RACE TWO

CHERRYS THE BEST (5) was already possibly the best mare in the race and has been bolstered by landing the best marble of the main chances and further bolstered with a scratching drawn inside her. Her run last start was strong when beaten a half-neck after retreating early and then charging home, which had followed successive wins. With versatility to call on, she looks too good for them.

MISS MONEYBAGS (8) will be requiring some luck to go her way from this gate as she looks in danger of being peg-locked. Taking advantage of gate 1 last start in a mares contest to take the all the way, she set a new PB over the mile at her 11th win. The 2138m should not be a concern, its just some gaps and some luck that she will require.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (11) is the #QBred story to follow of this night, with the mare being the last ever foal produced from the game changing sire Fake Left, lining up for his last ever shot at Triad glory. She was a big winner of a mares qualifier last start and her Redcliffe victory 3 starts back was a gutsy effort. Will it be a Fake Left fairy-tale?

GODDESS JUJON (7) has been in good touch with a pair of wins sandwiched by a pair of minor placings on each side. Tough in the breeze last start when only 3m from the winner BRIDGET BLUE CHIP, she might need to do some work from the tough gate again.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (5), MISS MONEYBAGS (8), SAINT KILDA BEACH (11), GODDESS JUJON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CHERRYS THE BEST (5) to win

RACE THREE

The draw has opened this race right up, with the likely fav MANILA PLAYBOY (11) landing the toughest gate. That is off the back of his impressive race debut when landing inside the 2nd line, he was off the inside early, secured the 1x1 before being sent around to the breeze and cruising home to an impressive win. Looking sharp in a trial since that win, he can overcome the gate.

UNCLE SHANK (5) is another that is 1 from 1 after winning his debut back on Apr 14, settling in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line and then sprinting hard and fast up the passing lane to arrive for the prize. Trialling twice since that win, the latest when 2nd to MANILA PLAYBOY, he can challenge.

GLITTER STRIP (1) made the most of his early speed to lead them up from gate 3 here 4 starts back and cruised home to a big win. Closing nicely last start behind SWEET LOMBO, the gate is in his favour.

JUSTA LITTLE BIT (7) has landed the tough gate, but he couldn’t have done much more to date. With an eye-catching Menangle trial, he was sent North and started his career with a faultless display when leading throughout. He looks a smart conveyance, with the gate the obvious concern.

SELECTIONS: MANILA PLAYBOY (11), UNCLE SHANK (5), GLITTER STRIP (1), JUSTA LITTLE BIT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GLITTER STRIP (1) to place

RACE FOUR

SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (1)
opened her account in fine style last start when utilising the improvement and experience garnered from her 1st 2 appearances. Spearing across from gate 5 to take control of the Changeover Classic, she was never in danger when cruising home to a big 15m victory. Kept fresh since that win, she opened the pipes at a recent trial with a sharp last 400m and can capitalise here.

TALENT TO SPARE (4) has created plenty of impression in her 2 race appearances, which have nearly been overshadowed by her trial performances. With a big trial victory to prepare for her race debut, she franked the trial with a smart victory. Zipping home in 27.2 from the front to win 2nd up and remain undefeated, she can throw it down to look for a threepeat.

JASPER (7) is 1 from 1 after working forward on debut to take control, taking them all the way and scoring a smart 6m victory in good time. Kept up to the mark with 2 trials since the race debut, she doesn’t have any favours from this gate, yet can’t be ignored with what she has displayed.

MY CHINA DOLL (9) retreated last start from gate 5 and was always facing a task as TALENT TO SPARE made it impossible for the chasers. Too strong for them at Redcliffe the start prior, she has race experience and if they go silly up front, she can be ready to descend on them.

SELECTIONS: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (1), TALENT TO SPARE (4), JASPER (7), MY CHINA DOLL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (1) to win

RACE FIVE

JIGGLE AND JIVE (12)
has had a light season with just the 4 appearances, winning 3 of those. Completing a hat-trick of victories through December and January including a slick 1.52.1 mile from the front, she returned last week when making an early error that has seen her banished to the ODM spot. Taking some fitness from that and relying on some tempo, she can arrive.

TRUE STEPPER (3) is yet to miss a cheque in her 7 starts for the term and comes into this off a strong win over this trip when cutting the breeze and still ripping home a 27.5 closing panel to score. Charging home from a long way back the start prior and within 2m of the winner, she can fire the early shot here and can run a race at the odds.

FOND MEMORIES (4) pressed forward from gate 7 last start over this trip and 4 wide through the 1st turn, was then left exposed in the breeze before revving up to take control at the 1000m point and then worried out of it by GINGER MICKY. Back to her own sex is a big plus.

CHEESANDKISSES (13) is effective when saved for a closing swoop and with the right cart into the contest from this gate, can land some minor money. Swooping late for the silver last start, she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: JIGGLE AND JIVE (12), TRUE STEPPER (3), FOND MEMORIES (4), CHEESANDKISSES (13)
SUGGESTED BET: TRUE STEPPER (3) each-way

RACE SIX

He is by far the best 3YO in the race, however GOVERNOR JUJON (8) will be relying on some factors in his favour if he is to go one place better than his 2YO Triad Final result and take this. Cruising home over the top of them last start, it had followed a smart 1st up victory. He will be relying on the 1 to hold the front and get him to the lane with momentum, if that happens, he should be winning.

ANOTHER STATEMENT (11) has shown good improvement at each of his 3 starts since returning from a break. A head from TRUE STEPPER when resuming, he was then locked away on the pegs at his next start and didn’t get a shot at them. Pressing forward to take control from gate 7 last start, he cruised home to a comfortable win.

BLACKJACK BART (1) was sent forward on an early march form the 2nd line last start to take control and once in charge was never in danger. Grinding it out in the breeze the start prior, he will be hustling hard to protect the poles.

BLACKSADANCE (10) has been in great touch and it took GOVERNOR JUJON to run him down last start when lighting the lamps over the mile. Only 4m from TIZ A SIZZLER 2 starts back, he will be in for the fight.

SELECTIONS: GOVERNOR JUJON (8), ANOTHER STATEMENT (11), BLACKJACK BART (1), BLACKSADANCE (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

SWEET LOMBO (7)
was impressive when making a successful race debut at Redcliffe and would not be out of place in the main race should he gain a start as the emergency. Setting the tempo from gate 1 in his only appearance, he ripped home a slick 27.6 on the triangle to claim a 4m margin with a further 13m back to 3rd. Despite the gate, he can go 2 for 2.

COURAGEOUS SAM (11) has been kept fresh since the 2nd of his career outings when he made a mess of things and was never in contention. Eased back from gate 5 on debut, he was sent forward as they settled in single-file, allowed plenty of time to balance up and chase the eventual winner GLITTER STRIP. With a smart trial to prepare, he has the ability to take this.

CAPTAINS PICK (4) set the tempo on debut from gate 4 when sent to the post a red figure fav. Gunned down by BIG WHEELS near the line, he will take benefit from the run and can feature here.

GRIGORA (2) hasn’t had much go his way thus far in his career and should appreciate the vastly improved barrier. Yet to find a gate closer than 6 in his 7 career starts, he will get his chance to improve.

SELECTIONS: SWEET LOMBO (7), COURAGEOUS SAM (11), CAPTAINS PICK (4), GRIGORA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEET LOMBO (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

The consolation for the 3YO fillies looks an open contest with some early speed off the front line ensuring early position will be keenly contested. Leaning toward WHICH HUNT (10) who should relish the return to fillies only company. Luckless last start when searching for a gap that didn’t arrive, she was grabbed late when setting the tempo 2 starts back. Despite the gate she can arrive.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (5) was looking to remain undefeated for her 3YO season last start when tackling the 2138m for the 1st time. Finding the front, she released for the trail and then using the passing lane was 4m from the winner BOMBADIER JUJON. A strong winner at her 1st 2 outings, she can throw it down to them.

TOANUI SPIRIT (2) completed successive wins at Redcliffe over both the 1780m and then the 2040m prior to finishing the runner-up by only 1m at each of her next 2 starts. With early speed, she can fire the 1st shot here.

FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1) charged home from back in the pack to arrive at Redcliffe 2 starts back and then last time made an error that ended her chances. With the cosy trip, she can look to chime in.

SELECTIONS: WHICH HUNT (10), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (5), TOANUI SPIRIT (2), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: WHICH HUNT (10) to win

RACE NINE

GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3) will move in to gate 2 if the emergency is not required and that should be enough to see him get to the front. A Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when sent to the breeze from the 2nd line, he has since changed barns and demolished them at the Triangle 1st up, running electric time and scoring by 36m. The rise to the 2138m is of some concern, but he can make the rise.

WILL THE WIZARD (5) resumes from a spell, having opened the pipes in readiness for the return with a tidy hit-out. Gunned down at his last outing of his previous campaign when setting the tempo over the mile, he has a good record with 3 wins and 6 minors in his 12 appearances. With a win over TIZ A SIZZLER last prep, he can throw down the challenge.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (4) had the speed to hold them out last start from gate 1 over the mile and keeping the tempo up was able to fight them off. The rise to the 2138m is the query, but fitter from his latest outing can feature.

REDS GOOD TO GO (9) started fav last time out from gate 1, but was soon buried 3 back and his chances were out the window as he didn’t see the space. Within 1.5m of the winner 2 starts back, he is not out of this.

SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3), WILL THE WIZARD (5), LEFT A HURRIKANE (4), REDS GOOD TO GO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-4-5-9

RACE TEN

TANCALTRA LIS (1) faced the starter twice early in the season and after a pair of sound returns was sent for a break. Resuming when 3rd at Redcliffe and only 2m from the winner after securing the pocket trail, she was again 3rd when 2nd up after starting from inside the 2nd line. This looks open and form the gate, the options are a big plus.

LILLIES (2) made her race debut here last start when easing from gate 5 to settle in the running line. Chiming in late, she wasn’t too far back from them when finishing 4th as BIG WHEELS launched into space to charge home for the prize. With the added experience, this is not out of her reach.

BAILEYS WITH LEGS (5) has the most experience of this field and will step out for the John McMullen stable for the 1st time. Showing good speed off the gate, she might have the speed to get across them and will give some cheek.

AURORA ROSE (4) made her debut here on Tuesday where she wasn’t too far from them after being the widest runner on the turn for home. Back to her own sex is a plus and with the added experience can chime in.

SELECTIONS: TANCALTRA LIS (1), LILLIES (2), BAILEYS WITH LEGS (5), AURORA ROSE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
