RACE TWO

Fitter again following two runs back from a freshen, STREITKID (4) loves the mile and loves to run it hard in front. He gets the mile, and he looks set to get to the front, which will play to his strengths. Putting them away from the front last start in a sub 53 mile, he can look to dictate.

B MAC C (1) had the perfect trip in behind the speed here last week from this same gate over the 2138m. Trying to muster up the passing lane, he could not reel in the leader in finishing with the silver. Attacking the line hard the start prior, he has the gate to again take the snipers shot.

KEY LARGO (9) secured the ideal trip in behind the speed here last week and when the passing lane presented, he was able to make the closing shot a winning one. In top form this campaign, he cannot be overlooked.

EL AGUILA (7) is afforded no favours from this alley as he goes in search of a hat-trick. Firing out from gate 3 to take them all the way last week in a strong mile, he can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: STREITKID (4), B MAC C (1), KEY LARGO (9), EL AGUILA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: STREITKID (4) to win

RACE THREE

Starting from this same gate in the Band 5 Final two weeks back, ITALIAN LAD (10) made a mid-race move in trying to stay in advance of GOVERNOR JUJON. With a 28.1 second quarter where he was applying the pressure to get to the front, he only wilted in the closing stages. Back to this grade looks ideal.

BALDUCCI (8) has started to find the form he was displaying prior to heading to Qld and after a small flat patch of form has been runner-up twice and a winner in his past 4 starts. From the pocket trail last time, he landed the winning blow and with a similar trip can look for the same result.

JUMPING JACK JIMMY (1) set the speed from this same gate last week and despite looking to be under heavy pressure at the turn, rallied strongly to hold on for the silver. The gate is his ally again.

COMMODORE JUJON (9) was sent to sit parked last start and after working hard in the run was still giving when 4m in arrears of the winner. Beaten a lip the start prior, he can be joining in again here.

SELECTIONS: ITALIAN LAD (10), BALDUCCI (8), JUMPING JACK JIMMY (1), COMMODORE JUJON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8-9-10

RACE FOUR

An intriguing FFA battle with just the front line adding an extra element to the mix. With a pair of sharp returns in the recent features BLACKSADANCE (4) had drawn inside the 2nd line on both occasions. Strong to the line in the Qld Cup after being buried, he closed smartly in the sprint. He can press forward and look to cash in.

TURN IT UP (1) was used early to lead them up in the Be Good Johnny but was unable to finish them off thereafter. Taking a trail in the Qld Cup, he chased hard behind MACH DA VINCI to grab the silver. The option for the trail is on offer here and taking the trail could be the option to see it out.

SPEECH IS SILVER (5) eased to find position last start over the 2138m and was again charging home in slick closing panels despite being 8m in arrears. The smaller field will aid his charging chances.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (2) can dart straight down the poles here and whether he can be leaders back or 3 back, will be in a great position to chime into the minors.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (4), TURN IT UP (1), SPEECH IS SILVER (5), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (4) to win

RACE FIVE

Gunned down in the latter stages at each of his past 3 starts, GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) might just have found the right conditions here to see it out. Last start over the mile it was a 2nd division qualifier and THE IDEAL DANCER grabbed him and it was BALDUCCI at his previous start. This time the sniper may not have the bullets.

ONE LAST ROLL (2) was angled to the pegs from gate 10 last start and from back in the pack was picking off some late metres behind THE IDEAL DANCER. A winner 3 starts back when taking them all the way, he can have an early look and might find space to squeeze into the trail to aid his chances.

YOUNG CONQUEROR (6) eased from gate 4 last start and was soon back in the field with the closing speed making it near impossible for the chasers. The gate stings but he can be in the mix here.

THE IDEAL DANCER (4) secured the perfect trip from gate 1 here last week and made the closing shot a winning one when grabbing GLENEAGLE WARRIOR. The gate makes it tricky here.

SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1), ONE LAST ROLL (2) YOUNG CONQUEROR (6), THE IDEAL DANCER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) to win

RACE SIX

This should be a good quality 2YO contest and made interesting with LEAP TO FAME (8) drawn on the 2nd line. Hustling early to burrow through and protect the front last time, he fought off the challengers and zipped home in slick 27.2 closing panel. The options are a big plus for this battle.

AWAYWEGO (3) found the front prior to releasing 2 starts back and held on for the bronze when within 2m of the winner TEDDY DISCO. Taking a good shot for the front last start, he was repelled and could not go on with it. The front could be his and from there he can throw down the challenge.

BANGKOK DEEJAY (2) was 2nd up from a spell last week when settling in the running line from gate 2. With a solid tempo up front, he descended on them to claim a smart victory. With added experience he can take another step.

RACY ROXY (6) was game in defeat here last week after pressing to the front from gate 5 before being harangued in front in a sizzling 26.1 opener. Given no peace it was brave in finishing 8m from the winner.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (8), AWAYWEGO (3), BANGKOK DEEJAY (2), RACY ROXY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

JUDDY DOUGLAS (2)
was beaten by gate 7 last start when snagging back and then against the tempo was solid in the closing stages when not too far off them. Mixing his form in recent outings, his win here 5 starts back was strong and from this gate he can look to take control.

THE BANKER (1) was snagged back from gate 4 last start and settling back in the pack was able to really attack the line in nice order. Not too far away despite the numbers not reflecting the returns in recent times, he should get the economical trip and be ready to throw down a closing challenge.

FIRST STRING (4) found the poles from gate 5 last start and despite being buried in the run was picking off some late metres to grab the bronze behind THE IDEAL DANCER. If he can slide forward early, can be close enough to feature.

PINUP BOY (5) was resuming from a spell last start when finding the pocket trail over the mile and chiming in for the bronze. Settling handy to the action he can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: JUDDY DOUGLAS (2), THE BANKER (1), FIRST STRING (4), PINUP BOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JUDDY DOUGLAS (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

In terrific form with wins in 3 of her past 5 starts and beating most of these same performer’s home in recent starts, SCOTTS RAIN (5) can look to capitalise on an improved alley. From gate 10 last start she was wide off the track and only a head away from the prize. An easy winner 2 starts back, she has a firm grasp on this.

MAGGIE (9) was shooting for a hat-trick last start when beaten by gate 7 but still hitting the line in nice order when 7m from the winner. Buried away the start prior, there was plenty to like in how she attacked the line over the closing stages and with an even slice of luck can make a challenge.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (1) has the early speed to decide where and who she positions in front or behind of. Midfield last start behind HELLO ITS ME, she grabbed the bronze the start prior and is in the mix again.

GET READY TO ROCK (4) has been a super consistent mare in recent times with a top-3 in 7 of her 8 starts. Pressing on to find the front last start, she went down fighting when just a half-neck away.

SELECTIONS: SCOTTS RAIN (5), MAGGIE (9), SHEZ ALL STYLE (1), GET READY TO ROCK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SCOTTS RAIN (5) to win

RACE NINE

Really jumping out of the ground in recent times, SIR FAHRENHEIT (9) is in the zone with 4 wins in his past 5 starts, with the only miss a game 2nd when collared in the closing strides by RED CASTLETON. Getting out late and charging to the line last start, he will need to overcome 30m but is up to the task.

GEE UP NEDDY (6) has missed a placing twice in his past 6 starts, making errors in both of those events to scuttle his chances. It was a mobile start last time when making the error which had followed a gritty effort when holding on for 3rd. From 10m he can throw down a challenge here.

IM THE COMMANDO (2) found the front last start, but a flat tyre made it tough going and he was unable to see it out. Game after working hard the start prior and holding 3rd, he can chime in from the front tape.

KINGDOM COME (7) loves to come with one closing challenge and tucked away on the poles will be one to watch in the stretch. Hitting the line strongly when 6m from CLAUDYS PRINCE last start, he can be making a late play.

SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (9), GEE UP NEDDY (6), IM THE COMMANDO (2), KINGDOM COME (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (9) to win

RACE TEN

It might be tucked away at the backend of the card, but this 3YO battle should be a great race. Backing up from a mid-week victory, GENERAL MONTANA (2) was put in front soon after the start from gate 6 and pulled clear for an effortless victory. With no 2nd line, the chance to dart in behind the speed is a plus.

BIG WHEELS (1) will be further tightened from his 2 runs back from a spell where he has placed on both occasions in the 3YO features. Pressing on to take the front from gate 5 last time, he was trying to fight them off over the 2138m when 4m from the winner. A return to the mile looks palatable.

MANILA PLAYBOY (6) tackled a qualifier last start against the older performers and from a 2nd line gate was settled back in the pack before attacking the line wide off the track in smart fashion. The wide gate does him no favours.

CHAMONIX (5) made the most of a gate advantage over his main danger when resuming from a spell and sent to the front over the 2138m was able to fight them off to score. That advantage is against him here.

SELECTIONS: GENERAL MONTANA (2), BIG WHEELS (1), MANILA PLAYBOY (6), CHAMONIX (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GENERAL MONTANA (2) to win
