RACE TWO

WATTLEBANK FLYER (10) was facing a task last week when trying to chase as PEMBROOKS PASSION was setting a sizzling closing 800m tempo. The start prior there was plenty to like in the way he found the line behind TENNYSON BROMAC and the return to the claiming ranks is a big plus here.

CASINO TOMMY (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 when starting from terrible gates. Landing gate 12 over the sprint trip 2 starts back he was working home strongly to grab the silver and followed that with a 1m 2nd from gate 7 over the 2138m trip. With an improved gate he gets every chance.

DIVAS DELIGHT (8) packed the biggest punch from the 2nd line here 2 starts back when arriving in time to score a 1.5m victory. Angled off the pegs from this gate last start, he can be coiled this time.

ZAC MAC (2) should appreciate the improved gate after facing a string of tough draws in recent starts. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, he made good closing metres and has pace hopes here.

SELECTIONS: WATTLEBANK FLYER (10), CASINO TOMMY (1), DIVAS DELIGHT (8), ZAC MAC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WATTLEBANK FLYER (10) to win

RACE THREE

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (9) was in search of a hat-trick of victories last start when unable to find position from gate 3 at the mile he soon found himself at the back of the pack. Too far back against a sharp tempo up front, he was unable to work into it. Returning to the 2138m suits and he can arrive.

FIOKI (1) finished over the top of them here 4 starts back to grab victory by a half-neck over this trip. Not far away from gate 6 at his next start behind the in-form TENNYSON BROMAC, his effort here last week was solid when 4m away. With the perfect trip on offer, he will be probing for gaps.

SQUIRE (4) found running line cover from gate 5 here last week and with a strong tempo unfolding up front was able to swoop home to victory. With a similar trip on offer here, look for him closing.

BEE GEES BANDIT (3) made the most of a re-take move to light the lamps here 2 starts back and with no pressure ripped home to score. Tough in the breeze last start, he will be in for the fight again.

SELECTIONS: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (9), FIOKI (1), SQUIRE (4), BEE GEES BANDIT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (9) to win

RACE FOUR

With options available as the lone 2nd line runner, LEOS BEST (8) can look for some better luck here. His runs have been better than the returns at his past 3, the latest showing an official last, but the run had merit when the tempo was against him after retreating from gate 7. He can bounce back.

PEMBROOKS PASSION (1) didn’t have the best of luck 2 starts back over the Menangle Mile when locked away and finishing within 5m of the winner. Laying down the challenge from the breeze after rolling forward from gate 6 last start, he put them away to score in fine style. He is right in the fight.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (6) made the most of the passing lane to take the closing shot to arrive over the 238m last time out. That followed the narrowest of 2nds to LEOS BEST and he can feature.

This FFA looks to have plenty of chances with TOM ME GUN (5) stepping up to the open class a chance of firing off the arm, AZTEC BROMAC (2) capable of an improved run after facing a tricky gate last start, MACH ALERT (7) a stylish winner last start and WATCH PULP FICTION (3) also a live chance.

SELECTIONS: LEOS BEST (8), PEMBROOKS PASSION (1), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (6), TOM ME GUN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LEOS BEST (8) to win

RACE FIVE

With the early options at his disposal, possessing the speed to lead if required, GREGS LEGACY (1) looks to get conditions to suit in this contest. He took them all the way at Redcliffe 2 starts back over the sprint trip and last start wasn’t suited after landing the carpark gate. This looks his chance.

RANFURLY RULZ (8) went straight to the front from gate 2 last start at Marburg and kept a steady tempo in securing an easy 4.5m victory. Locked away here 2 starts back when crossed early from gate 1, he was sound to the line and with an economical trip can make the 100th start memorable.

FLYING WINGARD (2) speared out of the Hilux last start to lead from gate 4. Securing a lung full of air in a steady 2nd panel, he had plenty in reserve to rip home. This is harder but his early speed is a weapon.

RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (9) might be hard-pressed offering any challenge for victory here, but with the option to look for a soft trip against the pegs, he can be an exotic hope.

SELECTIONS: GREGS LEGACY (1), RANFURLY RULZ (8, FLYING WINGARD (2), RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GREGS LEGACY (1) to win

RACE SIX

PROPHESY (8) was a smart winner here last week, attacking the line strongly in the closing stages, swooping on by and extending out to a 16m margin. With early options as the lone 2nd line runner, she will be tough to stop.

BALLERINA COURU (2) looked to go all the way over this trip 2 starts back, spearing out from gate 3 and the opening panel in a sizzling 26.8 sec. That was enough to just take the sting out of her, finishing a head 2nd when gunned down. Bouncing back with victory here last start, she can go again.

AQUA MISS (5) started fav from gate 6 over the 2138m 2 starts back and was closing out hard but couldn’t reel in the winner BALLERINA COURU. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, she again closed nicely and back to mares company is a plus.

MELANNA BEACH (1) pressed ahead from gate 4 last start to take control and was keen in the lead, just fading the closing stages when 5m in arrears. A winner at her previous 2, she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: PROPHESY (8), BALLERINA COURU (2), AQUA MISS (5), MELANNA BEACH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PROPHESY (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

TENNYSON BROMAC (9) is airborne and has really been flexing his strength in recent starts. Able to sustain a high cruising speed, he looked in trouble here on Tues, but was able to rise from the canvas to deliver a knockout blow in a new career PB. With wins at 5 of his past 6, he looks too smart again.

OUR SEQUEL (6) will take good benefit from his run here last week when having his 1st start in Qld and 1st run in 4 weeks. Pressing on to take up the lamp lighting duties from gate 2, the early tempo was steady before he was run-down in the latter stages. The gate hurts but he can feature.

COBBLER LANE (2) rolled forward from gate 6 here on Tues and rolled the sleeves in the process, putting it to the leader down the back stretch, ultimately falling 3m short. He will fight hard in this.

MAJOR CURRENCY (7) has no favours from this gate against this line-up but with even luck won’t be far away. He found the lune nicely last start from gate 7 for 3rd to make it successive placings. Follow.

SELECTIONS: TENNYSON BROMAC (9), OUR SEQUEL (6), COBBLER LANE (2), MAJOR CURRENCY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TENNYSON BROMAC (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

GINA MACH (2) went straight to the front over the 2138m in mid-week company 2 starts back and after a steady opening 800m of the last mile, was able to ramp the tempo and hold them at bay to score. Best of the rest behind PROPHESY last start, the return to the mile suits and she can hold on.

KINETIC KATE (5) added another minor placing to her tally last start as she continues to race in consistent fashion. Retreating off the gate from the six-hole, she worked home in good order for 3rd behind the big winner PROPHESY. Only 3m in arrears 2 starts back, look for her swooping late.

TASSINI (4) was locked away on the pegs last start over the middle-distance and once the gaps arrived the race was gone. Following a tidy 3rd here 2 starts back, she can work and is in the mix.

IDEAL BLISS (10) has been a beaten fav at her past 2, the latest when sent back to the trials. Earning her ticket back with a handy hit-out, she can look for the effort that saw her place on 3 successive occasions prior to the latest hiccup.

SELECTIONS: GINA MACH (2), KINETIC KATE (5), TASSINI (4), IDEAL BLISS (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-5-10

RACE NINE

The head to head rivalry between OUR OVERANOVA (5) and EMPIRE BAY (6) resumes with the pair having run the quinella in their past 4 outings. While OUR OVERANOVA has been forced to wear the bridesmaids attire at each of those 4, he gets the advantage to turn it around in this.

EMPIRE BAY (6) has put together the 4 victories with 3 of them as a result of his closing sprint being too slick for his rivals. The only all the way win came under mobile conditions at the mile. He draws wider than his main adversary here and if OO can get to the front, he faces a task to run him down.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (2) was sent for a break after 2 runs back in Qld following a Sydney campaign where she wasn’t at her best. Resuming here, she has trialled in good order and has claims 1st up.

LAVROS TEXAS (1) started from the 2nd line last time he went around and made an error in the run that saw him banished to the trials. If mustering the speed to hold them out, he will give cheek.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (5), EMPIRE BAY (6), QUIETLY SPOKEN (2), LAVROS TEXAS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (5) to win
