Race 1: XXXX Gold Class 3 Plate – 1800 metres

I CAN I WILL I AM – Slow into stride. Improved to the inside of another runner leaving the 600m and made contact with that runner. Apprentice Z. White dropped her nearside rein approaching the winning post.

ROMANOV – When questioned regarding the late declaration of D. Hayse as rider, trainer T. Button explained that as he had declared a rider who was dually engaged, circumstances prevented him from declaring a rider earlier than he had. Whilst accepting the explanation, stewards nonetheless advised Mr Button that riders should be declared at the earliest convenience. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Bumped and taken wider leaving the 600m when another runner improved to the inside.

HOT LOVE HIGHWAY – As the horse had competed at Thangool on Saturday, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Fractious in the barriers immediately prior to the start and began awkwardly. L. Tilley reported that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout and raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 2: 2017 Rocky Floods Open Handicap – 1400 metres

CRAIGLEA WANDOO – A little slow to begin. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, apprentice Z. White stated that her mount overraced in the early stages and leaving the 800m was able to balance up and at the 500m, when placed under pressure, did not sprint or respond to her riding and was disappointing. Trainer K. Johnston explained that she had concerns with the timing between runs and the fitness of the horse going into today's engagement and was of the opinion that the horse would derive benefit from the run.

MISHANI GLADIATOR – Jumped in at the start, making contact with EVENTIDE.

EVENTIDE – Bumped at the start.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3 retrospectively

Race 3: 2017 Winter Racing Carnival Open Handicap – 950 metres

FRENCH HUSSLER – Laid in from the 300m.

DRAGON ROCKET – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and took no competitive part in the race. Given the horse's history, stewards advised trainer J. Manzelmann that the horse would be required to obtain two barrier certificates prior to it being permitted to race again.

TIBYAAN – Began awkwardly.

Race 4: Rocky At Yeppoon 28 April Class 2 Handicap – 950 metres

ISIS AMBER – Held up to the inside of MUNSTER near the 500m. Shifted in on to ANGELS CROWN near the 400m when ROWDY RONDA rolled in slightly.

ANGELS CROWN – Bumped near the 400m. Raced wide with cover.

ROWDY RONDA – Raced wide without cover.

Race 5: Happy Easter QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap – 950 metres

MOHICAN MAGIC – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer L. Wanless was advised that the horse would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.

LOOSE NUT – Commenced to lose ground shortly after the start and was uncompetitive. Trainer L. Wanless was advised that the horse must perform competitively in a barrier trial prior to its next race start.

FORGOTTEN FEELING – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

DANTIEN – Raced wide without cover.

MISS MIAO – Slow to begin.

KAI STAR – Dipped near the 400m when the filly mis-strode.

Race 6: Yeppoon Turf Club Races Sat 22 April Maiden Handicap – 1200 metres

The start of this race was delayed when REFINED EXCITEMENT proved difficult to load.

STORM UP – Hung out in the middle stages. Hampered near the 900m and lost some ground.

IZANNE – Jumped away awkwardly and then was inconvenienced by NINO GOLD, which was taken in by PAR ONERI.

REFINED EXCITEMENT – Got its head up and raced ungenerously near the 900m, hampering another runner.

NINO GOLD – Taken in by another runner shortly after the start.

UNO KATY – Near the 500m was held up momentarily behind STORM UP, which was tiring. Stewards questioned apprentice Z. White in relation to her riding in the early stages. She stated that her instructions were to obtain cover. She said that the horse had begun well and she was aware that it could race strongly and have a tendency to overrace so she was able to obtain cover, balance the horse up and, racing in this manner, the horse was able to finish the race off well and may benefit with a step up in distance.

Race 7: RJC Staff Appreciation BM 65 Handicap – 1200 metres

Trainer T. Cook and apprentice Z. White (PULSAR) viewed the photo finish for 4th and after doing so were satisfied as to the Judge's placings.

BELORUM – Bumped on a number of occasions shortly after the start. Raced wide with cover.

GREAT INAGUA – Dipped on jumping. Bumped shortly after the start.

EMPEROR MAXIMILIAN – Made contact with GREAT INAGUA shortly after the start. Overraced in the early stages.

STYLISH LUCK – Raced wide without cover. Overraced in the early stages when being restrained.

QUICK ASSAULT – Bumped with BELORUM on a number of occasions shortly after the start.

Race 8: Capricornia Yearling Sales 2018 BM 60 Handicap – 1400 metres

HAPPY SNITZEL – Made contact with PERSISTENT SHADOW on jumping. A. Butler reported that today's firm track may have had an effect on the horse's performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

PERSISTENT SHADOW – Bumped at the start.

DUDOOMP – Bumped at the start.

EXTRA COVER – Trainer R. Vale was fined $100 for the late declaration of apprentice Z. White as rider.

ABANDONED LOVE – Jumped out at the start and made contact with DUDOOMP.
