Racing Queensland advises that there have been a number of amendments to the race distances for the Ipswich Turf Club meeting on Wednesday, March 9.

Specifically, the 1350m, 1200m and 800m chutes have been deemed unsuitable for racing over at present, with no possibility that they will recover in time for next Wednesday’s meeting.

The 1666m starting point is also not considered suitable for commencing races at.

As a result, the following race distances and starting limits have been amended:

  • Benchmark Handicap 70, was 1666m, is now 1500m. Starting limit reduced from 16 to 12;
  • Benchmark Handicap 68, was 800m, is now 1000m. Starting limit reduced from 16 to 10;
  • Class 5 Handicap, was 1350m, is now 1500m. Starting limit reduced from 16 to 12;
  • Maiden Plate, was 1350m, is now 1500m. Starting limit reduced from 16 to 12; and
  • 3YO Maiden Plate, was 1200m, is now 1100m. Starting limit reduced from 14 to 13.
