Race Reports

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN – 520M

 

COYBIG was best to begin, SONIC BOOM was slow.  Midway down the front straight, on the 1st occasion, SONIC BOOM improved onto the rear of BLUE FLYER and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn, VAL’S BOY and KENDALL raced tight and checked on multiple occasions. At the 1st turn, VAL’S BOY and KENDALL raced tight and checked Shortly after BLUE FLYER, VAL’S BOY and KENDALL all came together and checked.  SONIC BOOM, which was trailing, was impeded and shifted wide.  FROSTY BLACK JAY, which was trailing, also raced wide through the 1st turn.  Leaving the 1st turn, VAL’S BOY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SONIC BOOM was impeded, shifted out and lost momentum.   

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL NOVICE – 520M

 

FELICI BEACH was best to begin, COLOR PURPLE was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn, FELICI BEACH, CHELSEA and COMMON GROUND raced tight and checked, resulting in CHELSEA and COMMON GROUND to be severely checked and shift out.  BRINDLE DAISY and COLOR PURPLE, which were trailing, collided into the rear of those greyhounds, became severely unbalanced and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  Shortly after, LAST DRINK collided heavily into the rear of FELICI BEACH, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, LAST DRINK and ROAD SIDE ASSIST checked, causing LAST DRINK to lose ground.  In the back straight, COMMON GROUND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost significant ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, COMMON GROUND checked off heels and lost substantial ground. 

 

The greyhound COMMON GROUND underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BRINDLE DAISY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 – 395M

 

BUTTON PUSHER was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, SMASHNIAK WINX and SPRING RUNNER raced tight and checked. At th1st turn, SPRING RUNNER improved onto the heels of SMASHNIAK WINX, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. 

 

The greyhound SMASHNIAK WINX underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

SMASHNIAK DOUBLE was best to begin.  At the 1st turn, the entire field with the exception of SMASHNIAK DOUBLE an INDIAN RUBY, came together and checked and lost ground to differing degrees.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, HAY NANNY was impeded and checked off heels, losing considerable ground as a result. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, RINDA DES and EL NUNU collided and lost ground. 

 

Race 5 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 331M

 

EBONY SANDS was marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn, FREE SPIRIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FANG TASIA raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  Shortly after, MONTAIGNE and EBONY SANDS raced tight and checked, causing EBONY SANDS to become severely unbalanced and lose ground.

 

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS BEST 8 – 395M

 

GO LASSIE GO was best to begin, REGAL WAZ was marginally slow.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, DOUBLE OAK and ZENYATTA MISS bumped.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

 

TRIPLE CROWN FOX was best to begin, SORRENTO and AVA SURPRISE was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, UNO UNO and ILLAWONG COWGIRL raced tight and checked on numerous occasions. Approaching the turn into the back straight, TRIPLE CROWN FOX and KATIE WHO collided, causing TRIPLE CROWN FOX to lose significant ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, ILLAWONG COWGIRL and SORRENTO raced tight and checked.

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

 

GYPSY WILD was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, EARS UP and ROSEALIE WHO collided and lost ground.  EARS UP raced wide through the turn out of the front straight.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, BOW WOW WOW and GYPSY WILD collided, causing GYPSY WILD to lose substantial ground as a result. 

 

The greyhound GYPSY WILD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Even start, with the exception of LILY’S BEAN, which turned in the boxes and as a result took no further competitive part in the race.  At the 1st turn, KULU COOPER, KNOCK ME OVER and FARMOR AT LAST raced tight and bumped, causing those greyhounds to lose momentum.

 

The greyhound LILY’S BEAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Connection to the greyhound, LILY’S BEAN, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance – turned in boxes, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, prior to racing next.

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 331M

 

AERIAL DYNAMITE was clearly best to begin, VAQUERO was marginally slow.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, WHAT LEO WANTS and SPUDTASTIC raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.
