SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT 18th August, 2016
 
Race 4: Thinkwater/Wandal Need and Feed BenchMark 65 Handicap
 
BIRDIE BLITZ- Trainer Mrs C. Dore reported that no abnormalities became apparent in the days following the event. She said that the horse had been freshened up and she had continued with its preparation.

GENERAL:  Trainer J. Wehlow was fined $200 for disobeying a steward's direction on 22nd August 2016 that all staff are required to wear high visibility vests during trackwork.
 
Race 1: DC Motors Mercedes Benz Race Day QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1200 metres
1st  -  BAUHINIA SID  2nd  -  TWO OF A KIND  3rd  -  CELESTIAL SON  4th  -  ISIS AMBER
 
MAGIC EIGHT BALL - Shifted out at the start and made contact with STAR FROM HEAVEN, then over-raced in the middle stages.
 
Race 2: C Class BenchMark 65 Handicap - 1600 metres  
1st - PULSAR  2nd  -  GLACIER EXPRESS  3rd  -   OZEIN   4th  -  PREEN QUEEN
 
WINSOMEMORE - On jumping shifted out, taking PULSAR out onto NEPTUNE EXPRESS.
 
Race 3: E Class BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1100 metres  
1st - OSSENHAGEN 2nd  -  ZAHA EXPRESS   3rd  -   WILDEBEAST  4th  -  ELJAY ATOM
 
STANATHOL - As Jockey A. Butler was unable to fulfil his engagement, Jockey A Coome was substituted.
 
ANZUS - Apprentice R. Payne reported that her mount hung in on the heels of ELJAY ATOM near the 700 metres, then was held up from the 500 metres until near the 250 metres.
 
ELJAY ATOM - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
WILDEBEAST - Raced wide with cover.
 
OSSENHAGEN - Lost its off fore plate in running.

Race 4: GLS Class Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st  -  BAR STORIES  2nd  -  MISS RICH  3rd  -  DYNAMIC EMBRACE  4th  -  ISIS DE VEGA
 
BAR STORIES - Made contact with NOTHING BUT FUN on jumping. Near the 700 metres became awkward on the heels of FASTNET STORM.
 
MISS RICH - Made contact with FASTNET STORM on jumping.
 
NOTHING BUT FUN - Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover. Rider reported that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
FASTNET STORM - Raced wide without cover.
 
SCATTERED SHOWERS - Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
When questioned regarding his riding and the performance of ISIS DE VEGA, Jockey D. Evans said that he was instructed to begin and settle where comfortable, preferably in a midfield position.  He stated that after beginning well, near the 900 metres he raced in restricted room to the inside of BAR STORIES (Apprentice N. Summers) and as a result raced further back than anticipated. However, in his opinion the mare failed to run on as expected.
 
Race 5: S Class Class 2 Handicap – 1050 metres   
1st  -  METEOR'S MAN  2nd  -  COURTZIG  3rd  -  CLATEAU  4th  -   OUR BOY HOUDINI
 
LIKE BRAND NEW - Refused to load into the barriers. Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching, at 3.47 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on LIKE BRAND NEW be refunded and that the following deductions apply:
 
            8¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, METEOR'S MAN
            11¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, METEOR'S MAN
            15¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, COURTZIG
            17¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, CLATEAU
 
Trainer J. Pointon will be advised that acting under A.R. 8(t) the gelding’s nominations will be refused until it satisfies stewards in a series of barrier trials or jump outs, given that the horse had 6 prior embargoes placed on it.
 
 
CLEVER STRYK - Made contact with another runner at the start.
 
CLATEAU - Contacted by another runner at the start. Hung out in the middle stages.
 
MIM'S GALLERY - At the start taken inwards and bumped PENNYCALAINE (Apprentice L. Attard), which was further hampered and lost ground when OUR BOY HOUDINI (Apprentice B. Grylls) shifted in, taking MIM'S GALLERY (Jockey C. McIver) in onto PENNYCALAINE.
 
METEOR'S MAN - Returned to scale with blood in its mouth from a laceration to its tongue.
 
Race 6: AMG GTS BenchMark 55 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - YOU CAN'T FIND ME 2nd -  QUICK ASSAULT  3rd-  COLOUR ME GREY  4th  -   TREMONT

TREMONT - Was presented in the enclosure without blinkers. Public announcements were made advising patrons of the gear change. Stewards will further investigate this matter.
 
GREY PARIZ - Slow to begin, then near the 1200 metres bumped CHOCOLATE BOLT (Jockey S. McGovern) and near the 900 metres had to be eased from the heels of that runner.
 
QUICK ASSAULT - Near the 300 metres was momentarily held up for clear running.
 
AHMASTAR - Raced wide without cover.
 
WILDLING - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed that it was lame in the near hind leg. Trainer L. Murphy will be advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.
