RACE TWO

CASINO TOMMY (4) is knocking on the door, with a 2nd place in 3 of his past 5 appearances. From inside the 2nd line last start over the 2138m, he was winding up along the passing lane, but wire came too soon. Grabbed late when leading them up 2 starts back, he might need to grind it out.

BODHI TREE (3) settled in the pocket trail here on Tuesday and with the cosy trip was sent to the passing lane but couldn’t reel in the leader and winner SENORA RAPIDO. A Redcliffe winner 6 starts back, not much went right at his next few and in this small field, he can throw down a challenge.

CHARMING MAJOR (1) worked home soundly from the 2nd line last start and the start prior claimed the silver behind SEEUINNASHVILLE. This is a step up but he has the options from the gate.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (4), BODHI TREE (3), CHARMING MAJOR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (4) to win

RACE THREE

WE SALUTE YOU (6) will strip fitter following his 1st up run over the middle-distance here last week. Settling in the running line from gate 2 after starting as fav, he worked home well in the closing stages to be 4m from the winner to claim the bronze. With a solid tempo, he can arrive for the prize.

TODAYS HERO (1) has been no closer than gate 5 at his past 6 starts, the past 2 from the 2nd line. Last start over the 2138m, he was off and around to the breeze in the early stages and only faded the latter stages. The gate is his friend here and with the options they present, he can capitalise.

HOT EMBERS (2) makes his Qld debut and will be 1st up since July for the Greg Minns yard. A winner at his past 2 in a heat Final Series, he led throughout in the final at Dubbo. Trialling nicely at Marburg in readiness, he stays under notice.

ONLY IN ROME (8) did his share of work in the run last start behind TIN ROOF RAIDER. Forget his run 2 starts back where he made an error, he can secure the soft trip here and be robing in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: WE SALUTE YOU (6), TODAYS HERO (1), HOT EMBERS (2), ONLY IN ROME (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WE SALUTE YOU (6) to win

RACE FOUR

WHITEHAVEN LASS (1)
will take good benefit from her 1st Qld start here over the sprint trip. Lighting the lamps from gate 2, her condition just faded in the closing stages as OUR ULTIMATE VICKI was able to strike along the lane. This is no harder and with the gate to dictate, can see it out.

ZARAS ALL GOOD (8) lands the ideal alley for her return to the track to start her 4YO season. Last seen when a beaten fav over this trip, she settled for 3rd after involved in some early speed before finding the pocket trail. Not seen at the public trials, the inside suits and she will have the last shot.

BLACKJEWEL (2) went to the pegs last start when 2nd up from a break and with the easy trip in the small field chimed in late to grab 3rd. Fitter again for the run, she can be thereabouts from the gate.

SIXPENNY RED (6) ended up in the breeze last start, although not really applying any pressure. Continuing to drive at the wire, she held on for 2nd. Limiting the burn, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WHITEHAVEN LASS (1), ZARAS ALL GOOD (8), BLACKJEWEL (2), SIXPENNY RED (6)
SUGGESTED BET: WHITEHAVEN LASS (1) to win

RACE FIVE

IAM THE JOKER (1) will look to remain undefeated since joining the Ryan Veivers barn and from the ace will get every opportunity. Leading throughout at both starts over the Redcliffe sprint trip since arriving in Qld, he doesn’t have to step up too much from this gate to make it a threepeat.

CHEESANDKISSES (6) will take further benefit from her last start when 2nd up for her 3YO term. Closing out nicely when 1st up to be 4m from the winner and claim the silver, she was again working home well last start for another runner-up prize. The wide gate hurts but she can feature.

HEADWIN (8) is better suited when allowed to roll out in open air and from this gate will have to adapt to being covered in the run. Gunned down last start in front, if he can relax, he can strike late.

SIGNOR JUJON (9) makes his 3YO return here after a handy 2YO term that returned a pair of wins and a 2nd in the G1 Redcliffe sales Final. Given a steady trial he will take improvement from this.

SELECTIONS: IAM THE JOKER (1), CHEESANDKISSES (6), HEADWIN (8), SIGNOR JUJON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IAM THE JOKER (1) to win

RACE SIX

KATNISS (1) was sent to the breeze to sit outside IMA TOP TYCOON last start from gate 6 over this trip in a much stronger band 5 event. That is not her game and she faded late, but the run had merit. Runner-up her previous 2 starts; she has the options from the gate and can be rewarded here.

FEELINGFORARAINBOW (5) was game in defeat last time from gate 10 over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Looking to work to the breeze with 1000m to run, he was kept 3-wide and despite pouring on the pressure was kept wide. Fighting hard and holding 3rd, he is in form and will challenge hard.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4) was best of the chasers behind ZAHVEN BANNER last time out to make it a top-three his past 7 in succession. A tough winner at Redcliffe 3 starts back, he will be in the fight.

BALLERINA COURU (7) has been freshened since her last appearance when finishing 8m from JUSTALITTLE TORQUE in a mares event. The gate is a stinger but she can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: KATNISS (1), FEELINGFORARAINBOW (5), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4), BALLERINA COURU (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KATNISS (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

IM NORMA JEAN (2) showed what the value of leading over the mile is to her record when putting down the 1st panel in 27.1 and then able to back it off and hold on to score by a neck. Finding the front here, she can take the confidence from her last win and will be gripping on in the stretch.

INIVTE ONLY (6) has found her mojo at the Donny Smith barn and lines up here looking to complete a hat-trick. Too strong out in front over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back in posting a 13m winning margin, last start she packed too much heat in a mares qualifier and will challenge hard.

AMILLION PROMISES (5) started from the 2nd line last start and settling back in the pack just lost momentum at a vital stage when only beaten a pimple. A winner at 2 of his past 4, he is in the mix.

MAJOR CURRENCY (3) eased back from gate 6 last time searching for luck, but it never arrived when finishing mid-field. This is his best gate since claiming a qualifier 6 starts back and he can capitalise.

SELECTIONS: IM NORMA JEAN (2), INIVTE ONLY (6), AMILLION PROMISES (5), MAJOR CURRENCY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-3-5-6

RACE EIGHT

BANGKOK BRAVADO (2) should be close to a fitness peak after 3 runs back from a spell where all 3 have come from 2nd line gates. Over the mile last start he went to the pegs looking for luck and never really had a crack at them. From the good gate he can look to get to the front and take control.

RAGING INFERNO (11) doesn’t get any favours from this alley yet he is racing in nice touch and added another minor to his tally last time out. A winner over this trip 5 starts back when leading all the way, he has been runner-up in 3 of his 4 since, all at Marburg. He can chase valiantly.

MONTANA LAD (4) took on the Aspirational last start from gate 5 and was wide for a good portion of the trip before making an error. Settling handy enough in transit, he can be an improver in this.

SEA HAWKE (10) can be forgiven for his latest outing when striking trouble and his chances vanished. 2nd the start prior when only beaten a head, look for him working home strongly here.

SELECTIONS: BANGKOK BRAVADO (2), RAGING INFERNO (11), MONTANA LAD (4), SEA HAWKE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK BRAVADO (2) to win
