RACE TWO

PARAVANI (7) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start from gate 11 and ran home well in some sharp closing panels to be mid-field behind CAPTAIN COSMONAUT. He has been keen in his races, but he strikes a small field here where he won’t be too far away when he launches his claim.

FLYING WINGARD (3) has faced a string of wide and 2nd line barriers where he has still returned some tidy efforts. Not suited last start over the 2040m at Redcliffe, he was down the line which followed a 4m margin when rattling home late after being buried. Sharp off the arm, he will look to dictate.

GOTTA MOMENT (2) should appreciate the return to a front-line gate close to the speed after being gate 5 or wider his past 4 in succession. Chasing behind IM NORMA JEAN last start, he can place.

IM NO OUTLAW (1) will get the optimum trip here and with the limit of any work will be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch. Not far from MUCH BETTOR last start, he can threaten in this.

SELECTIONS: PARAVANI (7), FLYING WINGARD (3), GOTTA MOMENT (2), IM NO OUTLAW (1),
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

It has been a horror show for the followers of BLACKSADANCE (3) this season, the 3YO perhaps breaking a mirror at some stage there has been that much go against him. A tragedy beaten multiple times in each of his 6 starts this term, after landing the 2nd line in 4 of his past 5 starts, he can make his own luck from the front line to breakthrough

TAPTHEKEG (6) eased back from this gate last start over the 2138m trip in the Marburg to Albion Final before launching a wide run and finding the line in good order to grab the bronze behind the in-form DOLLARBILL. Placed in the Marburg heat of that series, he can be attacking late here.

GOLD REACTOR (11) won’t have any favours from the tough gate but with the right tempo can be powering home in the latter stages. Swooping to the silver last start, look for him making a late play

MISS MONEYBAGS (7) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start and with the perfect trip over the Redcliffe sprint trip, made the closing shot a winning one. Gate 7 hurts, but she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (3), TAPTHEKEG (6), GOLD REACTOR (11), MISS MONEYBAGS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (3) to win

RACE FOUR

ZAHVEN BANNER (3)
will relish the return to the front line after landing the 2nd line at his past 2 appearances. Not suited at Redcliffe when caught off the track throughout, the run was still big. His power running mile from the front here 3 starts back can be repeated to victory here.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) took on a qualifier last start from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe and was buried in the run. Chiming in to grab the bronze behind SEEUINNASHVILLE, it was a tidy effort in sharp time for the 2138m. A strong winner the start prior, he will get the perfect trip.

PINUP BOY (8) was wide off the track when trying to work into the race over the 2138m last start but couldn’t make ground. An all the way winner the start prior, the pegs look the place to be here.

LIKEALLOFUS (11) will provide Vicki Rasmussen with her 1st runner since returning and is a horse effective when saved for a late shot. Looking for the pegs will suit and he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: ZAHVEN BANNER (3), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), PINUP BOY (8), LIKEALLOFUS (11)
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 3 / 1-8-10-11

RACE FIVE

With 6 starts since returning to the Ronny Sallis yard, this looks the race that COMPLY OR DIE (1) can return to the winners circle, a place he has visited 26 previous times for Sallis. 4 of his past 5 starts have been from the 2nd line which is not his go. He finds his chance to roll along out in front and will be fighting hard.

CRACKA STRIDE (8) was a winner 2 starts back when pressing on to find the front from gate 3 and keeping the speed on was able to hold on for a 2m victory. Strong in the breeze at Redcliffe last start where he isn’t ideally suited, he will be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch.

WATTLEBANK FLYER (6) returned a tidy effort last start when unable to find early position he was eased back early before attacking the line hard in the closing stages. Look for him swooping late.

OUR MELS DREAM (7) keeps on keeping on and added another minor to his tally last start to make it 5 placings from 7 outings this season for the 13YO. The gate hurts, but he can be working home into the money

SELECTIONS: COMPLY OR DIE (1), CRACKA STRIDE (8), WATTLEBANK FLYER (6), OUR MELS DREAM (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COMPLY OR DIE (1) to win

RACE SIX

WE SALUTE YOU (2) resumes from a spell t start his 4YO term, showing during his 3YO season that he had the potential to furnish into a handy performer. A smart winner 3 starts back, his next 2 were sound behind the star SELF ASSURED. With a tidy pipe opener at the trials, he can return a winner.

TOMMY UNDER FIRE (7) was 1st up off a freshen following a two-start Menangle campaign here last Thursday when making an early error. Sent forward to the breeze over the 2138m, the effort took its toll as he wilted badly. With a forgive asterisk next to the run, he can ease out early before issuing the late challenge.

CAESARS ASTRUM (1) eased back from gate 6 over this trip last start and then struck some trouble in transit with the 8m margin a tidy effort under the circumstances. With a soft trip, she can be coiled.

MACHIN OUT (4) will take good benefit from his 1st up run at Redcliffe when returning from a spell. Leading them up from gate 1, it took until the final strides for MUCH BETTOR to grab him. With good early speed he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WE SALUTE YOU (2), TOMMY UNDER FIRE (7), CAESARS ASTRUM (1), MACHIN OUT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WE SALUTE YOU (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

TODAYS HERO (9) is only lightly raced and in 8 appearances here at AP is still a maiden despite having placed in 5 of those. Settling in the running line from gate 11 over the sprint trip last start, he was working home well to grab the bronze. With the right early trail, he looks to get his chance here.

JOANNIES GIRL (1) capitalised on this gate last start over the sprint trip when making the closing shot a winning one up the passing lane. From wide gates at her previous 3 starts, the efforts were sound and with the option for a repeat run in transit to her last win, she can strike in the stretch.

OASIS DREAM (2) will take benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up from a break. His 1st up run at Redcliffe had merit over the 2040m and last start over the mile wasn’t suited from gate 10. He can’t be ignored here

BILLY LINCOLN (5) pressed on to take the front from gate 6 over the mile last start and after scorching down the back in sub 28, couldn’t hold off the passing lane winner JOANIES GIRL. The 2138m throws up some questions.

SELECTIONS: TODAYS HERO (9), JOANNIES GIRL (1), OASIS DREAM (2), BILLY LINCOLN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-5-9
