RACE TWO

BIG WHEELS (4) has had his runs spaced as suitable assignments have been hard to find for connections. Working across to find the trail on the back of TALENT TO SPARE here last week, he was under pressure at the 400m but rallied strongly to hold on for 2nd. Grabbed by COOL AND CALCULATING the start prior, the week-to-week run will be a big bonus.

LAST PLACE LUCY (1) was stepping out for just the 2nd time in her career and 1st up since December here last start when she just did not have the early zip off the arm and was soon locked away 3 back on the poles. Strong to the line when stretching BIG WHEELS for the silver, she will be chiming in.

SIR BULSKI (2) held them wide last start at Redcliffe from gate 1 and given some early pepper, could not finish it off as subsequent winner ROCKNROLL DA GAMA arrived. He is a podium player in this.

BIG GEM MONTANA (6) lands the tough gate but was smart in scoring on Friday when leading throughout to claim a new career benchmark 1.55.8 mile. He can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (4), LAST PLACE LUCY (1), SIR BULSKI (2), BIG GEM MONTANA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (4) to win

RACE THREE

This race may well show a large spread in the ratings but could just be the right contest for the lowest under the NR scale. MAJOR FERNCO (1) took on his less preferred 2138m trip last start when returning from a freshen, charging home in the closing stages to get within a neck of the prize. Back to the mile here and with a cosy trip in behind he can take the snipers shot.

B MAC C (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when a beaten fav over the mile from gate 6. Snagging back to find position, he was wide off the track when trying to launch his claim to be within 2m of the winner. Grabbed when leading them in a qualifier the start prior, he can be gripping on.

PACIFIC DRUMS (6) tried to take them all the way last start over the 2138m and with the speed on throughout, could not see it out as COURAGEOUS SAINT grabbed him late. He might need to work here but can be in the fight.

MONTANA CHIEF (5) found conditions to suit on Saturday night and with the perfect trip in behind the speed scored a deserved win. In nice touch in recent outings, the small field will suit his swooping pattern.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR FERNCO (1), B MAC C (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (6), MONTANA CHIEF (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR FERNCO (1) to win

RACE FOUR

FLAME LADY (7) has no favours from this alley but should appreciate this class of contest and after a freshen can look to strike. Never far from the action her record here at The Creek is superb with a top-3 in 12 of her 14 outings, the latest on Feb 9 when working hard over the 2138m. She can overcome the gate impediment.

COPPICE (2) was asked to roll the sleeves to race first over last start and after the tough trip was trying to rally in the stretch. With a sub 28 3rd panel taking some wind out of the sails, he held on for the bronze when 3m away. Grabbed in the last stride when leading 2 starts back, he can be gripping on in this.

FIRE ME UP (1) does not have the greatest numbers next to her name but in her 3 runs this campaign, not much has gone to plan. Doing work at some stage in all 3, she has the option for the cheap trip to make a closing play.

LANCELOT BROMAC (5) keeps on keeping on and will have his 400th start for Stew Dickson as his trainer. Closing out to be 4m in arrears last week, he can be making a closing play to find the podium in this.

SELECTIONS: FLAME LADY (7), COPPICE (2), FIRE ME UP (1), LANCELOT BROMAC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: FLAME LADY (7) to win

RACE FIVE

ITZ MAJOR RICH (5)
returns from a spell to kick off his 3YO term after a 2Yo season that netted 3 wins and a 2nd to DANCE IN THE SUN at his last run before being shut down. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial when hitting the line in nice style, he can look to make a winning return.

JINGLES BROMAC (7) was looking to make it 4 on the bounce last start when taken to Marburg but the 2nd line on the tight track was his undoing. Sent forward to face the breeze, he was all out with 300 to travel as OUR FRIEND controlled it in front. He can press forward in search of atonement.

GROOVY MISS ANNIE (2) had the perfect trip last start and making full use of the passing lane made the closing shot a winner to score here at The Creek for the 1st time after 20 attempts. Settling in behind the speed, she can again make a closing play.

SELECTIONS: ITZ MAJOR RICH (5), JINGLES BROMAC (7), GROOVY MISS ANNIE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MAJOR RICH (5) to win

RACE SIX

SHEZ ALL STYLE (1)
has placed at her past 3 starts, the latest from the 2nd line when settling in a rearward position and making some good ground in the closing stages as HELLO ITS ME scored a gritty win. Grabbed by subsequent winner NEWPORT DREAMZ 3 runs back, she has the gate and options to capitalise.

ISLAS JOY (8) was making his 1st appearance in Qld on Friday when returning a smart effort to lead throughout. That was off the back of a slick trial at Marburg in readiness where he did it all himself out in front in sharp time around the tight track. He will need some factors in his favour but will be searching for a way clear.

GINGER MICKY (6) resumes from a spell and has joined the Cristina Monte barn since his last campaign. Only beaten a head here 2 starts back when leading them up, he has trialled in nice order for the return.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4) was a winner here 3 starts back when making the most of the lamp lighting duties to take them all the way. Worried out of it by HELLO ITS ME at his next appearance, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SHEZ ALL STYLE (1), ISLAS JOY (8), GINGER MICKY (6), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-8

RACE SEVEN

LEFT A TERROR (1)
will take good benefit from his latest assignment when returning from a let-up. Tackling a qualifier, he was taken back from gate 7 to look for short-cuts when the power up front made it tough for the chasers. Runner-up 2 starts back via the passing lane over the 2138m, this looks ideal.

SQUARE DEALER (8) will be having his 1st outing since arriving in Qld to join the John McMullen barn. Arriving a last start winner at Addington back in November, he has strutted his wares at the trials here at The Creek where he returned a tidy effort. He lands the right gate to make a first up challenge.

NEARIS GREEN (4) eased to the running line from gate 5 last start when 2nd up since arriving in Qld and was chasing to grab the bronze behind FRANCO HAMPTON. With even luck in transit, he can feature.

LORIMER LADY (9) started from inside the 2nd line last start and with the easy trip was making a dive up the lane when a half-head shy of the winner. The pegs could be the place to play here where she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: LEFT A TERROR (1), SQUARE DEALER (8), NEARIS GREEN (4), LORIMER LADY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LEFT A TERROR (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

KINGOFTHESTARS (6)
started from inside the 2nd line last start and pinned down on the poles was searching for an opening when 7m from the winner CLINTAL DO. Fighting gamely the start prior when under pressure for a long way yet holding 3rd, this looks to be well within reach.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (2) will be further tightened from his latest appearance when 3rd up from a break. Retreating from gate 5 to look for short-cuts up the pegs, the closing power in front made it tough for the chasers. An all the way winner from this gate 2 starts back over this trip, he can fire the early bullets.

WHISKEY BLAZE (3) returns from a Sydney campaign where he was around the money without landing a breakthrough. 2nd to DREAM TO SHARE 4 runs back, he can be thereabouts from this gate.

MIDNIGHT MAN (9) landed in the pocket trail over the mile here 2 starts back when returning from a spell when 9m in arrears of the winner MAYWYNS COURAGE. He found it out of reach on Sat night but with a softer trip can join in here.

SELECTIONS: KINGOFTHESTARS (6), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (2), WHISKEY BLAZE (3), MIDNIGHT MAN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: KINGOFTHESTARS (6) to win

RACE NINE

In the zone since re-joining the Butler stable CASINO TOMMY (12) has now won 3 of his past 4 starts. Finishing over the top of them at the mile 3 starts back, he was in beast mode last start when pressing to the breeze from gate 7 and then crushing his rivals in a 51.8 mile. Despite the gate he can torch them again.

SAM IS PERFECTION (7) has been doing his best chasing CASINO TOMMY of late and has placed in all 3 of those victories. Easing from gate 5 here last week at the mile, he was making a closing play but had to settle for a 1.5m 2nd. The gate does him no favours at all, but he will be fighting hard to challenge.

CHANTREY (11) started from inside the 2nd line last start but was soon away from the pegs to get around to the breeze over the mile where he then had too many answers to score. Grabbed late by CLINTAL DO the start prior, he has podium claims.

MARETTI (4) could not hold the early speedster out last start from gate 1 and from the pocket trail made a closing dive to get within a lip of victory. Fitter again after 2 runs back from a break, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (12), SAM IS PERFECTION (7), CHANTREY (11), MARETTI (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (12) to win
