RACE TWO

The first of the Rickie Alchin pilgrims steps out here with WATTS UP SUNSHINE (8) facing a tough gate but bringing a good record. Big in victory from gate 6 Newcastle three starts back in slick time, he has not been too far from them at Menangle his past two. With the right trip he can arrive.

CALL ME KEITH (1) will appreciate a return to the front line after his past two have been from second line alleys, the latest when striking trouble. A big winner when rounding them up from the rear at Marburg two runs back, he was just 2m from the flying SOHO SINATRA four back.

SOHO SINATRA (9) faces a tough ask from this gate, but he has been in super form since joining the Donny Smith barn, winning five of his six starts. Gunning them down last start, he will swoop hard.

LOVE YOUR WORK (2) capitalised on gate 1 here last week when darting through to take control and then put them away with a slick closing panel. He can take a good shot again to feature.

SELECTIONS: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (8), CALL ME KEITH (1), SOHO SINATRA (9), LOVE YOUR WORK (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (8) to win

RACE THREE

He was not totally comfortable last week when second up from a spell and TOMMY LINCOLN (4) never really warmed up when trailing home the field as the favourite in the FFA. A return to this grade is a huge plus and if any benefit can come from last week, it will be added fitness as he can atone.

KEAYANG MARVEN (5) shoots for the hat-trick here on The Triangle and will do it from the same alley that the previous two wins have originated from. Allowed to balance before sent forward to sit parked here on Tuesday, he pulled clear to claim a commanding victory. He can throw it down again.

IT AINT THE MONEY (6) has been in super form and is in search of a threepeat of his own after wins at the AP 2138m and the sprint trip here. The gate stings but he can work and be put into the battle.

MAYWYNS COURAGE (8) made the most of the inside gate here last week to keep them wide and then keep them chasing, putting it out of reach with a slippery closing panel. He can chime in.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY LINCOLN (4), KEAYANG MARVEN (5), IT AINT THE MONEY (6), MAYWYNS COURAGE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY LINCOLN (4) to win

RACE FOUR

STAR GALLERIA (2)
was returning from a spell for his first Qld appearance two starts back when sent straight to the front from gate 3 over this trip. After a steady opening half of just 61.5, he had control and put it out of reach with a pair of sub 28 closers. Game when sent to sit parked last start, he can dictate again.

RUBIES FOR TASH (1) returns to the Shawn Grimsey stable where she previously had good success prior to being sent back to Sydney. Runner-up at her past two Menangle appearances, she comes up with the ideal alley here to sit in behind the speed and be saved for the closing challenge.

TURN IT UP (8) made it a perfect one from one on this deck when taking them all the way here last start when first up from a break. The second line makes it tricky, but he can punch through to feature.

DEUS EX (7) was eased off the poles from this alley last week to sit parked and after a tough trip over the 2040m could not see it out. Too slick in front the start prior, he can be joining in at some stage.

SELECTIONS: STAR GALLERIA (2), RUBIES FOR TASH (1), TURN IT UP (8), DEUS EX (7)
SUGGESTED BET: STAR GALLERIA (2) to win

RACE FIVE

In nice touch since resuming from a spell, CAPTAIN NEMO (4) could not quite reel in the victory from the pocket trail last start to grab 2nd with SOHO SINATRA blazing home with a 1m margin. Holding them off when setting the speed the start prior, he can get forward and look to grind this out.

BLISSFULL LILLY (2) made the most of mare’s company last time out when pouncing on the lead from gate 4 and taking them all the way for a tidy win. This will be tougher but from the gate she can look to fire out once again and near the pointy end of the action can issue the challenge.

CAPTAINS PICK (7) started from gate 9 last week and was trying to launch a closing play when just losing some ground before getting going again late. The peg trip can aid his cause here.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9) was returning from a spell er 14 days back when pressing on from gate 6 to sit parked and grinding out a smart 2nd to JASPER. With the added fitness she can feature.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN NEMO (4), BLISSFULL LILLY (2), CAPTAINS PICK (7), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN NEMO (4) to win

RACE SIX

Starting from three off the second line last start, BOMBADIER JUJON (4) did not enjoy the smoothest passage in transit when finishing 8m in arrears of the winner SOHO SINATRA. That made it successive weeks he has chased home the same winner, the week prior when 2nd. In a race that could be willing early, he gets the chance to arrive.

INFATUATION (2) had been building towards something after two Qld starts and franked that assessment here last week when powering over the top of them from the second line to claim a tidy win with a strong closing 800m split. Not owning the greatest early hustle, he can still challenge.

PACIFIC DRUMS (3) soon found himself in front here last week over the 2040m trip but was unable to see it out when fading in the closing stages. His record here is strong and back to the sprint helps.

ROCK BOTTOM (6) sat in the pocket trail last start and needed every centimetre of the home stretch to reel in the leader and grab victory right on the wire. Beaten by gate 5 the start prior, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (4), INFATUATION (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (3), ROCK BOTTOM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

Not suited from gate 1 last start and lacking the hustle to hold up, THE HERVEY BAY (9) settled in the pocket trail and chased hard for the bronze. Sent to sit parked the start prior over the 2040m when 6m in arrears of TEDDY FEELS GOOD, he might just have found the right conditions to cash-in.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (1) should appreciate the improved gate after facing gate 6 last time out in midweek company when chasing home behind the smart SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE. Following the pegs to grab 3rd behind SAGINAW two starts back, the options from the gate are a big plus.

THE IRISH EAGLE (7) lands another second line alley after his past three have all been from gate 8. With the chance for the easy trip in behind the speed, he can be looking to make a late play.

AIR TIME (6) joins the Trent Dawson barn and will be fresh here since his last appearance when a passing lane 3rd to SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE in a qualifier. The gate dents his hopes.

SELECTIONS: THE HERVEY BAY (9), WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (1), THE IRISH EAGLE (7), AIR TIME (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HERVEY BAY (9) to win

RACE NINE

Second-up from a spell over the sprint trip here last start JASPER (3) rolled forward in the early stages from gate 5 before receiving the 1x1 trail. Looming up, she was able to cruise past to claim a smart win. With the improved gate and this an easier graded contest, she looks too classy.

SHE OWNS THE DAY (2) had been runner-up in successive outings including a best of the rest performance behind the talented SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE two starts back when setting the speed and holding the remainder of the field. With the early hustle, she can make a challenge.

BLAZE COOPS (5) has faced some tractability issues since claiming a victory here four starts back. Banished to the trials, she looked sharp in earning the return and if replicating the trial performance can feature.

CROSSED LEGS (1) is in a career peak with a pair of wins and a pair of minor placings in her past five starts. 4m from CHARM OFFENSIVE last start in holding the silver, she will be probing again.

SELECTIONS: JASPER (3), SHE OWNS THE DAY (2), BLAZE COOPS (5), CROSSED LEGS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JASPER (3) to win

RACE TEN

Returning from a spell last start with a victory, RED CASTLETON (7) will go in search of a hat-trick of wins after winning at Menangle at his last run last year before being sent for the break. Pressing on to the front and then leading throughout last start, he has the second line options for the threepeat.

STRESS FACTOR (3) was low to muster speed from the tapes last week and then when he was sent to have a look for the front was repelled. Receiving the 1x1 trail, he could not go on with it in the latter stages in finishing midfield. Finding the front from this alley will give his chances a boost.

GARLAND GREENE (5) rolled around them in the early stages to it parked from the 20m impost and was able to graft out a smart victory. 3rd to RED CASTLETON the start prior, he can make a play again.

MAJESTIC SIMON (6) will strip fitter from his outing here last week when resuming from a spell. Facing the 30m back mark, he was sound over the closing stages and can feature despite the gate.

SELECTIONS: RED CASTLETON (7), STRESS FACTOR (3), GARLAND GREENE (5), MAJESTIC SIMON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: RED CASTLETON (7) to win

RACE ELEVEN

The first 2YO event of the season here in Qld where the market flucs will help tell part of the tale. The Hunstville gelding RISE ABOVE ALL (2) has trialled in nice order against some experienced campaigners and importantly comes up with a barrier advantage over what appear the dangers.

THE GROGMOTHER (4) is a daughter of Hurrikane Kingcole for trainer John Boserio that has trialled at Albion Park in February and then here at Redcliffe on March 15. The trial here on The Triangle was a nice effort when pressing on to the front and doing everything right.

EMPRESS BYELINE (3) is a Betting Line filly trained by Melissa Gillies. Out of the six-win mare Rockonbye, she is her dams first foal and was sound in a Marburg qualifying trial.

SELECTIONS: RISE ABOVE ALL (2), THE GROGMOTHER (4), EMPRESS BYELINE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RISE ABOVE ALL (2) to win
