The Rockhampton Jockey Club, in conjunction with Wendy Mulry Travel, is promoting an attractive three-day Winter Carnival racing package in a proactive move to entice racegoers to enjoy the spoils on offer.
Mulry, with a proven track record of 45 years in the travel industry, says the land package represents amazing value at just $999 on a twin share base.
“The term ‘land package’ is really self-explanatory as it means people make their own way to Rockhampton and once here, the accommodation, racing and associated social functions over the three days are covered,” she said.
It provides for luxury accommodation for three nights at The Edge apartments which has river views and is situated within walking distance to Rockhampton’s CBD.
A ticket to the giant TAB Calcutta at Rockhampton’s Callaghan Park racecourse on July 8 is included, mixing it with all the racing identities, including special guest champion Western Australian jockey William Pike.
Entry and reserved seating at the Member Lounge overlooking the saddling enclosure for the Real Group Rockhampton Newmarket race day on Friday July 9 with light refreshments served.
The pinnacle of the package will be Pavscorp Rockhampton Cup Raceday on Saturday July 10 with a ticket to the prestigious Chairman’s Luncheon.
Once again, this is in the Members Lounge which will include reserved seating, two course carvery meal and a four hours’ drinks package inclusive of spirits.
Furthermore, package guests won’t have to worry about transport to attend the races and functions as return transport to The Empire is included in the cost.
The $999 price tag twin share represents what keen racegoers are always seeking – over the odds value.
“I can assure you if individuals were independently making their owns bookings for what this package has to offer, they would realise its amazing value - it would amount to much, much more,” Mulry said.
Wendy is no newcomer to organising racing tours as she has been an integral part of central Queensland racegoers enjoying tours to Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and New Zealand.
Having led those tours and others that Wendy has been associated with, I can personally vouch for her professionalism and zeal for detail thus ensuring her guests derive the utmost pleasure from the experience.
With the closure of such international tours and holidays, Wendy has turned her expertise to domestic travels and tours within Australia.
“I really believe this package will appeal to a wide cross-section of people from country folk in the regions and city dwellers desiring a break and to be spoilt,” Mulry said.
“Rockhampton is a magnificent destination with much to offer not just the racing.
“Guests will have plenty of time to explore the nearby region and the idyllic Capricorn Coast should they choose on the Thursday before the Calcutta.”
