RACE TWO

Still searching for a maiden victory, SHAKIN SHAKIRA (3) might just have found the conditions for the breakthrough. Put a line through her latest start when striking trouble in the run, her effort at Redcliffe 2 starts back in maiden company was sound when grabbed in the closing stages.

HALLY GUINEVERE (9)
has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest when finding the front from gate 4 and then grabbed in the closing stages when 2m from EULO FLYER. Only a half-neck from the winner the start prior after starting from the 2nd line, she can throw down a challenge here.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (1) ended a long winless streak last start when making the most of the passing lane to claim a 2m victory. With a soft run on offer from this alley, she can chime in late.

THE LAST DRAGON (4) was locked away on the pegs over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 back and was attacking the line strongly to get within a neck of the winner. Charging late last start, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SHAKIN SHAKIRA (3), HALLY GUINEVERE (9), TORQUE TO THE MAX (1), THE LAST DRAGON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SHAKIN SHAKIRA (3) to win

RACE THREE

TRENT FROM PUNCHY (5) made his Qld debut in style when swooping home to claim a good win here 3 starts back, taking a 6m margin. He faced a tough task 2nd up when snagged back early and with the closing tempo set from the front too sharp. Finding position cheaply, he can arrive.

SPORTS STORY (6) started from the 2nd line last start over the Redcliffe 2040m and finding the 1x1 trail was hitting the line in good order to finish 1m from the winner SPONDOOLEY. Her run 2 back was a tough effort when game in defeat behind GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT and she has claims here.

DYNAMIC DEEJAY (1) went to the front from the three-hole last start and looking to dictate, had no answer for the winner TELL THE FUTURE, but held on for 2nd. With the options he is in the mix.

MONUMENTAL (8) will have early options as the lone 2nd line runner and can work off early if required. In the money at his past 5 in succession, including a pair of wins, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: TRENT FROM PUNCHY (5), SPORTS STORY (6), DYNAMIC DEEJAY (1), MONUMENTAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TRENT FROM PUNCHY (5) to win

RACE FOUR

HEAVENS HURRICANE (3)
started here at The Creek 3 runs back and from gate 4 eased back into the running line when mid-field to MAJESTIC KIWI. His run from back in the pack here 4 starts back was a tidy effort when chasing home behind TOMMY UNDER FIRE. With early speed he can dictate.

PITTSWORTH MAN (5) chased gamely to grab the silver behind GREGS LEGACY over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back and then last start didn’t have the cleanest run in transit. Its been a while between drinks, but with some factors in his favour, look for him swooping home hard.

GRIZZLY MONTANA (4) has been thereabouts with a top-3 in 3 of his past 4 outings. From the pacing lane last start he grabbed 2nd to ROYAL LINCOLN and limiting the burn, he can feature.

HAVANA MOON (1) was locked away against the poles last start when chasing home and finishing 11m from GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT. With the soft trip available, she can look for the gaps in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: HEAVENS HURRICANE (3), PITTSWORTH MAN (5), GRIZZLY MONTANA (4), HAVANA MOON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PITTSWORTH MAN (5) each-way

RACE FIVE

Having been around the money but unable to cash-in at recent starts, FLYING WINGARD (4) can look to make the most of conditions here. Sent forward early in stronger company here 2 starts back, he found the pocket trail and held on for silver to MAJESTIC KIWI. With early speed he can dictate here.

SPONDOOLEY (8) was rushed off the arm last start from gate 3 and finding the front was able to control the speed and keep them chasing to score. He will be relying on a slice of luck here but with the cosy trip against the markers can be dressed and ready to roll in the stretch.

NON PASSARE (5) was after a hat-trick of Redcliffe victories on Thurs when finishing just in behind them. Packing too much heat in the closing stages for the 2nd win, he can swoop late here.

GUTS (7) has no favours from this gate, yet if able to find position cheaply can be a factor. This is easier than recent assignments, his run 2 back in a 2nd division qualifier a tidy effort.

SELECTIONS: FLYING WINGARD (4), SPONDOOLEY (8), NON PASSARE (5), GUTS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FLYING WINGARD (4) to win

RACE SIX

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (3) will take good benefit from his Qld debut when stepping out for the 1st time in 9 months. Pressing on to find the front over the mile, after a steady opening 800m, the tempo was dialled up and through a 27.6 3rd panel was put away at the 400m. This is easier and he can capitalise.

NIKALONG HENRY (9) didn’t get the cleanest trip last time out when finishing mid-field but only 7m from the winner. A beaten fav the start prior after working wide off the track in the closing lap, he can look to secure the right trip here and be chiming in late.

PEGGY STARDUST (1) tried to take them all the way 2 starts back and after a steady tempo couldn’t see it out, settling for the silver. On the back-up from Thurs, she has podium claims from the ace.

RAGING INFERNO (7) started from outside the front line at Redcliffe last start and rolling forward controlled the tempo in the breeze in proving too strong. This is harder, but he can be in the numbers.

SELECTIONS: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (3), NIKALONG HENRY (9), PEGGY STARDUST (1), RAGING INFERNO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

He may not have the best numbers next to his name, yet CIRCLE LINE (2) finds the conditions here to rectify that. Not suited from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start, he was luckless the start prior from gate 7 here over the mile. With good speed out of the machine, he can fight them off.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (3) sat it in the pocket trail last start from gate 1 and using the passing lane was 3.5m from the winner AQUA MISS. A winner 4 starts back when finishing best in the closing stages to score over CHARLYSE, he can settle handy here and is right in the fight.

THERESACHANCE (1) will be further tightened from his latest start when 2nd up from a spell. Starting off the 2nd line he worked home well behind THE ANNOUNCER and from the gate can challenge.

OCEANS PREDATOR (6) resumes from a spell and had been meeting some hand performers prior to the break. A winner of a 2nd division qualifier here 5 starts back, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: CIRCLE LINE (2), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (3), THERESACHANCE (1), OCEANS PREDATOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-6

RACE EIGHT

RANFURLY RULZ (1) started from the 2nd line at Redcliffe over the 2040m trip 2 starts back when attacking the line in good style to grab 2nd when only a head from the winner. Backing-up from Thurs at Redcliffe where he again hit the line nicely, with a cosy trip he can take the closing shot.

ELMAUR JOY (5) was sent forward from this same gate last start to take control over this trip. Looking to increase the tempo in the latter stages, she couldn’t repel the challenge of the handy ROYAL LINCOLN in the breeze. Placed in all 4 previous starts, she has slick early moves.

MONTANA CHIEF (2) should appreciate the improved barrier after facing some tough gates in recent starts. Pressing ahead from gate 6 to lead 2 starts back, he was only 3m in arrears and last start set a sizzling tempo in front at Redcliffe and only faded late. He can throw down the challenge.

TOPNOTCH MACH (8) was sent to the front last start from gate 4 over the 2040m and setting a good tempo was collared in the closing stages, beaten a head. With a soft trip here, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: RANFURLY RULZ (1), ELMAUR JOY (5), MONTANA CHIEF (2), TOPNOTCH MACH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: RANFURLY RULZ (1) to win
