cruising and once he navigated the turn quickened well."

"So rapt to be able to ride a horse like this for Kelly in the carnival, hopefully I can keep getting it right and find a few more rides."

Billy Mitchell - Stable Representative John O'Shea

"That was a brilliant win today and all things considered I can't see why she couldn't come back next week and do it again."

"She's still a bit fresh only third up and was getting tired late, i actually thought she got beat, but she'll take a lot from this hitout."

"Three-year-old fillies and John O'Shea have a good record in the Stradbroke, she has nothing to lose next week."

"She's a very classy filly she raced agains the best in Sydney in the Spring and this shows her form measures up to Group Two class."

"John said along time ago these three-year-old fillies really like it in Brisbane and he's done it again."

Jockey - Robbie Fradd

"I had a bit of trouble balancing her up when we straightened, I think half her head is still in the paddock she'll be a real shot next week improving of this run."

"John told me anything she does today is just an appitiser for what she's capable of."

James Cummings Stable representative - Nacim Dilmi

"His work here on Tuesday was excellent we knew then that this race was going to be right for him."

"He was probably a little bit further back than we'd wanted last start and travelled too keenly, so that's why James dropped him back in distance and today he found another gear when asked the question."

"The plan is to press on through the carnival James hasn't decided just which races he may tackle."

Jockey - Larry Cassidy

"It was just perfect, the speed was on he just floated through the race."

"At no stage did i have to get trucking on him, he just eased into the race on his own terms and found the line."

"When the other horse came at me he noticeably lifted and got his head down, he knew where the line was."

2nd - Natch - Tony Gollan - Brad Stewart

3rd - Mr Marbellouz - Kevin Kemp - Corey Brown

Bjorn Baker Stable Representative Stephen McLean

"If he pulls up well we'll look to get him into the Stradbroke next week, I'm not sure where he sits in the running order but this only helps."

"Bjorn has a good strike rate bringing his horses North, super to see him run well today and I'm sure he'll be up here next week."

"I didn't think we'd get as handy as we did from the jump, but Blake found a way and he had a little extra in the tank at the end."

Jockey - Blake Shinn

"He's coming back off a Group One this horse where he was far from the worst and he showed today he wants to race and the short backup doesn't effect him."

"It was a long road back after i broke my neck last August and i came up here with the mindset of a working holiday and the success I've had on some of the horses I've ridden is just a bonus."

Godolphin General Manager Vin Cox

"She's always been very very good, she was just overracing earlier in her career and we've just got her to settle which was key today as she got well back."

"I was a bit nervous straightening up, but like he has a few times today Blake got her where she needed to be."

"To put a quality field away in that fashion we're delighted."

"A Tatts Tiara is not off the table, but a decision on that is yet to be made."

Jockey - Blake Shinn

"I can't believe i've ridden four today on such a competitive days racing, it's unbelieveable."

"They went quick today and from riding her a little bit at trackwork and watching her replays when you can get her to settle you really maximise her sprint which we saw today."

Trainer - Gary Newham

"I had a lot of confidence in him today, having the race away from Eagle Farm probably dented my hopes a little bit, but I'd always set her for this race."

"Paul (Bacon) was looking down on us today, to win in his colours was just amazing."

"Paul brought me back to racing when he trusted me with this beautiful filly, I was driving trucks!"

"He's been amazing to me me and I hope we've done him and his family proud."

"I said to Paul six to eight months ago we'll win the Oaks with this filly and after her run in The Roses he said to me you're right she will win the Oaks."

"She's only just scratched the surface this filly, once she's fully furnished she could win the Caulfield Cup this horse."

"Great to give him (Matthew McGillivray) his first Group One, he's stuck with the horse and took a bold ride to get her home today."

Jockey - Matthew McGillivray

"This is what we do it for, all the hard yards getting up at 3.30 in the morning, having a sweat, keeping you're weight down it's all worth it now this is a dream come true."

"I did about eighty thousand kilometres my first year I went to Birdsville, Longreach, Barcaldine, Roma I can't be more thankful to everyone that's helped me."

"I didn't get a chance to meet Paul Bacon, but I knew the bond between him and Gary, I just wish he was here to give him a big hug."

"He was a bit unlucky last start he could have been right in the finish, but today I let go early and made my own luck."

Trainer - Ciaron Maher

"She's a credit to all the team this mare, this was a targeted preparation and you could see in her coat she's in wonderful condition and it's showing through in her racing."

"Johnny Allen needs a mention, he could win on a broomstick at the moment he knows her very well and gave her every opportunity."

"I think we'll put the cue in the rack and target a Caulfield Cup or Cox Plate in the spring, the boys are pretty keen to take her to that next level."

Jockey - Johnny Allen

"She wants to win this mare, we had to go about it a very different way than her Group One, but when i pulled her to the outside she just kept surging."

"She's obviously had a wonderful prep and I know Ciaron and the owners think she's a Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup mare."
