Racing Queensland advises that the Albion Park greyhound meeting for Saturday, May 14 has been abandoned.

The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission, Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club and RQ agreed to abandon the meeting due to the predicted state of the track, the forecast for more rain and local flooding around the streets of Albion Park.

The heats of the Brisbane Young Guns (520m) and Carnival Chase (600m) have been rescheduled to Thursday, May 19. To accommodate the Carnival Chase heats, the Grade 5 600m event has been removed from the program on May 19.

The nominations for both the Brisbane Young Guns and Carnival Chase have been re-opened and new fields will be drawn. Greyhounds that were originally drawn will be given first preference in the order of entry.

The finals of the Brisbane Young Guns and Carnival Chase will be held on Thursday, May 26. Due to a clash with the heats of the Brisbane 50th Anniversary Trophy Heats on this date, the winner of the Brisbane Young Guns will be offered automatic entry into the Brisbane 50th Anniversary Final on Thursday, June 2.

Nominations for Albion Park meeting on Thursday, May 19 close on Monday, May 16 at 9am.
