RACE TWO

SIR BULSKI (5) is a Rock N Roll Heaven gelding on debut for Tim Gillespie and is a half-brother of 2 winners. Qualifying with a nice trial when doing everything right, he has been given one month between that hit-out and his debut. He showed enough to suggest he can feature in this.

SUGARKANE (3) is the ninth foal out of LIKENESS to make the track, with 7 of the previous 8 having all tasted success. By Hurrikane Kingcole, she trialled in good order and from the Vic Frost stable, should be ready to roll on debut.

REDS GOOD TO GO (6) brings the most race experience of this field and can look to call om that here. He found the line in good order behind ALBION ARK last start and will be right in the fight here.

GIRLS ON THE GO (1) will take benefit from her debut when 7m from the winner FOND MEMORIES after being shuffled back from this same alley. 2nd up she can make the most of the inside draw.

SELECTIONS: SIR BULSKI (5), SUGARKANE (3), REDS GOOD TO GO (6), GIRLS ON THE GO (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

IM THE COMMANDO (1) will strip fitter from his Qld debut here last week when he was able to make a winning start in the Sunshine State. Coming from the 10m tape in that event, he pressed forward to take control and hold on to score. This is a step up, but from the ace he can repeat.

SPIRIT WALKER (9) is in super form and last time out was sent forward to take control and once in front was a comfortable winner. That made it 4 wins in her past 7, with the other 3 all returning the runner-up prize. The 30m tape will make this a tough test, but she looks up to the challenge.

JEDDY R YA READY (5) has been in the money at 7 of 9 appearances here at AP with the 2 ‘misses’ coming when he has made starting errors. From the 10m tape he will right in the fight.

MELPARK MAGIC (2) took the pocket trail under mobile conditions last start and ran into 3rd when within 3m of the winner HELLBOUND. Safe from the tapes, he will settle handy and can threaten.

SELECTIONS: IM THE COMMANDO (1), SPIRIT WALKER (9), JEDDY R YA READY (5), MELPARK MAGIC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: IM THE COMMANDO (1) to win

RACE FOUR

BRIAN WHO (8)
progressed to the Goldstrike Final after a strong 2nd in his heat. Moving around them early to cut the breeze, he was in for the fight when within 2m of the winner. Banished to the trials after an error in the final, that trial was a sharp hit-out and with early options in this can arrive for the prize.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (5) was locked away on the pegs 2 starts back and was looking for gaps to challenge behind the smart TROJAN BANNER. His run the start prior from gate 7 had merit when chasing home wide off the track and after finding his race on Fri, can look to build on that here.

SMILING ARMADA (3)
speared out to find the front here 2 starts back from gate 1 and was setting a slick tempo when only grabbed in the latter stages by PINUP BOY. Backing up from Fri where he looked to face a task, he has podium claims in this.

WHERES THE SPIRIT (6) started from the 2nd line last start and was hitting the line in good order to be 8m from the winner TENNYSON BROMAC. The gate makes it tricky but he can be swooping late to find the podium.

SELECTIONS: BRIAN WHO (8), NEWPORT DREAMZ (5), SMILING ARMADA (3), WHERES THE SPIRIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BRIAN WHO (8) to win

RACE FIVE

MISS MONEYBAGS (8) hasn’t been sighted since Triad night where she rolled forward from the 2nd line and proved too strong in claiming the 3YO Fillies Consolation. Sparingly raced this campaign, her past 3 starts have been over a 3-month period, but with the perfect trip on offer, she can prevail.

ALI DOWNUNDER (1) claimed the Colts & Geldings Consolation 3 starts back when taking control from the front and fighting them all off. Forget his next start where he was put out of play by a gear issue, his latest outing was a tidy effort from gate 4 and with the benefit of the ace will be fighting.

DAPPER BESSIE (3) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Rolling forward from gate 5 to face the breeze last start over the mile, she only faded late and is in the mix.

MAYWYN NO REGRETS (2) has been freshened since her tidy run last start behind SMART AS CAMM BE in the Triad Final. A winner over the mile 3 starts back, she can settle handy here and can feature.

SELECTIONS:
MISS MONEYBAGS (8), ALI DOWNUNDER (1), DAPPER BESSIE (3), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS MONEYBAGS (8) to win

RACE SIX

PINUP BOY (9)
is airborne and added another victory to his tally last start, making it 5 wins for the season and a top-3 in 14 of 17 for the term. He will have to overcome a 2nd line gate here, but the front-line speed might just set up an early burn which will suit his chances to swoop over the top.

TENNYSON BROMAC (1) pressed on to find the front over the 2138m last start when 3rd up from a break and had enough bullets to keep the attackers chasing. That followed a pair of 2nds where he has been wide. His gate speed is the big query and if crossed, as he looks to be a dour type.

PARAVANI (6) started from gate 6 last time out and made a mess of the start, ending his chances before they even started. He hit the line strongly from the rear the start prior and can bounce back.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (8) was banished to the trials last start after an error in the run and has earned his ticket back with a smart hit-out. He will be probing for gaps and if they arrive can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: PINUP BOY (9), TENNYSON BROMAC (1), PARAVANI (6), JACKS AT THE BEACH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PINUP BOY (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

A rare standing start event for the open performers which will provide vital practice behind the tapes for the upcoming feature, the Flashing Red.

MACH ALERT (8) has a 50%-win strike rate from the tapes, scoring wins in 5 of his 10 appearances. Spearing out to lead throughout over the mobile mile last start, that followed a 2nd behind the start COLT THIRTY ONE. Despite facing the 20m impost, he can look to add another win to his tally.

GANGSTER BOY (4) will appreciate the front line here after his past 2 starts from the tapes have been from the 20m line around the tight Marburg track. Placing in each of those contests, if he can step cleanly, he will be pressing forward and will look to run them off their legs.

SIR JULIAN (1) backs-up from Sat night where he looked a strong place hope from inside the 2nd line. Not suited at the Marburg track at his last stand start outing, he will appreciate conditions here.

OHOKA PUNTER (7) is another with some smart stand start figures next to his name. 3rd up from a break, his 2nd up run was a tidy effort from the 2nd line when chasing home MACH ALERT. He has claims.

SELECTIONS: MACH ALERT (8), GANGSTER BOY (4), SIR JULIAN (1), OHOKA PUNTER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH ALERT (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

JUST DEAL IT (5)
had no luck at all last start and was looking for gaps that never presented and was never tested behind the talented TROJAN BANNER. The start prior she claimed the silver behind the star filly SMART AS CAMM BE and against mares only company here looks to get her chance.

HUGHIES SISTER (1) was buried away on the pegs last start after dropping down to look for cheap runs from gate 2 and hit the line in good order when not far away. A 2nd here 3 starts back in a mares qualifier, she will get the early options and can look to take the closing shot.

AQUA MISS (8) is arguably the best mare in the race however she looks to come up with a tough alley to overcome. Her closing splits were strong last start behind TENNYSON BROMAC and if she finds space will threaten.

JUST ROKIN (3) couldn’t muster the speed from gate 1 last start when crossed early in a mares qualifier. When the leader raised the white flag she was carted back, ending her race. She can atone.

SELECTIONS: JUST DEAL IT (5), HUGHIES SISTER (1), AQUA MISS (8), JUST ROKIN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-8

RACE NINE

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (3)
has worked his way back into some nice form after hitting a flat-spot and backs-up from Sat night where he wasn’t ideally drawn. From the 2nd line over the mile 2 starts back he was hitting the line hard when not far from LINCOLN ROAD. Slick out of the gate he can dictate.

LOCHINVER (1) will be 2nd up in Qld after making his 1st appearance in a 2nd division Band 5 race on Sat night. He should take great benefit from that run where he was also resuming from a spell. With the options from the ace gate he looks to get his chance to end a long winless streak.

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2) took on a mares only race on Sat night where she looked to be well suited. Racing well without the returns, she caught the eye last start and she is right in this.

MAKOA (9) has placed in 4 of his past 6 appearances with the latest when finishing 2m from BUNDABURRA after using the passing lane. With the right early trail here, he can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (3), LOCHINVER (1), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2), MAKOA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (3) to win
