Race Reports

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN – 331M

 

NACHO GRANDE was best to begin.  Immediately after the start, YAPPER BLISS turned its head and deviated its attention towards the greyhounds racing to its inside.   Approaching the turn out of the back straight, PASSING NOVA checked off heels, lost ground, then shifted out and checked heavily with YAPPER BLISS, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground.  FLY MARIPOSA and HARA’S HUSTLE raced tight and checked just prior to the finish.

 

The greyhound YAPPER BLISS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound YAPPER BLISS, was advised the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69A Failing to purse 1st offence, with the greyhound being  stood down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 331m, prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN FINAL – 331M

 

FAIRY WREN was best to begin, STEAMY NIGHT was slow.  Shortly after the start, both ROSEAVILLA and CROCODILE SMILE were tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, SILENT CANNONS checked off heels, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground as a result.  Shortly after, FAIRY WREN and CROCODILE SMILE raced tight and checked.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, SILENT CANNONS improved onto the rear of ROSEAVILLA, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  LOW IMPACT raced wide through the turn out of the back straight. 

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE (1) – 331M

 

DO YOU REMEMBER was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, NANNY’S CHARLIE was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, LADY OPAL shifted in and collided into GIFT, causing both those greyhounds to lose momentum. 

 

The greyhound LADY OPAL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE (2) – 331M

 

WILD CONNECTION was best to begin, SHANAE WHO was slow.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, SHANAE WHO and PAWTICIPATION checked, causing PAWTICIPTATION to lose considerable ground. 

 

Race 5 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE (1) – 331M

 

SWEET TALKING was best to begin, LILLY PILLY LASS was slow.  In the 1st turn, WHO’S HOPE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, RUN MONTY RUN shifted in, which severely impeded LILLY PILLY LASS, causing that greyhound to lose considerable ground. Leaving the turn out of the back straight, RAPID EFFECT checked off heels, shifted out sharply, then collided heavily with WHO’S HOPE, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, RAPID EFFECT and LILLY PILLY LASS collided, causing RAPID EFFECT to become severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground as a consequence.

 

The greyhound RAPID EFFECT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

JUNK YARD KYLIE was best to begin, GALLEON was slow.  In the 1st turn, GALLEON was impeded and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, GALLEON was impeded and lost momentum.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, GALLEON was impeded and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound GALLEON underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side fibula and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 331M

 

Stewards’ delayed the “All Clear” to Race 7 by approximately 5 minutes, so they could review the footage of the race.

 

VELOCITY ZARIN was best to begin, GITCHA HUMMIN’ was slow.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, MISS AMELIA shifted out sharply, then collided into ABELE, causing both those greyhounds to race wide and lose considerable ground as a result. Entering the front straight, ABELE and ONYA BENZ checked, causing ONYA BENZ to become unbalanced and lose momentum. 

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 1/2ND GRADE – 331M

 

GITCHA ALLEY was best to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn, ALBURY WAY was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a result.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, WHITE OX shifted out and checked into GEMMA BENZ, causing GEMMA BENZ to become unbalanced and lose momentum.  Shortly after, LID PINGER  and GEMMA BENZ checked.

 

Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE (2) – 331M

 

ZULU BEAT and TUNDRA STORM were both best to begin, BILLY WHO was slow.   Leaving the 1st turn, TUNDRA STORM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DESTINI COMET and MASTER DEAN, which were trailing, were inconvenienced and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TUNDRA STORM checked off heels and lost significant ground. REGAL EMERALD, which was trailing was severely inconvenienced and lost significant ground. Leaving the turn into the front straight, MASTER DEAN continued to race wide and remained wide for the remainder of the race. Leaving the turn out of the back straight, MASTER DEAN shifted wide and lost momentum as it did.

 

The greyhound MASTER DEAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 10 – ZILLMERE SPORTS 5TH GRADE (3) – 331M

 

WAIKARIE SYLVIE began awkwardly and became unbalanced.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, WAIKARIE SYLVIE and POPPYCOCK checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the turn out of the back straight, SPICE BUCKET was impeded and lost momentum.  DOLLAR AND CENT raced wide through the turn into the front straight. Entering the front straight, WESTMEAD DAFFIE and RAIN ALERT checked, causing WESTMEAD DAFFIE to lose ground.
