RACE TWO

A winner in three of his five since arriving in Qld, MAJESTIC HARRY (2) looks to have found his way into this race nicely from the 10m tape. A smart winner last start in the second-round heats of the McNeil, he has the class to take this, the only question being how he handles the track at first look.

CARNERA (1) came from the 50m impost last start and was sent forward to sit parked when fighting hard to hold on for a midfield finish behind JANSSON. A grafting 3rd from the 40m the start prior, his two wins in Qld have been when leading them up and from the front tape, he can throw it down.

MELPARK MAGIC (3) was stepping up to Saturday night grade last start when searching for the hat-trick after successive 2138m victories. Holding on for the silver, he can chime in again here.

STRESS FACTOR (7) takes his first look at this track, as do most of these and none having a win at this venue. Chasing through to hold 3rd last start behind VAN SANK, he can chime into the minor money.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC HARRY (2), CARNERA (1), MELPARK MAGIC (3), STRESS FACTOR (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC HARRY (2) to win

RACE THREE

After digging deep to hold on for the silver on Friday over the sprint trip, MISTER HART (1) finds the gate to look to fight them off over the middle trip here. A smart winner three starts back, he was eyeballed and in for the fight in a 1.55.1 rate here last start as LE TISSIER arrived. The gate helps.

ARTHUR LOWE (7) eased from gate 4 here on Saturday night to find the poles before finding the line in nice style to be 6m from the winner. Strong to the line over the 2138m two starts back, he maps for the perfect trip and will be ready to take the pull the trigger when the shot presents.

ELMS CREEK (2) made the most of gate 1 at his last appearance when burrowing through to lead and from the front took them all the way. Kept fresh since that outing, he can position to feature.

OUR BONDI BEACH (4) secured the pocket trail last start and was chasing to the wire when holding 3rd behind BEAU CISHLOM. 3rd two starts back behind JUDDY DOUGLAS, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: MISTER HART (1), ARTHUR LOWE (7), ELMS CREEK (2), OUR BONDI BEACH (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER HART (1) to win

RACE FOUR

ALTA REVELRY (3)
resumes from a spell after facing the starter three times late last season where he was able to win his first two appearances- both by big margins. Just 1m from the winner last start here in the Xmas 2YO feature, he finds the conditions to get on the board at his first 3YO outing.

GOTTA GO MILKING (2) resumes from a spell after his last appearance on this track back in December when just out of the placings behind ROSES ARE SWEET. A winner from the second line over the AP mile two starts back, he can get forward early to be positioned to challenge.

SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (5) resumes from a spell to have his first start in Qld. Last seen back in December of 2020 in the G1 Vicbred 2YO Final, his preparatory trial was back on January 7 and stays under watch.

SII SEMPRE TILLY (1) had been building towards a maiden breaking victory and delivered that assessment when finding conditions to score here last start. This is tougher but the gate helps.

SELECTIONS: ALTA REVELRY (3), GOTTA GO MILKING (2), SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (5), SII SEMPRE TILLY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELRY (3) to win

RACE FIVE

This looks a tough race with plenty of chances in a race where a few struggle for consistency. AFTER DARN (7) took them all the way here two starts back when making the most of gate 1 for an all the way victory. Repelled after an early look last start, she will be coiled and ready to strike.

WEDDING NIGHT (1) has good speed out of the machine and from this gate has the options to plot her own destiny. Eased from gate 4 last start to find the 1x1 trail, she could not eat into the deficit over the closing stages. Not suited when sitting parked the start prior, the gate is her friend here.

GLITTER STRIP (6) tried to take them all the way last start and led them deep into the stretch, only to be collared in the last stride when beaten a head. The gate makes it tough.

SHOWEM SIMON (3) is on the back-up from Sunday at Marburg where he was able to burrow through to protect the poles and take them all the way. From the gate he can feature.

SELECTIONS: AFTER DARN (7), WEDDING NIGHT (1), GLITTER STRIP (6), SHOWEM SIMON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-7

RACE SIX

Off the back of a smart trial where he attacked the line in smart fashion, SAGINAW (7) was sent out at bank interest odds last start for his first Qld outing. Making an error at the same point in both laps of the AP oval, he has been back to the trials with a smart effort and earns his chance at redemption.

A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (8) takes her first look at this track and comes into the battle with a last start 3rd when chasing hard in the driving rain behind ROCKNROLL TIMES. Her chances turned to confetti two starts back when carted back through the pack, but she finds conditions here to challenge.

OUR FRIEND (3) settled in the running line from the second-row last start and was left flat through a slick back straight sprint. Runner-up the start prior, he has the gate to settle handy and make a play.

LARA BAY (1) eased from gate 3 last time out and from back in the pack could not get warm over the closing stages. With the speed to dart through, she will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: SAGINAW (7), A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (8), OUR FRIEND (3), LARA BAY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 7 / 1-3-8

RACE SEVEN

VINNIES ON FIRE (1)
was having just his third career start here last time out when first up since October. Pressing on early and content to sit parked, he proved too strong in pulling clear for a big 19m victory with double that margin back to 3rd. This is another step up, but the experience and gate help the cause.

AS SHE SAYS (2) started her career in perfect order when claiming victory at her debut here two starts back when finishing best to claim a half-head margin. Chasing hard to hold 3rd behind the far more experienced MISTY CREEK second-up, she can be close enough to challenge in this grade.

MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (5) made an early error last start before resetting and chasing to grab 3rd behind JUDGE JUJON. Just 4m in arrears two starts back when leading, he can be thereabouts.

INDY JEWEL (3) was sent to the post as the favourite last start from outside the second line and could not get warm over the closing stages. Fitter again after two runs back, she is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: VINNIES ON FIRE (1), AS SHE SAYS (2), MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (5), INDY JEWEL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: VINNIES ON FIRE (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Firing out from gate 4 to find the front here last start BONZA GUY (1) was able to keep them chasing and put it out of reach for the chasers with a slick 56.4 closing half. That followed successive second line draws and although this is a step up in grade, he comes up with the set up to dictate.

CATCH PHRASE (7) darted through to claim victory last start over the AP mile to be rewarded for consistent efforts where she has placed in four of her previous five starts. Beaten a half-neck in successive starts prior to her victory, she can be stalking the speed ready to strike.

FLO RYDA (5) secured the 1x1 trail last start when easing off the pegs early with the move away from the pegs proving the winning one. Arriving to take his win record to four on this track, he can feature once again.

WHATTA GOOD REASON (3) was angled to the poles last start and was picking off good metres in the latter stages when runner-up to ISOLATION. Just a half-head away the start prior, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: BONZA GUY (1), CATCH PHRASE (7), FLO RYDA (5), WHATTA GOOD REASON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BONZA GUY (1) to win

RACE NINE

He may be having his first trip up the Houghton Highway to the Peninsula, but ANOTHER STATEMENT (7) finds the pattern matching conditions to return home a winner. Darting through to score along the passing lane three starts back, he was just a head away at his next outing and can arrive here.

HY VOLTAGE (1) fired out from gate 4 in looking to take them all the way last start over the AP mile and setting a slick tempo was collared in the last stride. Taking benefit from that run, he comes up with the alley to dictate and will be trying to fight them off.

BLUE IVY (3) is in nice touch with four wins in her past five appearances, including successive wins in mare’s company at headquarters. From this gate she can settle close enough to feature.

AMILLION PROMISES (2) has a 50% winning strike rate on this track from his 12 appearances. 5m rom subsequent winner B MAC C last start, he will be close enough to chime in.

SELECTIONS: ANOTHER STATEMENT (7), HY VOLTAGE (1), BLUE IVY (3), AMILLION PROMISES (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
