Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the Ipswich greyhound meetings for Friday March 4, 2022 and Saturday March 5, 2022 have been cancelled.

The Ipswich Showgrounds continue to be used as an Evacuation Centre for Ipswich residents impacted by the floods. Based on advice from the Ipswich City Council today, there is no prospect of the facility being available for racing on either Friday or Saturday this week.

The Ipswich Club continues to make progress on repairs to the track and infrastructure following the extreme weather damage. RQ and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) will inspect the track tomorrow with the intention to commencing trialing activities on Thursday March 3, 2022. An announcement confirming this will be made tomorrow afternoon.

With regard to feature racing, RQ advises that the final for the Ipswich Auction Series Sprint (431m) will now be held on Saturday March 12, 2022. Advice regarding the rescheduling of the Past Members Heats (431m) and the Ipswich Young Guns Heats (520m) will be provided as soon as possible.

Albion Park and Capalaba are in constant communication with RQ and QRIC regarding the impact of the flood. Both venues are closed for racing indefinitely. No decisions have been made on replacement meetings but options will continue to be considered on a daily basis and information provided to industry participants as soon as possible.
