RACE TWO

CHEYENNE AUTUMN (2) settled in the pocket trail last start when finishing mid-field behind TULHURST KATE. 2 starts back from inside the 2nd line she was hitting the line in nice order to grab the bronze. From the gate she can settle close to the action and might just pinch this.

ELLE JAY (1) hasn’t been too far away in recent starts and comes up with the options from the pole here. Locked away last start, she couldn’t go when the speed went on, with that following a sound effort from gate 3. With her lone win seeming a distant memory, she can change that from this alley.

CANNAN (8) did some early work last start from gate 4 before receiving cover in the run. Fading in the closing stages, he had placed in 3 successive starts prior and can find the podium again here.

JAKES ARK (7) hasn’t had much go his way this campaign and was banished to the trials last start. Earning the return, he can get a soft run in transit and be probing for the gaps in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: CHEYENNE AUTUMN (2), ELLE JAY (1), CANNAN (8), JAKES ARK (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

PATCHWORK JET (8) has been in consistent form in similar races to what he faces again here, finishing in the money at his past 6 in succession. Charging home last start to get within a head of the winner, he arrived from this gate to claim the prize here 3 starts back. Conditions look right.

KID CLAVERT (1) rolled forward to face the breeze from gate 6 last start and despite the tough run was in for the fight when within 3m of the winner. A passing lane winner here 3 starts back from this same gate and distance, he can look for the easy trip and be ready for the closing shot in the stretch.

WILLSINTOWN (7) might just find this easier than his recent starts and with an easy run in transit will be looking for space late. Down the line at his past 3 outings, look for a sharper effort in this.

A BETTER CHANCE (6) eased back from this gate last start to look for cheap runs and using the passing lane was only 2m from the winner. Fitter for the run, with a similar trip she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (8), KID CLAVERT (1), WILLSINTOWN (7), A BETTER CHANCE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PATCHWORK JET (8) to win

RACE FOUR

CC JONES (1)
found conditions to suit last start and sent to the front over the 2040m from gate 3 kept them chasing all the way to claim a comfortable 4m victory. That followed a tidy 3rd behind the in-form B MAC C at his 1st run following a barn switch. Back to the sprint trip is a big plus and he looks hard to stop.

SUGARKANE (7) has the perfect gate and looks set to follow the likely leader. Sent to the front from gate 2 last start, she set the tempo over the 2040m and was only collared in the closing strides behind CALL ME TRISH. A nice winner here 3 starts back, the soft suits and she will be ready to strike.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (8) will take benefit from her 1st start in Qld when stepping out for the 1st time in over 9 weeks. Closing nicely to be 4m in arrears of the winner, the pegs look the place to play here and she can look for the short-cuts.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3) finished mid-field behind FIRE AND ICE last start after doing some early work prior to cover arriving. Hitting the line strongly for the silver here 3 starts back, he won’t be too far away.

SELECTIONS: CC JONES (1), SUGARKANE (7), MAFFIOSO GIRL (8), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Peg-fecta 1-7-8

RACE FIVE

GOES BOOM (8) has showed a liking for the triangle with a pair of wins and a placing in his 3 outings here. Both wins have come from the 2nd line when saved for a closing shot, the latest when finishing best to sweep home to a 3m winning margin. There looks the tempo to bring him into the contest and he can match his name in the stretch.

FIRE AND ICE (5) found his race last start and with a well-judged run arrived right on the wire to claim the prize after working wide off the track in the closing lap. Only beaten an eyelash over the AP mile 3 starts back, he can look for a tag home and will be in the mix when it gets busy.

SPONDOOLEY (1) can hold the pegs early where he loves to position. Eased back from a wide gate before closing nicely last start, he will be in the snipers seat waiting for the trigger to be pulled.

TAXI METER (3) wasn’t suited last start over the AP mile when doing plenty of work early and fading in the closing stages. Back to his home circuit suits and from the gate he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GOES BOOM (8), FIRE AND ICE (5), SPONDOOLEY (1), TAXI METER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GOES BOOM (8) to win

RACE SIX

This looks a tough race to dissect with mid-race moves surely to play a vital part of the result. SUKI DAYO (6) will be further tightened from her latest start when 3rd up from a break and working home soundly after being locked away on the pegs and chasing home the smart DATALDO. Hitting the line nicely here 2 starts back, she can pinch this.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (9) started from the six-hole last start when sent forward to do the tough stuff in the breeze. With an even tempo over the 2040m, he faded late to be down the line. Claiming the bronze here 2 starts back over the sprint trip, despite the gate, this looks a winnable contest.

PROMISES MADE (5) faded last start after being sent forward to the breeze and under the tough trip she was down the line. Learning from that at just her 2nd career start, she can be sharper here.

GRINYDONTCHA (3) speared out form gate 3 last start to take up the running but couldn’t see it out when fading to finish mid-field. Firing the 1st shot again here, she can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: SUKI DAYO (6), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (9), PROMISES MADE (5), GRINYDONTCHA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SUKI DAYO (6) to win

RACE SEVEN

BRIGHTON PRINCE (3) has shown good improvement at each outing this campaign and lines up here after placing at his past 2 attempts. Rolling forward to the breeze last start from gate 5, he was in for the fight when only beaten a nose hair. 2m away when 3rd 2 starts back, this looks his chance to capitalise.

CANDYFLOSS (1) took on a stronger race at AP last start and from gate 4 was angled to the pegs looking for short-cuts. With luck deserting her, she went to the line looking for space that never opened. Grabbed late here 2 starts back, she has the gate to get the right trip for a challenge.

JEWEL OF PEAK (9) returns from a spell after being put away in early November. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial from a wide gate, the gate stings here but she can chime in to the exotics.

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (10) was wide off the track last start and hit the line in good order to get within a head of the winner. A beaten fav when making an early error 2 back, she has claims here.

SELECTIONS: BRIGHTON PRINCE (3), CANDYFLOSS (1), JEWEL OF PEAK (9), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BRIGHTON PRINCE (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

HEART OF COOPER (2) will take good benefit from his 1st run in Qld when stepping out off a 4-week break. Angled to the pegs from the 2nd line and looking for short-cuts, he was sound to the line behind HANDSOME HERO. Back to the triangle and from the good gate looks ideal.

GUPTAS CULLEN (9) lands gate 9 again following a tough run from this same alley over the 2040m last start. Making a move mid-race and covering plenty of the track, she was game in finishing 8m from the winner LETTUCEFIRESTAR. A tough winner 2 starts back, she will be in the fight.

DOLLARBILL (7) will need a slice of luck to see some space form this gate, yet he has been in nice touch. Grabbed in the closing strides by SHERIFF JUJON last start, he will be probing for space.

PRECIOUS CULLEN (3) started from gate 10 last outing and after settling a long way back in the pack was hitting the line nicely in the closing stages when within 5m of the winner GOES BOOM. He can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HEART OF COOPER (2), GUPTAS CULLEN (9), DOLLARBILL (7), PRECIOUS CULLEN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: HEART OF COOPER (2) to win
