RACE TWO

SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT (8) will be needing a slice of luck from this gate, however if he can get some factors in his favour, he might just have the edge to take this. Taking on a 2nd division qualifier last start, he set the tempo and was in for the fight when only 7m in arrears of the winner HEZA BROMAC. Placed in 3 of his previous 4 starts, he is worth a ticket, just needs the luck.

IM SANDY BAY (10) worked home over the top of them 2 starts back to arrive for a handy win over the sprint trip. Over the 2040m last start, she was working wide off the track and was strong to the line when only 2m away from victory. This is not too beyond her and she can make a closing play.

A BETTER CHANCE (5) resumes from a break and has not been seen at the public trials to prepare. Snagged back last start, she was never in the contest over the Redcliffe 1780m. Buried away from inside the 2nd line the start prior, she can feature fresh.

BLACKJEWEL (2) held the front last start and after walking them through the opening half, couldn’t fight them off in the closing stages when 3m from the winner. Settling close to the action, she can place.

SELECTIONS: SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT (8), IM SANDY BAY (10), A BETTER CHANCE (5), BLACKJEWEL (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT (8) to win

RACE THREE

BLUE SHARD (1) found the pegs prior to releasing here last week over the mile and then using the passing lane went within a neck of scoring. Hitting the line in nice order the start prior when runner-up from the 2nd line, he has placed his past 4 in succession and from the gate gets every chance to take this.

BARBOO (8) found his race last start at The Triangle when sent straight to the front from gate 3. Once in control, he was able to dictate the tempo and cruise home to claim a 10m victory. With nothing to show from 14 appearances here at The Creek, he can rectify that with the economical trip to take the closing shot.

ROCKNTINGIRA (9) sat in the 1x1 trail last start when 7m from the winner. Hitting the line strongly the start prior to grab the silver, a peg-line play might be on offer here and he can be slicing through late.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3) was hitting the line hard last start to get within a head of the winner after positioning on the pegs in transit. Settling handy from this gate, he can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: BLUE SHARD (1), BARBOO (8), ROCKNTINGIRA (9), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BLUE SHARD (1) to win

RACE FOUR

BETTATHANIDEAL (7)
does not receive any favours from this gate, however he looks to have the edge to overcome the impediment. Placed in both the heat and final of a Gold Pot Series, he then made the most of conditions to lead throughout over the mile to claim his 1st Aus victory. Working hard in the early stages from gate 6 in a tougher race last start did not suit. Back to this grade looks ideal.

JOEY LINCOLN (8) was kept fresh between runs and returning to maiden company proved the right tonic here last week when able to breakthrough. Showing some early speed, he found the space to ease into the pocket trail and then had bullets to fire up the passing lane. Needing a slice of luck, he will be probing here.

BRONSKI MACARENA (9) will be further tightened from her latest start when 2nd up from a break. Sent to the breeze from the 2nd line, she fought hard when 6m away from the winner in claiming the silver. With even luck in transit, she can be in the mix.

DANCINGINTHEDARK (4) should appreciate the more spacious surrounds here after her 2 outings at Redcliffe have seen her not look completely comfortable. Not far away from SIXPENNY RED at her 1st Qld start, 2 runs back, she is a podium player in this.

SELECTIONS: BETTATHANIDEAL (7), JOEY LINCOLN (8), BRONSKI MACARENA (9), DANCINGINTHEDARK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTATHANIDEAL (7) to win

RACE FIVE

Another race like many on this card that are tricky looking contests made tougher by the barriers. Despite the 2nd line, MONTANA EXPRESS (10) might just be going well enough to put them away here. Sent to the breeze from gate 6 last start, he was grinding it out when a neck from the winner. Winless in 23 attempts at The Creek, he might just have found the race to change that.

NEWMERELLA MOLLY (6) is a lightly raced 5YO mare that resumes from a spell. Missing a cheque just once in 7 career starts, 4 of those outings have returned a victory. A last start Marburg winner when finishing over the top, she has not been seen at the public trials to prepare, but if forward enough in condition, this would be well within her reach.

MISS LILY MAY (1) should appreciate the improved gate here after facing some tough gates in recent outings. Forced to cut the breeze at her past 2 starts, she will appreciate an easier trip here.

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (7) doesn’t receive any favours from this alley, yet should find this a shade or two easier than recent outings. Down the line in a 2nd division qualifier 2 starts back, he has a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (10), NEWMERELLA MOLLY (6), MISS LILY MAY (1), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA EXPRESS (10) to win

RACE SIX

DE VOYAGE (1) worked forward in the early stages over the 2138m last start to find position. Securing the 1x1 trail, she was left a little fat when the power went on as BOMBADIER JUJON arrived for the prize. Locked away in a mares qualifier the start prior behind WITH THE BAND, she looks set for the perfect trip to take the snipers shot.

TOANUI SPIRIT (2) started from the 2nd line last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip and was looking to sprint late when within 5m of the winner GWENDALION. Taking them all he way the start prior when setting a smart tempo and ripping home the last quarter, she will give them something to chase.

HUNTAWAY (5) will strip fitter following his latest appearance when 2nd up from a break. Taking on a 2nd division qualifier he held the 1x1 trail and went within a head of victory. He is right in the fight in this line-up.

PACIFIC COIN (10) has the tricky gate to negotiate but with even luck can look to chime in. Making a mess of things last start, he is banished to the ODM as a result. Will be looking to work into it late.

SELECTIONS: DE VOYAGE (1), TOANUI SPIRIT (2), HUNTAWAY (5), PACIFIC COIN (10)
SUGGESTED BET: DE VOYAGE (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

JUST DEAL IT (5)
has grabbed the bronze at her past 2 starts in some eye-catching performances against stronger opponents than she will square off against here. Within 2m last start with an interrupted passage, she charged home the start prior when a half-neck away. Just needs a rub of the green to land this.

ONLY IN ROME (2) has been in nice touch at the Redcliffe Triangle in recent outings, finishing in the top-3 at his past 3 in succession. Arriving to score over the 1780m 2 starts back, he hit the line strongly at his next start when 2m in arrears. Only that same margin away last start behind COMMODORE JUJON, he can capitalise from this alley.

ARBIT MAJOR (1) has been an absolute model of consistency at Redcliffe, in the money at 11 of his past 12. However, it is hard to overlook the fact he is winless on the Albion Park oval in 32 attempts, the gate will certainly help his quest to rectify that.

ASHKII (8) put in a nice effort 2 starts back when forced o retreat for position when unable to get a forward spot. Suffering the same fate last start from gate 4, he hit the line strongly and will be probing for the openings here.

SELECTIONS: JUST DEAL IT (5), ONLY IN ROME (2), ARBIT MAJOR (1), ASHKII (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST DEAL IT (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

COBBLER LANE (10) is doing well from some tough gates of late and faces the outside of the 2nd line which has not given him any favours. Last start over the 2138m he was hitting the line strongly to grab the silver behind GOOD AS IT GETS in a smart closing 800m. In a tricky race to close out a tough day, he can arrive.

MISSINMEMATE (2) was a Redcliffe winner 2 starts back over the 2040m when securing the 1x1 trail and finishing best to land the loot. Forget his last start when making an error, from this gate he can settle close to the action and look to throw down a challenge.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (6) looked to capitalise on an improved gate in the Knights and Dame Final over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start. Setting a sharp tempo, she was nailed up the passing lane. Despite the gate, she can be in the mix.

RUNFORTHEROSES (1) took on a mares qualifier last start when buried away on the pegs. Mid-field behind TACT BESS, it followed an 8m margin to OUR DELIGHT. From this gate she can be a big improver.

SELECTIONS: COBBLER LANE (10), MISSINMEMATE (2), MAFFIOSO GIRL (6), RUNFORTHEROSES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-10
