RACE TWO

COOL SCOOTER (5) was brave in defeat last start after doing all the heavy lifting and only falling 3.5m short. After a big crack for the front that was repelled in a sub 27 opening attack, he cut the breeze thereafter. With the added fitness after 3 runs back this campaign, he might need to work again, but is up to the task.

FUTURE STRIDE (3) started from gate 5 last time out and after having a look was snagged back. Looking for gaps that never arrived, he went to the line full of running when 5m in arrears of the winner. Not suited when cutting the breeze 2 starts back, limiting the early burn, he can feature.

BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO (9) resumes from a spell after failing last start back in Nov at Redcliffe. With an easy trial in readiness for the return, he can follow into the money here 1st up.

CELTIC CRUZA (7) took on a qualifier last start and didn’t have much luck in transit from gate 11 when still able to grab 3rd in a smart effort behind I AM SERENGETI. Despite the gate he has claims.

SELECTIONS: COOL SCOOTER (5), FUTURE STRIDE (3), BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO (9), CELTIC CRUZA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COOL SCOOTER (5) to win

RACE THREE

TRUE STEPPER (9) has been kept fresh since her last appearance where she was able to overcome gate 7 and the 2138m trip. Continuing to press on, she took control and in a strong last 800m, was able to bust it open and score by 21m. A nice 3rd when resuming, she looks set to go back-to-back.

MIND OF MY OWN (5) showed the benefit of her 1st up run from gate 7 when pressing forward from gate 6 when 2nd up. Finding the front, once taking control she was able to cruise home to a smart 5m maiden breaking win. Grabbed in the closing stages last start, she can get forward and will fight.

LORD DIGBY (7) doesn’t receive many favours from this gate, but he has developed a handy career record with 4 wins and 2 minors in his 8 starts. Capitalising on the leader making an error to score last time, he can be thereabouts again.

GUY LOOKS GOOD (2) will be 1st up from a spell and returns with 1 trial to prepare. A winner 2 starts back over the mile when finishing best from the 2nd line, he can chime into the money here.

SELECTIONS: TRUE STEPPER (9), MIND OF MY OWN (5), LORD DIGBY (7), GUY LOOKS GOOD (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TRUE STEPPER (9) to win

RACE FOUR

HANDSOME HERO (5)
started from the 2nd line last time out and after settling back in the pack, was closing out best to arrive for a 5m victory and set a new career PB in the process. Luckless the start prior when probing for an opening that didn’t avail, he can settle handy to land the winning blow.

LIFES BLACK (3) claimed the 1st Trot Rods heat last start when pressing to the front over the one lap scamper around the Redcliffe triangle and holding on for the prize. Luckless the start prior when looking for a gap after retreating from gate 5, he can be close enough to issue a challenge here.

LISA LINCOLN (4) wasn’t suited from the 2nd line last start when wide out and trying to work into the contest. Setting the tempo in front the start prior, she was collared late and can be in the mix again.

FIRE AND ICE (1) has been in nice touch at Redcliffe at his past 3, the latest when only beaten a half-head after working home wide off the track. With an economical trip on offer, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HANDSOME HERO (5), LIFES BLACK (3), LISA LINCOLN (4), FIRE AND ICE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

SIGNORINA JUJON (5) was snagged back from gate 7 last start to settle a long way back over the 2138m trip. Closing out soundly for the bronze behind MAJOR LUCKY, it had followed a similar effort when working home from the extreme gate over the mile. Its been a while between drinks, but this is within reach.

CROWN MOJO (2) was 1st up from a break last start when landing the ace and securing an easy ride in transit in the pocket trail. Making the most of the trip to work into space in claiming a 2m victor, he broke his maiden tag in the process. This is tougher, but with added experience can feature.

IDEAL TIGER (3) started off the 2nd line when making his 1st Aus appearance for Doug Manger last time out. After an economical peg trip, he didn’t see space when needed. He can be thereabouts.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (4) should find this a bit easier than what he has been facing in recent outings, the latest when fading late in a qualifier behind BETTOR TO BE TRICKY. With even luck he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SIGNORINA JUJON (5), CROWN MOJO (2), IDEAL TIGER (3), NIFTY STUDLEIGH (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SIGNORINA JUJON (5) to win

RACE SIX

SECRET JACK (5) completed a hat-trick of claiming victories last start when proving too strong over this trip after pressing forward and taking control out in front. That followed a smart win over the mile where he ran a slick closing 800m in front to take the prize. Claimed last start and lining up for Mitchell Dawson in this, he looks set for another win.

COURAGEOUS LEO (1) found the pocket trail last start and with the soft run in transit had the bullets to fire when the passing lane arrived to slice through and claim a 4m victory. Placed in his 3 previous starts leading into that win, he looks set for the perfect trip once again and can take the closing shot.

BULL MARKET (7) will take fitness from his latest start when 2nd up from a break and having his 2nd run since re-joining the Turpin stable. Luckless in finding space last time, the smaller field will suit and he can chime in.

COMPLY OR DIE (2) was able to land the loot over this trip 2 starts back after taking control and pinching the race with a leisurely 32.6 opening panel. Gunned down last start, cover is an option and he won’t be too far away.

SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (5), COURAGEOUS LEO (1), BULL MARKET (7), COMPLY OR DIE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: COURAGEOUS LEO (1)

RACE SEVEN

SPEECH IS SILVER (9) arrived in Qld with a bang and quickly put together a hat-trick of victories in his 1st 3 starts, winning from bad gates in impressive fashion on each occasion. Beaten at his last start when setting a brutal tempo over the 2138m, he was found to have suffered the Thumps and was sent for a break. With a pair of trials against some strong performers, he can return with a bang.

TIMELESS APPEAL (1) managed to land in the pocket trail last start at Redcliffe from gate 8 in a smart steer to get a nice run in transit. With the leader hoisting the white flag before the turn, it went pear-shaped and when finally seeing space the race was gone. With a big gate improvement from what she has been facing, she can bounce back.

TUESDAYS FELLA (8) is racing well without really seeing the rewards for the effort. Not far from LEFT A TERRPR last start in a qualifier, he will get a perfect trip here and be ready to probe for an opening.

RUNFORTHEROSES (3) has worked herself back into some form and last start was only collared in the closing stages when 3m in arrears. A nice winner 2 starts back, she can find the podium again.

SELECTIONS: SPEECH IS SILVER (9), TIMELESS APPEAL (1), TUESDAYS FELLA (8), RUNFORTHEROSES (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEECH IS SILVER (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

THE REAPER (8) made flyer from this same tape last start and within 60mm had taken up the lamp lighting duties. Just fading in the closing strides after making up the ground, he was able to hold on for 3rd. That followed a 2nd to MAJESTIC SIMON in the McNeil Final and with his brilliant manners, he can go close again.

EL SWAVO (4) was cleanly into stride last start off the front tape and setting the tempo out in front was best of the rest as MELPARK MAGIC cleared out for a big win. Making an uncharacteristic error 2 starts back, he is normally safe from the strands and will be right in the fight here.

NORAHS FLING (5) was closing in good order last start to grab the silver and finish within 2m of the winner SKYLINE. That was franked with SKYLINE winning again on Tues and she can feature here.

NO TRANSACTIONS (2) pounced on the early lead last start prior to releasing THE REAPER and securing the trail. Only beaten a head here 2 starts back, he can settle handy and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: THE REAPER (8), EL SWAVO (4), NORAHS FLING (5), NO TRANSACTIONS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE REAPER (8) to win
