RACE ONE

WATERLINE (3) was obliged to do it the tough way on debut when sitting parked from gate 3. Well beaten into 2nd placing as THE TAX CULLECTOR controlled it in front, she was able to repel the challengers to hold on for the 2nd and with the added race experience can look to go one better.

SHORT LEG SUE (2) is an Art Major filly on debut for Grant Dixon that has returned a tidy trial in preparation for her first race appearance. From the good alley, she stays in the mix.

GEIRANGER RAINBOWS (1) makes her debut for Chantal Turpin and has qualified with a handy trial performance. A Betting Line filly out of Essaouira, she is a half-sister to two winners including SOHO CASABLANCA.

SELECTIONS: WATERLINE (3), SHORT LEG SUE (2), GEIRANGER RAINBOWS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: WATERLINE (3) to win

RACE TWO

Runner-up at his past three in succession, JACCKA WATCH (5) looks to have found the right conditions to claim his first victory since crossing the Tasman. Locked away from the 20m tape last start, he hit the line in nice style to be under 3m from the winner YOU NO ILL BE LATE.

MAJESTIC SPEED (7) made an uncharacteristic error last time out that ended her chances which had followed a wide gate over the mobile mile where she eased for position and then could not get into it. A winner four starts back when stepping cleanly, she can be thereabouts again here.

PADDY PANTS (1) makes his first Qld appearance as he steps put for the first time in his 4YO term. Runner-up last start at Melton back in August, he has trialled soundly in readiness for the return.

THE REAPER (10) has the back mark to overcome but should appreciate a return to this grade of contest. 3rd here two starts back, he can be making a play.

SELECTIONS: JACCKA WATCH (5), MAJESTIC SPEED (7), PADDY PANTS (1), THE REAPER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: JACCKA WATCH (5) to win

RACE THREE

After some eye-catching performances since arriving in Qld, KAR MANOR (7) was able to maintain gait last start under mobile conditions and trotting cleanly told the tale as he led throughout for a tidy victory. With a safe getaway from the front tape, the winning confidence ca see him search for a repeat.

BD KHAOSAN (10) started from the 20m tape last start and settled back in the pack was attacking the line in nice style to grab the silver behind MAJESTIC HARRY. Making a costly error in the McNeil Final that ended his chances, he can be out of trouble early out the back before making a challenge.

IM THE COMMANDO (2) is at his best when able to roll out in front and from this alley, if he can get off the tapes quickly, he might just be able to give some cheek up on the engine in this grade.

RILEY MOMENT (1) settled in the running line last week but could not get going over the closing stages behind MAJESTIC HARRY. Forced to do it tough the start prior, she has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: KAR MANOR (7), BD KHAOSAN (10), IM THE COMMANDO (2), RILEY MOMENT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: IM THE COMMANDO (2) to place

RACE FOUR

GOODBOY COWBOY (4)
was eased from gate 7 over the mile two starts back and from deep in the pack was strong to the line in the closing stages to be 7m from the winner PARAVANI. Left flat last start behind subsequent winner ADAM CROCKER, the smaller field size is in his favour, and he can look to capitalise.

FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1) started from inside the second line three starts back and using the passing lane grabbed the silver behind the flying SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE. Tough gates have hampered his chances at his past two and with the good alley, lands the chance to turn it around.

ARTHUR LOWE (2) found the pocket trail last start over the mile and ran a handy 3rd behind WATTS UP SUNSHINE. From the good gate with his early speed, he can again be in position to feature.

CANT REFUSE (5) was obliged to sit parked here on Saturday night and battled away in holding 3rd behind the dictating winner HEMSWORTH. After two Qld outings, he can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: GOODBOY COWBOY (4), FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1), ARTHUR LOWE (2), CANT REFUSE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GOODBOY COWBOY (4) to win

RACE FIVE

Making his first race appearance in Qld, WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (9) had a lone Menangle start back in February when first up since crossing the Tasman. Sitting five back in single file, he led the outside line in a slick last half. With a smart preparatory trial, he finds suitable conditions fresh.

SUNNY RICE (2) tackled a strong 2138m event last start and after doing some early work faded over the closing stages. Luckless here two starts back after easing from gate 6 to look for position and then striking traffic, the improved gate and back to the mile are in her favour.

UNCLE LUKEY (7)
should strip fitter from his last start where he was returning from a spell. Hemmed away from inside the second line when 6m from CLASSIE WASHINGTON, the gate stings.

ILLBEWATCHING (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage as he looks set to be buried in the run. Doing his share of work from gate 6 last start, he was a passing lane winner here to back and will be probing.

SELECTIONS: WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (9), SUNNY RICE (2), UNCLE LUKEY (7), ILLBEWATCHING (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (9) to win

RACE SIX

Just the front line for the contest that looks a muddling affair where OHOKA CHOPPER (1) can look to recapture some winning form. Angled away from the poles at Redcliffe last start and finishing 10m from the winner OUR MAJOR DAY, two of his previous three were in FFA grade. He gets every chance.

BOMBADIER JUJON (3) is going much better than his numbers this season would suggest. Chopped out here two starts back in the early stages, he was buried again the poles the start prior. From this alley he can settle close enough to the action to throw down the challenge.

CALL ME KEITH (7) was a passing lane winner at Redcliffe two starts back and backed that up with a game effort here last week when just a half-neck from WATTS UP SUNSHINE. The gate does him no favours.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (6) has run in the quinella at all five starts since resuming from a spell, a win in mare’s company sandwiched between a pair of runner-up returns either side. The smaller field will help.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA CHOPPER (1), BOMBADIER JUJON (3), CALL ME KEITH (7), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA CHOPPER (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Facing wide or second line barriers in three starts since his last victory, THE HERVEY BAY (2) can make the most of the improved gate. Wide off the track over the closing stages last start to be 8m from the winner SAGINAW, he was gamed behind subsequent winner ROCKS OR DIAMONDS here three back.

OBI ONE (1) backs up from a qualifier on Saturday night that was controlled in front and after retreating from gate 6 was always facing a task. Strong to the line two starts back for 3rd when just 3m from the passing lane winner GLENLEDI BOY, a return to mid-week company from this gate appeals.

MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (4) was a long way back in the pack from a second line gate last time out and did not get warm over the closing stages. After a string of tough draws, this looks more suitable.

ITZ MAJOR RICH (3) was asked to do the heavy lifting when sitting parked last start and only faded in the latter stages when midfield to SAGINAW. Fitter again after three two runs back, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: THE HERVEY BAY (2), OBI ONE (1), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (4), ITZ MAJOR RICH (3)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HERVEY BAY (2) to win

RACE NINE

Throwing his chances away at Redcliffe two starts back when making a costly error after being sent out deep into the red SAGINAW (7) returned to the big deck last start and grabbed redemption with a strong victory wide off the track. A winner at 4 of 6 in Qld, he was defeated by his tractability in the other 2.

SHADOW MINISTER (2) took them all the way at Marburg three starts back and then was never in the hunt from gate 5 in a strong qualifier claimed by THREE IN HEAVEN. Grabbed in the closing strides after setting the speed at the 2138m last time, he has the early bullets to make a challenge.

THE IDEAL DANCER (6) has no favours out in gate 6, but his efforts have been solid in recent starts, the latest when caught in gridlock and never getting a good shot at them. A winner two back, he can chime in.

MISTERY ROAD (3) should appreciate a return to the mile after a tough trip sitting parked last time over the 2138m where he was game to the wire. Luckless the start prior, he can be close enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: SAGINAW (7), SHADOW MINISTER (2), THE IDEAL DANCER (6), MISTERY ROAD (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SAGINAW (7) to win
