Racing Queensland that the Gold Coast Turf Club meeting on Saturday, May 14, has been transferred to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club Polytrack.
The decision to transfer the meeting was made following a track inspection this morning and the determination that there is no likelihood that the racing surface at Aquis Park will recover sufficiently in time for tomorrow’s race meeting to proceed at that venue.
The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to some race distances and starting limits for some of the races on the program. They are:
- Race 1 - was 1800m, is now 2000m;
- Race 2 – was 900m, is now 1000m. Starting limit is now 12;
- Race 3 – no change to distance at 1100m;
- Race 4 – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
- Race 5 – no change to distance at 1400m;
- Race 6 – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
- Race 7 – was 1800m, is now 1600m; Starting limit is now 12; and
- Race 8 – was 1300m, is now 1400m. Starting limit is now 12.
Trainers should note that in conjunction with RQ protocol (and wagering service operator requirements), any scratchings made prior to the race meeting being transferred are unable to be reinstated.
There will also be no fees applicable for scratchings made at the meeting, irrespective of the time when they were transacted.
Racing Queensland will distribute amended race fields as soon as is practicable.
