Race Reports

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 331M

 

MARCIE’S MEMORY was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, TADA was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  MY BRO DOUGIE, which was trailing, checked into TADA, with both greyhounds losing significant ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, CROCODILE SMILE was tightened for racing room, became severely unbalanced and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TADA was tightened for racing room, became unbalanced and lost ground.  At the same time, KALISKA’S CLONE was impeded and lost momentum.  MARCIE’S MEMORY raced wide through the turn out of the back straight, and continued to race wide through the turn into the front straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, RUN MONTY RUN shifted out and collided into MARCIE’S MEMORY, causing MARCIE’S MEMORY to lose considerable ground. 

 

The greyhound TADA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 331M

 

INQUISITIVE ME was best to begin, LOW IMPACT was slow.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, NACHO GRANDE and CROCODILE TEARS raced tight and checked.  CROCODILE TEARS raced wide through the turn out of the back straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, LOW IMPACT shifted outwards impeding CROCODILE TEARS, causing that greyhound to lose momentum. 

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NPW – 331M

 

ORACLE KATE was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, AIDAN’S MAGIC and RYAN’S ILLUSION checked, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, SANDSHOE shifted out and momentarily impeded FABIO MARSHA. 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE – 331M

 

TREVOR TRICEPS was marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, TIMELY RICKSHAW and MASTER ZIMBO raced tight and checked, causing MASTER ZIMBO to lose ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TREVOR TRICEPS improved onto the rear of MASTER ZIMBO, became severely unbalanced, with both greyhounds losing substantial ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, TREVOR TRICEPS checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, TREVOR TRICEPS turned its head towards MASTER ZIMBO and made muzzle contact.

 

Connection to the greyhound TREVOR TRICEPS was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69, Marring 2nd Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 3 months, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 331m, prior to racing.

 

Race 5 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS MA5 (1) – 331M

 

WESTMEAD DAFFIE was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TELAM BUGSY GIRL collided into WHAT A GUN, causing WHAT A GUN to lose substantial ground as a result.  GO THE SPOILS raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound GO THE SPOILS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

The greyhound HAVANA BLACK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SPRING RUNNER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Following a complaint regarding conduct in the catching pen at the completion of race 5, Stewards’ interviewed licensed trainer Mr Robert Wall and Mrs Lyn Kent.  After considering all evidence both trainers’ were reminded to conduct themselves in the proper manner.

 

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

Even start.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, ROSEALIE WHO improved onto the rear of MR. SEE US, causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, VAQUERO and VELOCITY ZARIN raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  MR. SEE US, which was trailing, was impeded and lost momentum.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, MR. SEE US shifted out and collided into VELOCITY ZARIN, with both greyhounds losing substantial ground as a result. 

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 4TH GRADE – 331M

 

Even start.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, JET BLACK STAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, JET BLACK STAR checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, BLUE TEXADA checked off heels and shifted extremely wide, losing ground as a result. 

 

The greyhound BLUE TEXADA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM BEST 8 – 331M

 

GITCHA ALLEY was best to begin.  INNER WISDOM was marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, ONYA BENZ was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SO CRAZY, which was trailing, was severely impeded and checked into ONYA BENZ, with both greyhounds losing significant ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, ALBURY WAY and ONYA BENZ checked.  Shortly after, SHADOW COURT stumbled as it went through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound SO CRAZY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE BEST 8 – 395M

 

ARABELLA EMJAY was best to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn, EVIE’S ANGEL was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, PREMIER TEJAY was impeded, checked and lost momentum.

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

RAPID EFFECT and ANOTHER RED were best to begin. SPRITELY BILL was slow.   BARBARA BENZ raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race.  ZAZU’S HEADACHE and SPRITELY BILL raced tight and checked leaving the turn into the front straight. 

 

Race 11 – SKY RACING 5TH GRADE – 331M

 

CYNDIE WHO was best to begin.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, MR.CRAIG US stumbled and commenced to yield ground shortly after.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, DESTINI COMET was impeded and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound MR. CRAIG US underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 12 – ZILLMERE SPORTS MA5 (2) – 331M

 

Shortly after the start, BLACKJACK BETTY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground. Shortly after, HA AH CLASSY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost significant ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, BET YOU WILL shifted in and impeded LORD LACHLAN, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.  EGYPTIAN MISS and BLACKJACK BETTY raced tight and checked leaving the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound LORD LACHLAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hind and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
