RACE TWO

ELLE JAY (2) is on the short back-up from Sunday where she was too slick for them out in front at Marburg when posting a big win. Luckless here the start prior when forced to retreat when unable to secure a forward position, she looks set to fire the early shots in this and from the front can look to dictate.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (10) was trying to secure position from gate 3 at Redcliffe last start and eventually eased to find the running line and then could not go on with it. 3rd here 3 starts back when working home soundly as SIR SEMPER FIDELIS arrived, in this line-up she can throw down a challenge.

ILLBEWATCHING (5) made the most of conditions last start when securing the ideal trip in behind the leader. Angled to the outside in the stretch, he had the closing answers to score and can chime in again here.

CLARES FOOL (4) started fav here last start from gate 2 when setting the tempo out in front. With the tempo a little too slick to see it out, he held on for 3rd to make it 3 successive placings. He can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: ELLE JAY (2), TORQUE TO THE MAX (10), ILLBEWATCHING (5), CLARES FOOL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ELLE JAY (2) to win

RACE THREE

BIG WHEELS (7)
started in red figures last time out at his 1st outing as a 3YO and was asked to work for it when sent to the breeze from the 2nd line. Grinding it out, he came up a half-head short behind COOL AND CALCULATING. He gets into this race nicely and despite the outside gate can take his shot.

TALENT TO SPARE (2) has been kept fresh since her last appearance back on January 12 when wide off the track to get forward from the 2nd line. In for the fight, she was game in holding on for the silver when 5m in arrears of the winner BOOMCHUCKALUCKA. Too slick in front the start prior, she can give them something to chase.

LILLIES (5) returned to kickstart her 3YO season in fine style when scoring first up over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Away from the pegs early, she was sent forward and never in danger in scoring a smart win. She has podium claims from this alley.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (7), TALENT TO SPARE (2), LILLIES (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (7) to win

RACE FOUR

SAM IS PERFECTION (5) has placed at his past 3 in succession, the latest when sent forward over the 2138m trip and working hard in the run was able to grind it out to finish 3m from the winner GOTTA MOMENT. Not much went his way the start prior yet he was only a half-neck away. In an open event he can cash-in.

AT WEST POINT (2) was forced to cut the breeze last start and after the tough trip was left with no ammunition as MAYWYNS COURAGE powered over the top of them. Finding the front seems to be key to his hopes and he looks set to light the lamps here which will boost his chances.

CASINO TOMMY (7) has no favours from the outside alley, but he is racing well at present. Sent to the post as fav last start, he was shooting for a hat-trick of victories when 5m in arrears of the winner. He can chime in again.

SMITHSTARS LEXUS (6) was the locomotive towing the 3-wide train last start when moving up around the field but ran out of coal. Strong to the line the start prior to grab 3rd behind AT WEST POINT, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: SAM IS PERFECTION (5), AT WEST POINT (2), CASINO TOMMY (7), SMITHSTARS LEXUS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SAM IS PERFECTION (5) to win

RACE FIVE

DATITUDE (1)
will take further benefit from his latest offering when 2nd up since a break. Doing the heavy lifting outside the leader in a slick mile, there was merit in the run. Gate 7 was his undoing on return when retreating early before finding the line nice order, weaving a passage to the wire. The gate gives him every chance.

MAJOR FERNCO (4) was asked to do it the tough way last start and rolling the sleeves to race first over from gate 6 could not see it out when fading in the closing stages. 2m from the winner MONTANA CHIEF the start prior, he has been kept fresh for this, but his record at the trip continues to be a concern.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (2) was sent forward from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and with a pedestrian opening half, had enough arrows in the quiver to prevail in the closing battle. A beaten fav last start, he has podium claims.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (7) faces a tough gate here but should find this a shade or 2 below what he has been meeting. Closing strongly when 6m from CASINO TOMMY here 2 starts back, he was runner-up to AT WEST POINT 4 back and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: DATITUDE (1), MAJOR FERNCO (4), NEWPORT DREAMZ (2), CLASSIE AMERICAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DATITUDE (1) to win

RACE SIX

BETTATHANIDEAL (5)
eased from gate 4 over the 2138m here 2 starts back and then caught the eye when weaving a passage between runners to be within 5m of the winner NEWPORT DREAMZ. Finding a nice spot in running last start, he made the most of an early scrimmage to finish over the top for a smart win and can repeat.

BLISSFULDAY (1) was beaten by gate 6 at Redcliffe last start where he was snagged back to the rear and then never had a crack at them. Working home strongly wide off the track the start prior, he attacked the line smartly 3 runs back. A return to the big oval should suit and from the gate can challenge.

MORESCO (2) was grinding it out when first over last start and was in for the fight when runner-up to BETTATHANIDEAL. Best of the chasers from a 2nd line gate here 3 runs back, she has early speed and can make a play in this.

MEGA STAR (4) was hitting the line in good order last start when 4m in arrears of the winner. Facing 2nd line gates at his past 3 in succession, a return to the front is a big plus and he is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: BETTATHANIDEAL (5), BLISSFULDAY (1), MORESCO (2), MEGA STAR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTATHANIDEAL (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3)
found conditions to suit here on Friday when sent straight to the front from the ace and was never in danger thereafter. That win was over this same trip where he was able to get an easy opening half before finishing them off in nice style. With the early bullets to fire here, he can go back-to-back.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (9) has been in nice touch of late and lines up here with 3 minors and a win in her past 6 starts. Finding the space to squeeze into the pocket trail last start, she was strong to the line when 2.5m from the winner BETTATHANIDEAL. Worried out of it the start prior, she can make a play despite a sticky gate.

HELLO ITS ME (7) threw her chances away at the start here last week when making an error off the ace. The run thereafter was full of merit when weaving a passage to still not be far away. Despite being moved to the outside, she can chime in.

DESPONDENT (5) is going well without landing a winning blow this campaign. Gunned down here 4 runs back by the smart looking GOING FOR GOLD, his last start effort from gate 7 after not receiving the smoothest passage was meritorious and he can feature.

SELECTIONS: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3), SHEZ ALL STYLE (9), HELLO ITS ME (7), DESPONDENT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

MARETTI (1)
will take great benefit from his latest appearance when returning from a spell. Settling in the running line from gate 3, he grabbed the bronze behind COURAGEOUS SAINT. There is some concern that it has now been 2 years since his last victory, but with the options from the gate he can turn it around.

CHANTREY (8) pressed forward to find the front here on Sat night over the 2138m from the five-hole and was rolling out in front at a strong clip. Fighting to the wire, he was game in holding 2nd behind CLINTAL DO when 2m in arrears. With the 2nd line options to get away from the pegs, he can throw the challenge down.

JOHNNY WHITE (7) made an error last start that saw him out of contention before they were even underway. He moves to gate 7 as a result and with a smart 2nd 2 runs back, can be in the mix here.

GOTTA MOMENT (2) took them all the way here last Tuesday over the 2138m after burrowing through to lead from gate 1. Following that up with a last here on Saturday night, albeit not that far away, he can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (1), CHANTREY (8), JOHNNY WHITE (7), GOTTA MOMENT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-7-8
