Race Reports

 

GENERAL:  Trainer Pamela Fields reported to stewards that following RICHMOND ROAD’s performance at Albion Park on the 18 October 2018, the greyhound’s recovery was poor and a subsequent veterinary examination revealed an injury to the off side hock. Ms. Fields advised stewards that she would be sending the greyhound for further X-rays.

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN (1) – 520M

 

RASHEDA was best to begin.  CHELSEA began awkwardly and as a result, was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, HARA’S SHADOW checked off RASHEDA and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, CHELSEA and ARE JAY JEAN raced tight and bumped. 

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN (2) – 520M

 

BLUE FLYER was best to begin, LOGAN STORM and FANCY THAT GOLD were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, KENDALL shifted in which impeded MY WINDSONG, causing that greyhound to check off heels and shift out sharply.  LOGAN STORM, which was trailing, collided heavily into MY WINDSONG and fell taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Immediately after, FANCY THAT GOLD checked off heels and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, MY WINDSONG was impeded and shifted wide. 

 

The greyhound LOGAN STORM underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 520M

 

BEE SOLO was best to begin and shifted in sharply after the start, which inconvenienced GALWAY CHEETA and ROMAN SILVER, which was racing to its inside.  Approaching the 1st turn, SHAKEY TIMES improved onto the heels of ROMAN SILVER, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.  DARBY’S GIRL raced wide through the 1st turn.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, COLOR PURPLE shifted in, which impeded ROMAN SILVER, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  GALWAY CHEETA, ROMAN SILVER and DARBY’S GIRL raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  Prior to the finish line, GALWAY CHEETA and ROMAN SILVER were checked, at the same time, HOOT and RED HOT GOSSIP collided and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound DARBY’S GIRL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 600M

 

SLICK was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, RULE THE ROAD shifted in which impeded FLYAWAY BARB.

 

Race 5 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE – 395M

 

SMASHNIAK OPAL was best to begin, ALLEN KELVIN was slow.  In the 1st turn, LOUIE VEE checked off heels, shifted out and collided into ALLEN KELVIN, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  In the turn into the back straight, SMASHNIAK OPAL and MISS PAIGE MAC raced tight, causing MISS PAIGE MAC to be checked and lose ground as a result.  Midway down the back straight, SMASHNIAK OPAL commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  MISS PAIGE MAC, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground.  Shortly after, EARLY SETTLER, which was trailing, was also inconvenienced and lost ground.  SMASHNIAK OPAL shifted wide through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound SMASHNIAK OPAL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

GEORGIE MAC was best to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, NIGHT TIME LOVER, KIM OSTI and MAM’S MAGIC raced tight and checked, with all losing ground to varying degrees.  LOGICAL OPTION, which was racing to the outside of those greyhounds, was inconvenienced and lost ground. 

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 0-4 WINS – 600M

 

AGENT’S CHOICE was best to begin.  COOKIE YAP and ELUSIVE STAR raced wide into the 1st turn, with ELUSIVE STAR tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost significant ground as a result.  In the turn out of the front straight, ELUSIVE STAR checked off heels and lost ground.  In the turn out of the back straight, COOKIE YAP was impeded and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, COOKIE YAP checked off heels, then came into contact with the running rail, before shifting out sharply and colliding heavily into ELUSIVE STAR, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground. 

 

The greyhound COOKIE YAP underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

DAZE LIKE THESE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, ARE JAY LOCHIE was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost considerable ground as a result.  ARE JAY LOCHIE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MA5 – 395M

 

STAR TRACK ZARR and GRAND ANGEL were both marginally slow to begin.  In the 1st turn, CORY’S DIAMOND was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  HOLLY KNOCKS, which was trailing, checked into CORY’S DIAMOND and lost ground aswell.  OPPORTUNE KNOCKA and GRAND ANGEL, which were trailing those greyhounds, were also inconvenienced and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, GRAND ANGEL was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound STAR TRACK ZARR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

DAY TIME FRIEND was best to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn, WAY TO WITCHES checked off heels and lost considerable ground.
