Racing Queensland and the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club today advised that minor adjustments to race starting procedures at Capalaba are to be implemented as of Sunday, January 9, 2022.

The changes aim to ensure a consistent time delay between the green light activation and the commencement of lure driving.

Currently, there is a time delay following the completion of boxing and the activation of the green light.

From January 9, the green light will be activated as soon as boxing is completed with a short delay before the lure commences.

Little change will be experienced by greyhounds racing under the new procedures.

Trainers wishing to trial their greyhounds under the new procedures are advised that the Capalaba club will provide free four dog trials at trial sessions on Fridays, December 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.

The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission stewards will review some of the trial sessions to ensure the suitability of the new procedures.

All Capalaba trials – single and field – after Friday December 31, will be conducted to the new procedures that will apply at all race meetings, commencing January 9.
