In this incident CHLORIDE clipped the heels of SONADOR ROSE and blundered, LAVRA QUALO shifted out from the heels of CHLORIDE and took HOT SNIPPETY wider, and EEJAY STYLE had to be restrained from the heels of SONADOR ROSE. Jockey Butler stated that no specific instructions had been issued and he had intended to ride the horse as he had previously and he was able to find a favourable position from the awkward barrier. He said that when a run became available to him he was not able to take advantage of it as the horse was not advancing to do so and as a result from the 200m was held up and his mount went to the line untested. Hansen stated that the horse was not ridden suitably at its previous start and today was able to find a position in a handy, midfield position with cover and he was of the opinion that it would race well in races over this distance.
