RACE TWO

JONAH JONES (9) was a winner here 5 runs back when pressing forward to race first over and proving too gritty to fight them off. Runner-up last start, he may have been closer than the 5m margin with better luck, while 2 starts back he was within 4m of CARDLESFROMHEAVEN. With the right early trail, he gets a chance to capitalise.

MOHS EM DOWN (5) pressed forward to find the breeze from gate 3 here last time out and was grafting away over the 2138m but could not quite put it to them when 8m in arrears. Hitting the line smartly the start prior from the 2nd line, he faces a sticky alley here but with an even rub of the green can make a play.

MISTERFREEZE (7) sat at the rear last time out in veteran’s grade and with a powerful finishing burst was able to arrive for a smart victory. The writing was on the wall after some eye-catching efforts and despite the horrid gate he can chime in.

BALL OF ART (1) makes his 1st appearance in Qld for the visiting Morris stable, arriving with a last start midfield finish at Penrith behind LETS GO TO BRAZIL. Not too far from the mid-week winner BAILEYS KNIGHT 2 starts back, the gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: JONAH JONES (9), MOHS EM DOWN (5), MISTERFREEZE (7), BALL OF ART (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JONAH JONES (9) to win

RACE THREE

Stepping out in Qld for the first time at her latest appearance, TWO TIMES BETTOR (7) was absolutely enormous in defeat when finishing 4m in arrears of the winner. Making an early error, she looked to have thrown her chances away, but somehow caught the field and was still giving. Despite the enforced ODM status, she is up to this.

BAILEYS KNIGHT (9) started his Qld holiday in perfect order here on Tuesday when proving too strong over the 2138m trip. Rolling forward from gate 4, he powered home to claim a 5m victory and while he will be chasing here, with even luck in transit he can look to make closing play.

STREET APPEAL (4) returns to the stable of Donny Smith and will be further tightened from his latest effort when 2nd up from a break. A smart 1st up winner from gate 6, he was collared late by the swooping JERADAS DELIGHT last time. He will put some heat into this.

RAGNARR (3) has hit the board his past 7 on the bounce including a last start Redcliffe victory when using the passing lane with a sharp sprint to score. Hanging tough here 2 starts back for the silver when only beaten a head, he is right in the fight again.

SELECTIONS: TWO TIMES BETTOR (7), BAILEYS KNIGHT (9), STREET APPEAL (4), RAGNARR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TWO TIMES BETTOR (7) to win

RACE FOUR

TURN IT UP (1)
should strip fitter from his recent outing when 1st up since his Sydney campaign. Sent to the post as fav, he was wide through the middle stages from gate 11 over the 2138m to get to the breeze but faded over the latter stages. A big winner at the marble drop, back to the mile from this gate he will be rolling.

LITTLE RASCAL (8) resumes from a spell with his last appearance coming back in December when midfield and 6m in arrears of MOTU GATECRASHER over the Menangle 2300m. With a tidy pipe-opener at the trials in readiness for the return, he can follow through attempting to issue some form of challenge.

WRANGLER (9) was in search of a hat-trick last time out when sent around the field early from gate 10 to take control. Trying to hold on, he had to settle for the bronze and with the pegs looking an option here can be taking the short-cuts home.

CLINTAL DO (7) made a mess of thins last start from inside the 2nd line and finds himself banished to the ODM position. Hitting the line nicely the start prior, he will be looking to launch a closing raid.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (1), LITTLE RASCAL (8), WRANGLER (9), CLINTAL DO (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

GOLIGHTLY (2) was looking to complete a six-pack of victories last start but had to settle with the handful after being collared by OUR MEGASTAR. Too good out in front 2 starts back over the mile, he can press to the front here and taking control will be looking to fight off all challengers.

BOMBADIER JUJON (1) tackled the 4YO Triad last start from the 2nd line where he settled back in the pack. Setting out after the lead pair, he was best of the peloton to grab 3rd as WILL THE WIZARD cast a winning spell. Charging home from a long way back the start prior, saved for the snipers shot, he can hit the target.

OUR BALOU (8) fired off the arm to take control here 2 starts back after finishing runner-up at his 2 starts prior. Never in danger once in control, he should secure an economical trip to feature here.

KING TRITON (10) has been running some smart races since arriving in Qld, hitting the board in 4 of his 5 starts here at headquarters. Finding conditions last start, he pressed forward and was too sharp and can be swooping late here.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (2), BOMBADIER JUJON (1), OUR BALOU (8), KING TRITON (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-10

RACE SIX

SAUCY DREAMS (7)
was rifled off the arm to take control here last start and from the front put on a power running clinic. With an opening half of 55.6, there was no respite through a 3rd panel in 27.1 before stopping the clock for a 51.4 mile to equal the mares track record. The gate hurts but she can put the power on again.

FRANCO HAMPTON (6) was beaten by an inside 2nd line barrier last start but still made some closing ground when within 5m of the winner. Doing it all in front here 2 starts back to take them all the way, he can look to get near the action to make a strong challenge for supremacy.

PETES SAID SO (4) is on the back-up from Tuesday where he was locked away from inside the 2nd line before really attacking the wire when the gaps arrived. With even luck in transit, he is in the mix.

MOREAU DRIVE (1) has placed in 3 of her 4 starts here at The Creek and will be resuming from a spell here. Winning over the Menangle mile 2 starts back after being locked away, she can be probing.

SELECTIONS: SAUCY DREAMS (7), FRANCO HAMPTON (6), PETES SAID SO (4), MOREAU DRIVE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SAUCY DREAMS (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

LOMBO HEAVEN (2)
claimed a qualifier here 4 starts back from the 2nd line when finishing over the top of them in claiming a 3m winning margin. Nothing has been in his favour in the 3 starts since that victory, yet last start he was only 2m from the winner. From this gate he gets every chance to dictate.

WE SALUTE YOU (10) has not tasted success this season where his returns show just 2 minors in 11 outings. His run 2 starts back at Bankstown was a smart effort when charging home to be within 4m of the winner and then last start the tempo was against him over the 2300m. He can make a closing play here.

THE CROUPIER (7) started from gate 2 at his 1st Qld appearance when firing out early and looking to take them all the way. Leading all bar the last 2 strides as NIMAH FRANCO arrived, he can chime in here.

THE DEMOCRAT (3) did some early work until cover arrived here on Tuesday when not that far away from the winner BAILEYS KNIGHT. Settling handy to the action here can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: LOMBO HEAVEN (2), WE SALUTE YOU (10), THE CROUPIER (7), THE DEMOCRAT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LOMBO HEAVEN (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

This shapes as a cracking contest with some in-form mares to do battle and plenty of speed looking on offer. Fitter following her Triad victory where she was 1st up, BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (4) should appreciate the conditions here. Better suited at the mile, she scored at the 2138m in a tough win last week. With 4 wins on the bounce, she is well positioned to look for a handful.

WITH THE BAND (9) was sent forward from gate 4 last start over the 2138m and once in front had them chasing all the way before ripping home in a 27.1 closing panel to take the prize. Finishing over the top here 3 starts back, with the right trail, she can be positioned to make a closing challenge.

SCARLET BABE (7) shoots for the hat-trick after a pair of dominant victories here at her past 2 starts. Too strong for them at the mile 2 starts back, she was then put on the front end over the 2138m at her next appearance and could not be run down. The gate is a big sting but she is up to it.

JERADAS DELIGHT (6) has been runner-up in 3 of her past 4 starts and scored a stylish win in the other appearance. Closing out strongly from a long way back last start as WITH THE BAND dictated, she can descend on them late.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (4), WITH THE BAND (9), SCARLET BABE (7), JERADAS DELIGHT (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

JENDEN STRIKE (10) returns to the scene of one her greatest triumphs with last season’s South East Oaks winner returning for another Brisbane winter raid. Kept fresh since her last appearance in the consolation of the Riverina Championships where she scored a strong win from the front, she can return with a bang.

LOOKING FABULOUS (2) has had 2 starts since switching stables and been able to place on both occasions. Asked to hang tough last start, she was in for the fight when finishing 3rd and 5m from the winner VIENNA BOY. Only a neck away after starting from gate 7 here 2 starts back, she can throw it down.

MORESCO (1) has finished as the runner-up at her past 2 starts, both runs over the 2138m trip. Setting the tempo last start, she was collared late and with the options from the gate is in the mix.

BROOKLYNS BEST (4) was a Newcastle winner 3 starts back when firing off the arm to lead and then taking them all the way. Runner-up at her next start, she has the right credentials to feature.

SELECTIONS: JENDEN STRIKE (10), LOOKING FABULOUS (2), MORESCO (1), BROOKLYNS BEST (4)
SUGGESTED BET: JENDEN STRIKE (10) to win

RACE TEN

DANCE IN THE SUN (2) turned up here on Tuesday looking on paper to be a strong chance of leaving with the prize. That plan was cactus just prior to the barrier releasing the field with the speed horse she was following failing to pace behind the barrier. Completely luckless thereafter, she can take luck out of it here and have them chasing.

GENERAL MONTANA (7) makes his Qld debut, arriving from the North Island of NZ where he faced the starter on 9 occasions. Still a maiden, he placed his past 7 starts in succession before being shut down back in December. With a smart trial in readiness, the gate stings but he looks smart.

THE GROGFATHER (4) started from gate 1 against open age opponents last time out and went down swinging when beaten a lip behind EH EF EL. Back to his own age suits and he will be right in the fight.

CHAMONIX (6) started from inside the 2nd line in the MANILA PLAYBOY’S Triad domination last week and did not find open road until the race was gone. Still hitting the line stoutly for 3rd, it followed successive wins and he can chime in late again here.

SELECTIONS: DANCE IN THE SUN (2), GENERAL MONTANA (7), THE GROGFATHER (4), CHAMONIX (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DANCE IN THE SUN (2) to win

RACE ELEVEN

CLAUDYS PRINCE (1) will be second up in Qld following an eye-catching effort when making his first appearance since joining the Jack Butler barn. Buried in the run from inside the 2nd line as MAJESTIC SIMON was carving it out, he attacked the line strongly when finding clear space. The inside lane gives him every chance to capitalise.

MAJESTIC SIMON (11) tackled the mobile mile last start and was carving it out in front, running sub 30 panels all the way in claiming victory in a 1.55.6 mile. Saved for a closing challenge over he 2138m here 2 starts back when not far from FLINGANDWINGIT, he will throw it down here at the long trip.

FLINGANDWINGIT (6) is back to the 20m tape after easily claiming victories at his past 2 starts from the front and then at the 10m. Finishing best to claim victory by a neck last start, he cannot be ruled out.

OUR OVERANOVA (10) was asked to hang tough last start and while MAJESTIC SIMON was well clear of the peloton, he was still forced to grind it out leading the outside division. The long trip suits and he can feature.

SELECTIONS: CLAUDYS PRINCE (1), MAJESTIC SIMON (11), FLINGANDWINGIT (6), OUR OVERANOVA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CLAUDYS PRINCE (1) to win
