RACE TWO

MISS KENNY (1) ran her rivals ragged last start when getting to the front and keeping the speed on all the way in a strong 2138m trip, holding on for victory over ARGYLE BEACH. Taking out a claiming event 3 starts back again when leading throughout over the middle distance, she will be gripping on.

CHAPTER ONE (5) was returning from a freshen over the mile 2 starts back when set alight early from this same gate. Finding the front he withstood all challengers and took them all the way. Pressing on to the pegs last start he was grabbed up the passing lane and will put the pressure on.

THE IDES OF MARCH (6) has been in good touch and took out a qualifier here 2 starts back when pressing on to the front from gate 5 and proving too strong. Fighting hard from the breeze last start he will be in the mix again.

BATTLE BORN (11) returns from a break and has been given a solid pipe-opener at the trials to prepare for his return. Only 1.5m from BODHI TREE 2 starts back with even luck he can arrive late.

SELECTIONS:
MISS KENNY (1), CHAPTER ONE (5), THE IDES OF MARCH (6), BATTLE BORN (11)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

WHISKEY BLAZE (9) started from barrier 11 last start and was near the rear when the leader cracked at the 400m he was 3-4 lengths from the winner VETTEL. The widest runner turning for home, he hit the line strongly. His past 2 starts have been from gates 11 & 12 and with the right trail through can swoop over the top.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (2) made the most of getting back to the main draw by pressing on to the front from gate 2 over the mile last start and once in control kept them chasing. Better suited at the mile he can be 1st to the pegs and with the options available will be fighting hard to the line.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (1) worked hard in the run here on Tues when facing the breeze and dug in for the fight when 7m from the in-form LILAC FLASH. With the cosy trip he will be probing for an opening.

MY ULTIMATE FELLA (12) did the heavy lifting 2 starts back in the breeze when holding 3rd behind the swooping MR MEDDLE. Too strong in a mid-week race last start from the breeze, the gate hurts his chances here.

SELECTIONS: WHISKEY BLAZE (9), JACKS AT THE BEACH (2), SUBTLE DELIGHT (1), MY ULTIMATE FELLA (12)
SUGGESTED BET: WHISKEY BLAZE (9) to win

RACE FOUR

JANUARY (3)
is racing in great touch and scored in mares company last start over the 2138m trip to make it a top 3 finish in 14 of her past 18 starts. 5 starts back at Redcliffe over the mile she was charging late in a strong rate to get within a half-neck of THE IDES OF MARCH and she can finish best here.

NUI TOC TIEN (4) will strip fitter following his latest start when 1st up from a break. Settling back in the pack he was charging late to be within 4m of the winner BET IM SPECIAL. A 3rd to HOLY CAMP CLIVE after starting from gate 10 prior to his spell, he will be swooping hard.

NONE BETTOR (7) will be tightened from his run here on Tues when resuming from a freshen. Starting from this same gate he pressed on to the front and it took the in-form LILAC FLASH to run him down.

SWEET AS (1) looked to take them all the way from gate 3 here on Tues over the mile and was grabbed right on the line by EL MAJOR. With the good alley once again she will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: JANUARY (3), NUI TOC TIEN (4), NONE BETTOR (7), SWEET AS (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

HARD TO HEAR (1) settled back in the pack here 4 runs back and when asked for a sprint really closed out hard in running a sub 55 closing half. Finishing off wide out again when sprinting hard last start for 2nd to LENNY THE LEGEND, he will get a cosy trip and take the closing shot.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (4) finished beaten a long way last start when returning from a let-up in a strongly run 2138m trip. Back to the mile here will suit and firing out early if able to find the pegs, he can do his best work in front and a sharper effort can be expected.

EVERYTHING (10) will take further benefit from his latest start when 2nd up in Qld and from a break. Starting in red figures from gate 1 he couldn’t see it out. Chasing them home here he has place claims.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (8) set a strong tempo in front last start and fought on gamely to hold 4th behind the big winner SSOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE. With a slice of luck from this alley he will be probing for a gap.

SELECTIONS: HARD TO HEAR (1), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (4), EVERYTHING (10), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (8)
SUGGESTED BET: HARD TO HEAR (1) to win

RACE SIX

WATCH PULP FICTION (4)
went back from gate 6 last start over the 2138m trip and came with a sizzling finish, running some slick sections on the way home to get within 2m of the winner GLENFERRIE HOOD. Luckless his previous start, he can find position here and can provide some value around the main players.

ALLELUIA (5) could only get within 6m of GLENFERRIE HOOD last start when in search of his 5th successive victory. Starting from the 2nd line in that contest he was hitting the line in good fashion. He faces a tricky alley here but is in superb touch and will relish the extra distance.|

GLENFERRIE HOOD (8) bounced back to winning form last start when finding the pegs from gate 3 and then setting a solid tempo in front over the 2138m trip. Able to get away from the pegs early, the distance is the main concern.

OHOKA PUNTER (1) has claimed the bronze at his past 3 in succession the latest when working home strongly from the 2nd line and beaten 4m behind GLENFERRIE HOOD. Stoked up early here would be no surprise as he looks for his 1st win in close to 18 months.

SELECTIONS: WATCH PULP FICTION (4), ALLELUIA (5), GLENFERRIE HOOD (8), OHOKA PUNTER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: WATCH PULP FICTION (4) each-way

RACE SEVEN

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (6) was too strong from gate 12 when resuming from a spell here 2 starts back over the 2138m trip and powered home to a big win. Put the pen through the 2nd up run when striking trouble, he bounced back with a tough win from gate 11 last start. He should be too strong.

ITS JUST KENNY (9) wasn’t far away 3 starts back when resuming from a spell with the effort not reflected in the result. 2nd up he chased hard when running BELLS BEACH HOUSE to a head and with the added fitness sprinted sharply to score over the mile last start. He will be looking to swoop late.

POMPIDOU (2) has worked his way back into good touch and after having a shot for the pegs last start was able to angle in for the trail when 4m from the winner. He will be right in the fight from this alley.

SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (8) went to Menangle on a 2 start campaign that returned a 1m 2nd to JOES STAR OF MIA and 5th to the same in-form runner in the final. He will need his share of luck but can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (6), ITS JUST KENNY (9), POMPIDOU (2), SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

OUR MAJOR DAY (7)
doesn’t receive any favours from this gate but should still find this easier than his past 2 starts. With his condition just fading 3 starts back when resuming from a break and grabbed on the line, he has taken on some handy types his past 2 and he can overcome the gate.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9) did his share of work in the run here 3 starts back when holding on for the bronze behind the handy ONE OFF. Luckless from gate 7 at his next start in a conditioned race behind MY ULTIMATE FELLA, his latest effort at Marburg was handy and with even luck has claims.

ELMAUR JOY (3) went to the front from this gate last start over this same trip and was trying to fight them off in the closing stages when only 2m from the winner. 1st to the pegs she will be gripping on.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (12) was wide off the track and finished too strongly at Marburg on Mon to arrive for a head margin. 3rd in a 2nd division qualifier here 4 starts back he can feature despite the gate.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (7), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9), ELMAUR JOY (3), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (12)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (7) to win

RACE NINE

OUR OVERANOVA (8)
made the most of the mobile conditions last start over the 2138m trip when displaying his class and scoring his 40th Albion Park victory. Starting fav in a similar race to this 2 starts back he was 9m from the winner RELEVEN DREAM and meeting him 15m better here can turn the tables.

MIRACLE RISING (2) is 2 from 2 since arriving in Aus with a win from the mobile and 1 from the tapes. Starting from 40m last start at Redcliffe over the 2280m trip he was sent forward early to find the breeze and packed too many guns to score by 11m. This is a step up in class but the front is a big plus.

RELEVEN DREAM (7) was luckless in the run when snagged back to find position 4 starts back and then was a 1m 2nd behind MAYBETOTHEMAX. Able to make the most of the conditions over the 2647m trip 2 starts back in scoring he is right in this
.
MELPARK ROYAL SON (6) will be 1st up from a spell but has been to the trials 5 times in readiness for his return. With a cosy trip he can chime into the exotics and will take benefit from this run.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (8), MIRACLE RISING (2), RELEVEN DREAM (7), MELPARK ROYAL SON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (8) to win

RACE TEN

NERIO (11)
is knocking on the door to win a mares qualifier and despite a tough alley can look to make the most of her chances. Sent forward from gate 7 last start she did all the work and went down fighting when beaten 3m. That followed a nice 3rd behind ARGYLE BEACH and she can breakthrough.

ARTFUL MAID (1) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start and despite striking some trouble was able to hold on for the silver behind MAYWYNS COURAGE. That followed a tough run from the 2nd line and with good early speed will be right in the firing line in this with the mares only a big plus.

NOVENA ROSE (6) has been freshened since her latest outing when scoring a strong win in a Marburg to Albion Final. 2nd to the smart filly DARKERSHADEOFPALE here 2 starts back in a mares qualifier, the gate hurts but she can look to throw down a challenge.

STEVIE DEE (7)
is on the short back-up from Thurs and despite the tough gate warrants consideration here. With wins in 3 of her past 4 starts, prior to Thurs with even luck in the run she can look to find the podium.

SELECTIONS: NERIO (11), ARTFUL MAID (1), NOVENA ROSE (6), STEVIE DEE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NERIO (11) to win
