Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE – 520M

 

MOLLY MADNESS sustained an injury at the start and took no further competitive part in the event.  GALWAY CHEETA was slow to begin.  In the front straight, RISING BEYOND, DARBY’S GIRL and CAPTAIN BLUE all collided and were checked.  On entering the 1st turn, DARBY’S GIRL collided with CAPTAIN BLUE, then shifted out and collided with GALWAY CHEETA.  Through the turn into the back straight, RISING BEYOND collided with STEAK SANDWHICH.  Out of the back straight into the turn, BLACK LOCH improved onto heels and was hampered.  GALWAY CHEETA and DARBY’S GIRL raced wide in the back and front straights.  

 

The greyhound MOLLY MADNESS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the stomach muscles and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 2 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE (1) – 600M

 

IZY MAGIC, MONEY FOR JAM and INDIAN GIVER were all best to begin.  BRITTTANY TALKS was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, AGENT’S CHOICE was tightened for room and checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, KALANI KARL checked out across heels.  BRITTANY TALKS became unbalanced.

 

Race 3 – UBET TAPPY 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M

 

UNO UNO was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, MAHONEY was tightened for room and checked.  BELLE OF SWORDS contacted the heels of UNO UNO.  On entering the 1st turn, all runners collided and were checked to varying degrees with the exception of BELLE OF SWORDS.  SMALL JEWEL fell and took no further competitive part in the event.  On entering the back straight, ARCH RIVAL improved onto heels and was hampered. 

 

The greyhound SMALL JEWEL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 4 – HUGGY BEAR INVITATIONAL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

ALPHA VALENTINE and MAGIC HORNET bumped at the start. PENDITA was slow to begin.  In the front straight, MAGIC HORNET was tightened for room and checked.  On entering the 1st turn, ALPHA VALENTINE and MAGIC HORNET were tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after, AND YOU ARE and PHANTOM RAZOR collided.  MANDELA CLOUD and ALPHA VALENTINE bumped.  On entering the back straight, PHANTOM RAZOR checked in across heels and lost ground.  Out of the back straight into the turn, PENDITA was tightened for room and checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, MAGIC HORNET checked out across heels. 

 

Race 5 – MOLLY CAMPBELL SILVER DOLLARS OPEN HEAT 1 – 520M

 

INDIVIDUAL RICHY, RINGBARK BELLA and IRISH RIPPLE all collided at the start.  Shortly after the start, IRISH RIPPLE contacted the heels of RINGBARK BELLA and was checked.  Approaching the 1st turn, DAM SLIPPERY, POLLY’S GIFT and REGAL TOPAZ all collided and were checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, INDIVIDUAL RICHY improved onto heels, shifted out and collided with POLLY’S GIFT.  IRISH RIPPLE collided with INDIVIDUAL RICHY and was checked.  REGAL TOPAZ was hampered.  Out of the back straight into the turn, INDIVIDUAL RICHY and POLLY’S GIFT collided.

 

The greyhound REGAL TOPAZ underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 - MOLLY CAMPBELL SILVER DOLLARS OPEN HEAT 2 – 520M

 

COPY WORKSHOP and NEVER WALK ALONE bumped at the start.  Shortly after the start, ROAD SIDE ASSIST was tightened for room and checked.  COPY WORKSHOP, NEVER WALK ALONE and TOO GOOD JOOG were all tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, REGAL RECALL and NEVER WALK ALONE collided.  Out of the back straight into the turn, COPY WORKSHOP was tightened for room and checked out across heels.  NEVER WALK ALONE raced wide in the back and front straights. 

 

The greyhound COPY WORKSHOP underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 7 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE (2) – 600M

 

SMART MARLOW was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, SLICK and HOT EMBER bumped.  SILVER STUNNER and VISIGOTH collided.  Out of the turn into the front straight, SILVER STUNNER, FLYAWAY BARB, VISIGOTH and KNOCKER KNOCK all collided and were checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, ALPHA CHAOS was tightened for room and hampered.

 

The greyhound KNOCKER KNOCK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY BEST 8 – 520M

 

MAURICE MINOR was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, BIG BAD BOB was tightened for room and hampered.  SHOT CLOCK and RICHMOND ROAD collided. 

 

When questioned into the performance of JURY, trainer Tony Brett advised stewards’ that he was pleased with the greyhound’s early speed and performance since returning from a spell.  He added that the greyhound had been working well in recent trials over distances of 431m at Ipswich and that his plans for JURY are to target the Lismore Cup in the coming weeks.

 

The greyhound JURY underwent a post race veterinary examination revealing no abnormalities.

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 4TH GRADE – 520M

 

FAB FIT and EMPIRE STATE were best to begin.  On entering the 1st turn, EMPIRE STATE shifted out abruptly.  CHAMPAGNE SALLY checked in across heels.  SONIC THUNDER was forced out wider on the track.  Through the turn into the back straight, ARDEN STREET collided with RULE THE ROAD.  On entering the back straight, LOGAN CITY and CHAMPAGNE SALLY were tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, CHAMPAGNE SALLY was tightened for room and checked.  ADHARA STEEL was checked. 

 

The greyhound CHAMPAGNE SALLY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M

 

CAN’T POSSIBLY was slow to begin.  In the front straight, IZY GOLD and DAZE LIKE THESE were both tightened for room and checked.  On entering the 1st turn, IZY GOLD was tightened for room and checked.  COSMO CYNDIE was tightened for room and hampered.  Over the concluding stages of the event, IZY GOLD and DAZE LIKE THESE collided.  JETTA KNIGHT and COSMO CYNDIE collided. 

 

The greyhound CAN’T POSSIBLY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 11 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MA5 – 520M

 

ONE DOLLAR was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, all runners, with the exception of EMPIRE REIGN, ONE DOLLAR and AUSSIE DIAMOND, collided and were checked.  On entering the 1st turn, EMPIRE REIGN checked out across heels.  WAHWAH TIGGY collided with EMMA’S MAGIC, which was severely checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, AUSSIE DIAMOND was tightened for room and hampered.  WAHWAH TIGGY was tightened for room and checked.  ALLEN KELVIN, which was trailing, was checked. 

 

The greyhound EMMA’S MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
