Race Reports

 

General: Following the subsequent performance of PANTERA NEGRA on the 27th September 2018, it was reported to Stewards’ on the 2nd October 2018, that the greyhound had sustained a tear to the off side back muscle and the off side pin muscle. Stewards’ subsequently ordered that trainer, Mr Corey Mutton is to provide a veterinary certificate clearing the greyhound prior to racing again.

 

Race 1 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 520M

 

SOUTHERN RIPPLE and UNO UNO were best to begin.  Shortly after the start, HOPE SAID bumped SOUTHERN RIPPLE, which in turn bumped MOLLY MADNESS.  In the front straight, HOPE SAID checked out across heels and bumped STEAK SANDWHICH.  On entering the 1st turn, GALWAY LUDWIG and HOPE SAID bumped.  TAHBILK and STEAK SANDWHICH collided.  Through the turn into the back straight, GALWAY LUDWIG was tightened for room, bumped the running rail and was checked.  OXLEY ONE was hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight, TAHBILK checked out across heels taking HOPE SAID wider on the track. 

 

The greyhound GALWAY LUDWIG underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – UBET TAPPY FFA – 710M

 

SHOES TO FILL and CHAMPAGNE SALLY were best to begin.  Shortly after the start, FLYAWAY BARB was tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the front straight, DOUBLE GEE shifted inwards, FLYAWAY BARB contacted that runner’s heels.  Out of the back straight into the turn, CHAMPAGNE SALLY was tightened for room and checked.  DOUBLE GEE improved onto heels and was hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight, DOUBLE GEE checked out across heels.  Shortly after, FLYAWAY BARB and DOUBLE GEE collided.  In the front straight, DOUBLE GEE and FLYAWAY BARB collided again. 

 

The greyhound DOUBLE GEE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 3 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 – 520M

 

CRUIZE’S MAGIC was slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn, all runners collided and were checked to varying degrees with the exception of DONNY’S BEACH and BLOZA. BRIGHT SATELLITE fell and took no further competitive part in the event.  Through the turn into the back straight, WAHWAH TIGGY and ARDEN STREET bumped. 

 

The greyhound AZARIAH underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BRIGHT SATELLITE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 4 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M

 

TORNADO ALLEY was slow to begin.  In the front straight, EMPIRE REIGN was tightened for room and hampered.  On entering the 1st turn, LOBCHA checked out across heels.  FARMOR ABOVE and I’M GLAD bumped.  KATIE WHO checked in across heels and collided with SNOWBALL CREED.  Through the turn into the back straight, TORNADO ALLEY collided with BILLY BOY.  Out of the back straight into the turn, I’M GLAD was tightened for room and checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, LOBCHA bumped BILLY BOY which in turn bumped SNOWBALL CREED.  In the front straight, LOBCHA collided with BILLY BOY.  Over the concluding stages, LOBCHA collided with KATIE WHO. 

 

The greyhound EMPIRE REIGN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near fore leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 5 – MARBURG HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 600M

 

VISIGOTH was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn into the straight, SNOWBALL OTTO collided with FARMOR IN TIME.  Shortly after, VISIGOTH and DREAM BLASTER bumped.  Out of the front straight into the turn, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for racing room and hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, FARMOR IN TIME checked out across heels.  Out of the back straight into the turn, DAHOMEY WINDSONG was tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for room and checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, KNOCKER KNOCK was tightened for room and checked.  VISIGOTH, which was trailing, was hampered.  VISIGOTH checked out across heels.  SNOWBALL OTTO was bumped, which in turn bumped DAHOMEY WINDSONG.  In the back straight, DREAM BLASTER and FARMOR IN TIME collided.  Over the concluding stages, DAHOMEY WINDSONG collided with SNOWBALL OTTO. 

 

The greyhound SNOWBALL OTTO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound DAHOMEY WINDSONG underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 6 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLD COAST CUP OPEN – 520M

 

PHANTOM RAZOR was best to begin.  ALPHA LUCKY slipped at the start.  Shortly after the start, SILVER STUNNER was tightened for room and checked.  Approaching the 1st turn, MAGIC HORNET clipped the heels of PRECIOUS SAL and became unbalanced.  Shortly after, ALPHA LUCKY shifted out abruptly, causing interference to MAGIC HORNET and BUBBLE GUPPY.  Through the turn into the back straight, MAGIC HORNET was tightened for room and checked.  On entering the back straight, SILVER STUNNER checked out across heels.  Out of the back straight into the turn, KULU JASPER, NEVER WALK ALONE and PRECIOUS SAL all collided and were checked.  SILVER STUNNER, which was trailing, was checked.  On entering the front straight, MAGIC HORNET bumped ALPHA LUCKY.  NEVER WALK ALONE collided with PRECIOUS SAL. 

 

Race 7 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLD COAST CUP OPEN – 520M

 

WHEATACRE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, LOCH FREDDIE and DOUBLE SPUR bumped.  Approaching the 1st turn, NIKKI NETTLE was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, NIKKI NETTLE and SLICK bumped.  Shortly after, ALL ABOUT TIGER was tightened for room and checked.  LOCH FREDDIE and DOUBLE SPUR were both tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, LOCH FREDDIE was tightened for room and checked. 

 

The greyhound ALL ABOUT TIGER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLD COAST CUP OPEN – 520M

 

DEL REY was best to begin. MOMENT TO SHINE began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, INFRARED STAR, YEAH OKAY and BIG BAD BOB were all tightened for room and checked.   Approaching the 1st turn, INFRARED STAR was tightened for room and checked.  YEAH OKAY collided with BIG BAD BOB.  MOMENT TO SHINE checked out across heels, PITTSBURGH PHIL was hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, BIG HERO SIX was tightened for room and hampered.  INFRARED STAR was checked as a result.  PITTSBURGH PHIL and BIG BAD BOB collided and were checked.  On entering the back straight, PITTSBURGH PHIL checked in across BIG BAD BOB’s heels.  Through the turn into the front straight, BIG BAD BOB checked out across heels.  Over the concluding stages of the event, YEAH OKAY turned its head inwards and made muzzle contact with CORYKODI. 

Trainer D Russell of the greyhound YEAH OKAY was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days at Albion Park and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 520m, prior to racing. 

 

Race 9 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 520M

 

AMBER MARIE was best to begin.  In the front straight, SMART MARLOW and ADHARA STEEL collided. EMPIRE STATE raced wide through the turn into the back straight.  In the back straight, ADHARA STEEL checked out across heels. 

 

Race 10 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M

 

MAYWYNS NOISE was best to begin.  On entering the 1st turn, both ALPHA CHAOS and MR. BELVEDERE were tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, GIVE IT SOME collided with RULE THE ROAD.  Out of the back straight into the turn, MAYWYNS NOISE contacted the heels of MOTTZA, both runners were checked. 

 

Race 11 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 5TH GRADE (3) – 520M

 

HAY BILLY began awkwardly.  TAIL WAG was slow to begin.  In the front straight, AND YOU ARE was tightened for room and checked.  TAIL WAG which was trailing, was checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, MAYWYN REWARDS and POWER SERVICE collided.  FIRST FIRE was tightened for room and hampered.  Out of the back straight into the turn, FIRST FIRE was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight, POWER SERVICE and TAIL WAG collided.  COOPES raced wide in the front and back straight.
