Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN – 395M

 

RUNNING SCARED was best to begin, SMELL THE CHEESE was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, STEWY’S MAGIC was momentarily impeded and lost momentum. TOMMY’S BEACH and STEWY’S MAGIC raced tight and bumped on occasion, through the turn out of the back straight, and through the turn into the front straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SMELL THE CHEESE checked off heels and lost momentum.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN FINAL – 395

TOOK A TICKET was best to begin, TEJAY’S PRIDE was slow. Approaching the 1st turn, BONNIE EILEEN, CROCODILE TEARS and SENOR DYLAN raced tight and checked.  Shortly after, BONNIE EILEEN and SENOR DYLAN collided, causing SENOR DYLAN to become severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground, and BONNIE EILEEN to lose significant ground also. 

 

The greyhound SENOR DYLAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

The greyhound BRASS ROAD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FARMOR IMAGE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS NOVICE – 395M

 

FARMOR KA CHING was slow to begin.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, COMBAL ZERO and WAZZA SAID raced tight and checked, resulting in WAZZA SAID becoming unbalanced.  Shortly after, BRASS ROAD shifted in coming into contact with the running rail and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, WAZZA SAID shifted out which impeded SWEET TALKING, causing both greyhounds to bump and lose momentum.

 

Race 4 – THIRY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE – 395M

 

HAY NANNY was best to begin, WHO’S HOPE was slow.  At the 1st turn, LILY’S BEAN shifted out, causing ORION GIRL and BANK ENFORCER to be tightened for racing room and lose momentum. BANK ENFORCER, which was trailing, improved onto ORION GIRL and FARMOR IMAGE, resulting in FARMOR IMAGE falling, taking no further competitive part in the race and BANK ENFORCER losing substantial ground as a consequence.  WHO’S HOPE, which was trailing, was also severely inconvenienced and lost ground. 

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 4TH GRADE – 395M

 

TEJAY’S MAGIC was clearly best to begin, MAYWYN EMERALDS was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, ANOTHER RED shifted in and checked into SMASHNIAK WINX, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, BIG TRIGGER shifted out, checked off heels and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound SMASHNIAK WINX underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards spoke to licenced trainer J. Reimer in relation to significant betting activity for his greyhound FREE SPIRIT which won the event. Mr Reimer stated that his greyhound performs well at the track and hasn’t been racing here much of late. Mr Reimer further stated that the greyhound performed well at his last start and that he also supported the greyhound tonight as a result of that performance.

 

Race 6 – FABERGAS @ STUD 5TH GRADE FINAL – 395M

 

SMASHNIAK DOUBLE was best to begin, TOOK A FERGUS was marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, PROPER GENT checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TOOK A RHYNO and TOOK A FERGUS raced tight, resulting in TOOK A FERGUS being tightened for racing room and losing ground.

 

Race 7 – BOX1PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

POTENTIAL was best to begin.  ZILLIE BEAN began awkwardly, and as a result was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, DARK TABOO and BRONZE GAMBLER collided, resulting in both greyhounds losing significant ground.  ZILLIE BEAN, which was trailing, was impeded.

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM BEST 8 – 395M

 

ARABIAN GO GO was best to begin, TUBBY TURNER slipped at the start and was marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, TUBBY TURNER checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, JOHN SAID THIS checked off heels and lost ground.  PREMIER TEJAY, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost significant ground as a result.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, ARABIAN GO GO and COSMO BILL raced tight and checked, causing COSMO BILL to lose momentum.  TUBBY TURNER raced wide through the turn out of the back straight. 

 

Race 9 – ZILLMERE SPORTS 5PW – 395M

 

MISS THICKSHAKE was best to begin, CYNDIE WHO was slow.  BOGAN LEGEND and CYNDIE WHO raced tight into the 1st turn.  Shortly after, leaving the turn into the back straight, LION’S BLUE checked off heels and lost momentum.  LION’S BLUE and MISS GAMBLER checked approaching the turn out of the back straight.  In the turn into the front straight, LION’S BLUE checked out off heels and lost momentum. 

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

NAN’S MAGIC was best to begin.  Shortly after the 1st turn, EBONY SANDS was impeded and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, NEXT was impeded and shifted out.  Shortly after, EBONY SANDS shifted out off the back of WHAT LEO WANTS, causing NEXT to check off heels and fall, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  WHAT LEO WANTS and LUCKY GAMBLER raced tight and bumped on occasion, just prior to the finish. 

 

The greyhound NEXT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
