Race Reports

 

Race 1 – SKY RACING | NOVICE | 520M

 

CLASSY ARIA was best to begin. Shortly after the start, NOVEMBER FLAME was tightened for room and checked. In the front straight, RISING BEYOND, REPEAT SET and LENRAY BONUS all collided and were checked. DUSTY DELIGHT bumped LENRAY BONUS. On entering the first turn, DUSTY DELIGHT shifted in, WAZZA SAID and ELLIE GRACE checked out across heels and collided with RISING BEYOND, which shifted out and collided with REPEAT SET. Through the turn into the back straight, NOVEMBER FLAME was tightened for room and checked out across heels. RISING BEYOND, which was trailing, was hampered as a result. On entering the back straight, RISING BEYOND checked out across heels. Over the concluding stages of the event, ELLIE GRACE improved onto the heels of CLASSY ARIA and was checked.

 

CLASSY ARIA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin muscle. The greyhound was subsequently stood down for a period of 7 days. When questioned into the performance of CLASSY ARIA, trainer David Fitzgerald stated that he was pleased with the performance despite the injury. Mr Fitzgerald added that he supported the greyhound in tonight’s event and would look to continue to improve the greyhound’s performances over the 520m.

 

Race 2 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND | GRADE 5 | 710M

 

AGENT’S CHOICE and FLYAWAY BARB were best to begin. On entering the first turn, TIMES A BONUS was tightened for room and checked. GALWAY PANTHER raced wide in the front straight. Out of the front straight into the turn, TIMES A BONUS was tightened for room and hampered.

 

Race 3 – QG AUTO ELECTRICAL CUP | MA5 | 520M

 

ZILLIE BEAN was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, ARABIAN GO GO and CYN’S MAGIC collided and were checked. On entering the first turn, EBONNIE and SOFT SAND bumped. CYN’S MAGIC raced wide through the turn into the back straight. On entering the back straight, EBONNIE and SOFT SAND were tightened for room and checked. In the back straight, SON OF BETTY and ZILLIE BEAN were tightened for room and hampered. Over the concluding stages of the event, CYN’S MAGIC failed to pursue the lure with due commitment and gave ground.

 

Connections of CYN’S MAGIC were advised that the greyhound would be suspended from racing for 28 days at Albion Park and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

 

CYN’S MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed no abnormalities.

 

Race 4 – GATEWAY ELECTRICAL | GRADE 5 | 520M

 

VELOCITY AGNETHA, CLICK COWAN and RATAJKOWSKI were all tightened for room at the start. On entering the first turn, KATIE WHO and INDIVIDUAL RICHY collided. REGAL SAPPHIRE checked out across heels and collided with VELOCITY AGNETHA. Through the turn into the back straight, TEN GALLON HAT contacted the heels of REGAL SAPPHIRE, both runners were checked. RATAJKOWSKI, which was trailing, was hampered.

 

REGAL SAPPHIRE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed no abnormalities.

 

Race 5 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD | GRADE 5 | 520M

 

SUPER CESC and SHE’S SOME GIRL were best to begin. WAZZA WHO was slow to begin. On entering the first turn, WAZZA WHO was tightened for room, checked out across heels and collided with FARMOR IN TUNE, which was checked. Out of the back straight into the turn, MAN OF LEISURE checked out across heels. Shortly after, FARMOR IN TUNE collided with WAZZA WHO, both runners were checked.

 

WAZZA WHO underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed no abnormalities.

 

Race 6 – CHRISTMAS STOCKING FINAL | GRADE 5 | 520M

 

HAY BILLY began awkwardly. GALWAY JOHANN and FERNANDO BLASTER collided at the start. Shortly after the start, FERNANDO BLASTER and GALWAY JOHANN were tightened for room and checked. GALWAY JOHANN contacted the heels of NILLY NELLY, which was hampered. On entering the first turn, BAD NEIGHBOUR and DAM SLIPPERY were tightened for room and bumped. HAY BILLY checked out across heels. FERNANDO BLASTER and NILLY NELLY, which were trailing, were both hampered. Through the turn into the back straight, GALWAY JOHANN was tightened for room and checked. BAD NEIGHBOUR and DAM SLIPPERY collided. Out of the back straight into the turn, YOREMMUP contacted the heels of DAM SLIPPERY. Shortly after, FERNANDO BLASTER and DAM SLIPPERY collided. YOREMMUP and GALWAY JOHANN, which were trailing, were checked as a result. Through the turn into the front straight, NILLY NELLY checked out across heels. On entering the front straight, FERNANDO BLASTER and YOREMMUP bumped. 

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY | GRADE 4 | 520M

 

COMANECI was best to begin. ALPHA LUCKY began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, DEL REY, AND YOU ARE and SMART MARLOW were tightened for room and checked. Approaching the first turn, MYONA MORPHEUS was tightened for room and checked. On entering the first turn, ALPHA LUCKY and SMART MARLOW were both tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the back straight, AMBER MARIE improved onto heels and was hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn, COMANECI was tightened for room and hampered. MYONA MORPHEUS, SMART MARLOW and ADHARA STEEL all collided. Through the turn into the front straight, HARA’S HOOK improved onto heels and was hampered.

 

MYONA MORPHEUS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist. MYONA MORPHEUS was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 10 days. 

 

Race 8 – MIDDLE DISTANCE CHALLENGE 600 FINAL | OPEN | 600M

 

DEL REY was best to begin. SILVER STUNNER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, MAGIC HORNET and MAURICE MINOR bumped. Out of the front straight into the turn, MAGIC HORNET and SILVER STUNNER were tightened for room and checked. FINAL CHALICE, which was trailing, collided with SILVER STUNNER, checked out and collided with LOCH FREDDIE. SILVER STUNNER contacted the heels of INFRARED STAR, which was checked.

 

MAURICE MINOR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist. MAURICE MINOR was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | BEST 8 | 520M

 

REGAL TOPAZ was best to begin. On entering the first turn, IT’S DYLLAN and REGAL TOPAZ bumped. Through the turn into the back straight, IT’S DYLLAN checked out across heels.

 

Race 10 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE | GRADE 5 | 520M

 

KEALOAH was best to begin. Approaching the first turn, TURN AND BURN and EMPIRE REIGN bumped. Shortly after, EMPIRE REIGN, HAY HOPEY and FIVE GALLON HAT all collided and were checked. Through the turn into the back straight, WILDASH JAZZY contacted the heels of KEALOAH. Out of the turn into the back straight, TURN AND BURN was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn, WILDASH JAZZY checked in across heels. EMPIRE REIGN was tightened for room and hampered. In the front straight, WILDASH JAZZY checked out across heels.

 

FIVE GALLON HAT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and revealed no abnormalities.
