RACE TWO

Working into some great form over the past six weeks VIRGIL (10) may just have found the right conditions to wave the wand for another victory here. Eased from gate 7 last week, he was charging on the line to get within a neck of the winner. Not much was in his favour the previous 2 starts but with the right cart into this he can arrive.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (2) tackled open company last start when able to slide in behind the leader and winner TURN IT UP soon after the start. Unable to match the speed up the stretch, it was a tidy effort following a 3rd when angled to the pegs from a 2nd line gate. The gate and grade can see him challenge.

MISTERFREEZE (7) rolled forward over this trip last start after starting from the six-hole. Content to sit parked he was in for the fight in grinding out a determined win with a neck to spare. The gate stings but can he repeat?

MAJORDOIT (1) eased from gate 3 to secure position last start and was chasing as WILL THE WIZARD racked up another sizzling mile. 6m from ROCK FISHERMAN the start prior, the gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: VIRGIL (10), SUBTLE DELIGHT (2), MISTERFREEZE (7), MAJORDOIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: VIRGIL (10) to win

RACE THREE

Buried away against the poles in a strong qualifier last week, MAJOR FERNCO (4) was a beaten fav from gate 10 here 2 starts back when not much really worked in his favour. Despite what could potentially be a tricky gate, he was able to overcome gate 6 here 4 starts back when charging home. Back to the mile is a big tick.

THE IDEAL DANCER (1) eased from gate 5 last time out and was trying to pick up late metres as the smart DEUS EX controlled the race. Gate 10 was his undoing the start prior which had followed 4 successive placings and with the good gate looks set to make the challenging play.

GOOD AS IT GETS (9) was strong in victory mid-week here 2 starts back when forging to the front over the 2138m and running a smart last half. Beaten by the gate last week, he can trail through to chime in.

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2) has now had 3 runs back from a spell and comes up with his best gate since the return. Forced to work hard last start, he has speed out of the machine to feature.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR FERNCO (4), THE IDEAL DANCER (1), GOOD AS IT GETS (9), TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR FERNCO (4) to win

RACE FOUR

An absolute source of frustration for connections and punters alike, DOUG (6) just does Doug things and his past 3 starts have seen his chances end without really starting. A winner here 4 starts back when gripping on to claim a blanket finish, stepping from a handicap might just be the difference. His fate will be known early.

RED CASTLETON (8) found the pegs before taking a seat here last time out under mobile conditions and then had the best close out speed to arrive via the passing lane. Not too far away the start prior when chasing behind GODOFTHUNDER, he can look for the trip to again make a closing challenge.

GEE UP NEDDY (7) was safely away from his 30m tape here last week to find the running line and was chasing hard for 3rd behind SIR FAHRENHEIT. Only 7m away the start prior, back to 20m can see him feature.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (10) had been knocking on the door with some tidy efforts that included finishing runner-up in 3 of his previous 4. It all fell into place here last week and he was able to sweep on by for a comfortable victory in track record time. If he has the luck, he can arrive.

SELECTIONS: DOUG (6), RED CASTLETON (8), GEE UP NEDDY (7), SIR FAHRENHEIT (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Landing all the options from this gate KING TRITON (1) looks to have found his chance for a breakthrough. Trying to take them all the way here 2 starts back, he was grabbed in the closing strides by KEAYANG MARVEN. Gate 6 was his undoing last week and he can capitalise here.

BALDUCCI (2) was having his first Qld outing in the strong qualifier claimed last week by DEUS EX. Slammed with gate 12 in that contest, he was trying to make a late rally wide off the track, but the tempo was against him. From the good alley, he can fire some early bullets to make a challenge.

SLICK BLASTER (3) was an impressive last start winner on The Triangle when sent forward from gate 5 and grafting out a strong 9m victory in good time. Settling handy to the action he can feature.

ROCKNROLL DUDE (8) was asked to do it the tough way here 2 starts back when sitting parked and the effort was solid. Hitting the line nicely last start, the cosy trip can see him chime in.

SELECTIONS: KING TRITON (1), BALDUCCI (2), SLICK BLASTER (3), ROCKNROLL DUDE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: KING TRITON (1) to win

RACE SIX

Still looking for a way clear from his last outing when never sighting open road, SAM IS PERFECTION (7) faces a tough gate here but will benefit if the on-paper speed battle occurs on track. A winner from this gate 4 starts back in this grade when powering over the top, his next 2 were in FFA company. After last week’s luckless effort, he can gain redemption.

THE SHADY ONE (2) will strip fitter following his latest outing when resuming from a long spell and making his first appearance back in Qld. Settling in the 1x1 trail, he was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to be within a nose hair of victory. Tucking in and staying out of the early speed can see him challenge.

YOUNG CONQUEROR (1) was settled at the rear last start over the mile and was very wide making a charge to arrive for a smart win. Runner-up to MAJOR FERNCO the start prior, this is a step up but the improved gate is in his favour.

KEY LARGO (5) set the speed here last start over this trip and was in front deep into the stretch, just fading near the wire when 3m from the winner. He can fire the first shots here.

SELECTIONS: SAM IS PERFECTION (7), THE SHADY ONE (2), YOUNG CONQUEROR (1), KEY LARGO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SAM IS PERFECTION (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

WATCH PULP FICTION (6)
has placed his past 2 in this grade and looks ready to strike. He looked to have them covered here last week only for UNDER WORKED to make a winning lunge and the start prior he was only 1m from the winner. The gate stings but he can go one better this time.

TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (2) has placed at his past 3 starts, the latest when using the passing lane to grab the bronze behind UNDER WORKED when 2m from the prize. Only a neck away the start prior, he can look to get to the pegs and from there throw down the challenge.

UNDER WORKED (5) made a successful start to his time in the Sallis stable last week when settling in the 1x1 trail and arriving in the last stride to claim victory. A Menangle winner 2 starts back, he is right in the mix.

STOMPEM (4) found them too slippery last start as WILL THE WIZARD carved it out in front to a slick mile win. Asked to hang tough in this grade 2 starts back when only narrowly beaten, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: WATCH PULP FICTION (6), TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (2), UNDER WORKED (5), STOMPEM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WATCH PULP FICTION (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

Yet to miss the money in 4 starts since arriving in Qld, the early speed from STREITKID (7) out of the machine can see him in the mix again here. Finding the front from gate 6 last time, it was JERADAS DELIGHT that was able to get him in the stretch. Runner-up to the flying MAKE MINE MEMPHIS the start prior, this looks within reach.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (3) eased from gate 7 last time out to settle at the rear before picking off some late metres to grab the bronze behind BOMBADIER JUJON. First to the pegs here 3 starts back prior to releasing for the trail, he can look for similar tactics here and that can see him challenging.

WE SALUTE YOU (1) was a winner here 4 starts back from inside the 2nd line and has not been too far away in the 3 starts since. Effective off the speed, he can be saved here to make a closing play.

HENRY HU (2) found the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line last week but just could not muster the closing speed when they ripped home in front in 27.7. Settling in a similar position for this can see him chime in.

SELECTIONS: STREITKID (7), COURAGEOUS SAINT (3), WE SALUTE YOU (1), HENRY HU (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-7 / 1-2-3-7

RACE NINE

After showing equal parts ability and poor tractability PEPPA BLISS (6) looks to have sorted the issues to go in search of a hat-trick of victories. Rolling forward to sit parked early before receiving cover, she then had the bullets to fire in claiming victory. A big winner the start prior when running slick closing panels, back to her own sex looks ideal.

COBBITY CASTLE (3) has been near faultless with wins in 6 of her past 7 starts with the ‘miss’ a strong 3rd behind the 2YO star on the rise LEAP TO FAME after sitting parked. Rolling to the front here on Tuesday and then pulling clear for a 9m victory, this is her biggest test this campaign, but she just keeps stepping up.

WHICH HUNT (5) eased from this gate last start when trying to make a closing challenge as WAHS FIRE BUG scored easily. Only 2m away behind HOT N GOLD here 2 starts back in making it 5 successive placed runs, she will be right in the fight.

GINATIANO (2) finished over the top of them to claim a PB win 2 starts back when claiming a 2m margin. Chasing gamely for the bronze behind WAHS FIRE BUG last start, she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: PEPPA BLISS (6), COBBITY CASTLE (3), WHICH HUNT (5), GINATIANO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PEPPA BLISS (6) to win

RACE TEN

We have to be patient to see some quality 2YOs strut their stuff and the small field of 6 will provide a good battle. Taking giant strides since resuming from a spell LEAP TO FAME (2) has put together 3 very impressive victories, the past 2 against older rivals and the latest when sitting parked in a 55.3 mile. He lands the gate to take control and can look to extend the streak.

TEDDY DISCO (4) makes a return from a spell following his last appearance in the Triad Final when striking trouble yet able to reset was brave in finishing just 6m from the winner AWAYWEGO. Charging home to score in the Paleface Adios 2 starts back, he has had a pair of trials to prepare for the return and will be throwing it down here.

SOHO CASABLANCA (1) makes his first appearance in Qld after joining the Mark Dux stable and arrives with 2 wins in his 5 career starts. With a tidy trial in readiness for this outing, he can get the easy trip to chime into the money.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (2), TEDDY DISCO (4), SOHO CASABLANCA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (2) to win
