RACE TWO

UNDER WORKED (6) was probably not going to get there last start but when he locked wheels when trying to make his run, it ensured he got nowhere near them. Charging home 2 starts back when beaten a nose hair when after 4 wins on the bounce, he can look for redemption here.

BETTOR VISION (4) tackled a band 5 event last start when easing from gate 5 to find position before making a closing challenge when 3m from the winner BLUE MOON RISING. A smart winner the start prior from a wide gate when finishing over the top, he can settle handy before making his challenge.

THE SHADY ONE (1) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start and with the economical trip thereafter was trying to launch the closing raid when just a half-neck in arrears. He will probe again.

SAM IS PERFECTION (10) was dropping back into this grade 2 starts back when he went to the line with plenty to offer but never getting into space. Beaten by gate 7 last start, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: UNDER WORKED (6), BETTOR VISION (4), THE SHADY ONE (1), SAM IS PERFECTION (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Having worked his way back into form with a top-two at his past three outings, KEY LARGO (1) comes up with the ideal alley to cash-in. Grabbed in the last strides by FRANCO HAMPTON last start after leading nearly all the way, there does not look too much pressure drawn to his outside and from the ace gate, this looks right in the wheelhouse.

THE DEMOCRAT (8) is drawn to get the ideal trip in behind the speed and will be relying on taking the closing shot in the stretch. Striking trouble in the run last start, it followed a pair of placings including a 7m 3rd to KEY LARGO. He will be coiled ready to strike.

SLICK BLASTER (9) was shooting for a hat-trick here 2 starts back when striking a white-hit DEUS EX and finishing down the line. With the chance to drop to the poles for the easy trip, he can chime in.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (10) had been threatening for a long time to breakthrough in qualifying grade and last start delivered when using the passing lane for an overdue victory. He can look to build off that here.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (1), THE DEMOCRAT (8), SLICK BLASTER (9), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 8-9-10

RACE FOUR

It has now been 11 weeks since the running of the Blacks A Fake and in that time just one horse can claim outright to have won two FFA events and that is TURN IT UP (1). Both those wins have come when leading throughout at the mile and 2138m and from the gate and his wicked early hustle, he can make it 3 on the bounce and assume the vacant title of Qld’s best open class performer.

BLACKSADANCE (8) has one of those FFA wins since July 24 when he put on a power running clinic to claim a 1.51.8 mile. Sent for a freshen following that effort on August 14, he was back at the track last week when easing off the gate and attacking the line with gusto to be just a lip from the winner SPEECH IS SILVER. He will be coiled ready to take the snipers shot.

COLT THRITY ONE (2) has been given a freshen, a trial and some extra time to get back into his groove as he searches for winning form. Chasing for silver behind CARDLESFROMHEAVEN last start, he may need to do it the tough way here.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3) has been running some slippery closing splits, his latest when beaten by gate 6 of 6. Placed his previous 3, he can be close enough to chime into the action late.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (1), BLACKSADANCE (8), COLT THRITY ONE (2), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN IT UP / BLACKSADANCE 1/8 quinella and exacta

RACE FIVE

Having an early look from gate 2 last start before grabbing up to land the 1x1 trail, TOMMY LINCOLN (8) looks set to secure the perfect trip in behind the speed here. Just 5m from SPEECH IS SILVER in the FFA last week, he was asked to roll the sleeves for the tough stuff outside TURN IT UP the week prior. He will be probing ready to strike.

MACH DA VINCI (7) gets into this contest nicely after claiming victory in the Open ranks last start when powering up from gate 3 to find the front and take them all the way in a PB 1.51.1 mile. Beaten a nose hair the start prior by OUR UNCLE SAM, the big query comes from gate 7 and the fact he comes into this first up in six weeks without a trial.

LOMBO HEAVEN (1) fired out from the two-hole last start looking to take them all the way and went within 1.5m of achieving the feat. Taking them all the way 3 starts back, he will be gripping on.

KASH US BACK (4) eased from gate 5 to find position last start and was making some good metres in the closing stages when within 2m of the winner. Not much is really going his way of late, and he can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY LINCOLN (8), MACH DA VINCI (7), LOMBO HEAVEN (1), KASH US BACK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY LINCOLN (8) to win

RACE SIX

A winner of 2 on the bounce that included a smart win in a grade tougher than what he faces here, YOUNG CONQUEROR (3) went within a head of the winner last start when searching for the hat-trick. He drops back to qualifying grade here and with the early hustle can look to dictate.

DESPONDENT (1) steps up in grade here but has that offset by landing an improved alley after facing some tough gates in recent weeks. Closing out in nice order behind DOUBLE OR NOTHING last start when just 4m in arrears, he was 2m away the start prior when buried. He can be ready to snipe.

BALDUCCI (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start when angled away from the poles early to find the running line. Down the line when chasing, it followed a fade out when not coping after being forced to face the breeze.

ANOTHER STATEMENT (7) has no favours from the tough gate but should find this a little easier than recent outings. Outgunned last time by the smart KIWIS ARE FLYING, he hit the board his previous 5 on in a row and can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: YOUNG CONQUEROR (3), DESPONDENT (1), BALDUCCI (4), ANOTHER STATEMENT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: YOUNG CONQUEROR (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

From the 2nd line here last week in the increased stakes race for the mares, VOUCHERS (3) was making some late ground to grab the bronze behind DELIGHTFUL REASON. 5m away the start prior when unable to reel in EL AGUILA, she finds the gate and the conditions to end a winless streak approaching 12 months.

OUR ANTONIO ROSE (9) was well-supported to start favourite here last week from gate 10 and after settling in a rearward position never really looked likely to eat into the deficit. After a smart trial in preparation for what was her first Qld appearance, she can look to be sharper here.

JEWEL OF PEAK (4) fired out from gate 3 last week and was trying to fight them off but DELIGHTFUL REASON was able to gun her down. An all the way winner 3 starts back, she can throw some early heat out here.

MOLLIESMARYELLE (1) was shuffled back in the run here last week from gate 2 could not get warm over the closing stages. Runner-up 2 starts back when chasing COBBITY CASTLE, the gate is a big assist.

SELECTIONS: VOUCHERS (3), OUR ANTONIO ROSE (9), JEWEL OF PEAK (4), MOLLIESMARYELLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: VOUCHERS (3) to win

RACE NINE

First up from a spell here last week off the back of a tidy trial, SCARLET BABE (7) was able to overcome this same gate over this trip after retreating in the early stages. Saved for the closing shot, she had superior stretch speed to arrive for a smart win. Fitter for that outing, the small field is in her favour and gives her the chance to rinse and repeat.

VIRGIL (6) was sent to the post as fav last start and from gate 4 over the mile was sent to sit parked but could not see it out when fading late as KANENA PROVLIMA arrived. Runner-up his previous 3 in succession, the wide gate dampens his chances again, but the small field should offset that impediment.

DREAM TO SHARE (5) stepped out of the claiming ranks last start and from gate 6 was required to roll the sleeves but was in for the fight when holding 2nd behind NURBURGRING. He can be thereabouts again here.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (3) was gripping on in front last start over the 2138m but could not repel the final challenge of CAPTAIN NEMO. Settling handy from this alley he can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SCARLET BABE (7), VIRGIL (6), DREAM TO SHARE (5), CLASSIE AMERICAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SCARLET BABE (7) to win

RACE TEN

ONE NIGHT OUT (1)
was beaten by the conditions at Redcliffe mid-week when the 20m tape and forced to chase around The Triangle was not to his liking. A winner here 3 starts back when finishing over the top of them in the latter stages, his run 2 back when not far from NORTHERN MUSCLE had merit and he gets his chance here to capitalise.

GEE UP NEDDY (7) has been in the money at his past 3 in succession, the latest when closing hard to be just a neck shy of the prize as NORTHERN MUSCLE took the cash. That was from the 40m tape, the same impost he faces here and with good manners, he can be in the action to throw down the challenge.

KINGDOM COME (5) was a winner under similar conditions here 3 starts back when charging home in the closing stages to snare the win. Again, making ground in the closing stages last start, he can slot in and with the small field be making a closing play.

JUSTABITNOISY (6) has not tasted victory for some time, but his recent runs have been full of merit, the latest when grabbing the silver when just 3m from the winner MORE SHADES OF GOLD.

SELECTIONS: ONE NIGHT OUT (1), GEE UP NEDDY (7), KINGDOM COME (5), JUSTABITNOISY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ONE NIGHT OUT (1) to win
