Race Reports

 

Race 1 – SKY RACING | MAIDEN | 520m

WINTANA was best to begin. DRAKEY BABY was slow. Approaching the first turn SOCIALISER shifted out and checked into BLUE FLYER causing both greyhounds to race wide through the turn and lose ground.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL | NOVICE | 520M

PROPOSAL was best to begin OUR SASSY GYPSY was slow. Approaching the first turn CICADA was impeded, shifting out and checked into UNIQUE SPIRIT, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. CICADA and UNIQUE SPIRIT continued to race tight and bump on numerous occasions through the first turn. Leaving the turn into the back straight LAST DRINK and UNIQUE LEIGH checked.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND | MA5 | 395M

WESTERN HONEY was best to begin. MIDNIGHT DASHER and CORY’S DIAMOND were both marginally slow. Leaving the turn into the back straight MISS THICKSHAKE was impeded and lost momentum.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD | GRADE 5 | 331M

KOORINGA ERIN was best to begin .Leaving the turn out of the back straight PATRICK GEORGE and MASTER DEAN raced tight and checked.

 

Race 5 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB | MIXED 4/5 | 331M

WHITE OX was best to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight BULLET PASS improved onto the rear of XEROX LETTER become unbalanced and lost ground. Immediately after BROKE EVEN collided into the rear of BULLET PASS with both greyhounds losing substantial ground as a consequence. Leaving the turn into the front straight XEROX LETTER and RACHEL TERROR raced tight and checked.

 

The greyhound BROKE EVEN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS | GRADE 5 | 520M

UNO UNO was best to begin. FIVE GALLON HAT was slow. Midway down the front straight on the first occasion SLEEK STYLE shifted out with impeded MY WINDSONG causing that greyhound to lose momentum. At the first turn FELICI BEACH checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the turn in the back straight FELICI BEACH was impeded and lost momentum. Approaching the turn out of the back straight SLEEK STYLE was impeded and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the front straight TEN GALLON HAT and FELICI BEACH checked and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY | MIXED 4/5 | 520M

BLACKHEART BELLA and CRAZY EMJAY were best to begin. OFF THE DECK was marginally slow. Approaching the first turn EMPIRE REIGN was impeded, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the first turn SMALL JEWEL shifted in which severely impeded EMPIRE REIGN which checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight FARMOR IN TUNE and OFF THE DECK checked causing both to lose ground.

 

Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | MIXED 1/2 | 395M

BLACK PAWS was best to begin. ALL ABOUT TIGER was slow. The entire field with the exception of BLACK PAWS raced tight and checked at the first turn with ZENYATTA MISS, NO CLYDE NEEDED and IMA NECROMANCER all becoming unbalanced and losing ground as a consequence. ALL ABOUT TIGER which was trailing, collided heavily into the rear of NO CLYDE NEEDED, became severely unbalanced and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. NO CLYDE NEEDED lost considerable ground as a result of that incident. Approaching the turn out of the back straight ZENYATTA MISS checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  

 

The greyhound ALL ABOUT TIGER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE | MIXED 3/4 | 395M

DOUBLE OAK and SONIC THUNDER were both marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start MAKO MAK was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground. In the first turn SONIC THUNDER and MAKO MAC checked causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight SONIC THUNDER and MAKO MAC collided, losing substantial ground as a consequence. DOUBLE OAK and MISS AMELIA raced tight and checked on numerous occasions through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound MAKO MAC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL | GRADE 5 | 395M

OBLIVINATOR and EL NUNU were both best to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight ABSOLUTELY FAB improved onto the heels of OBLIVINATOR on two separate occasions causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose significant ground. STROGANOFF raced wide through the turn out of the back straight and also through the turn into the front straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight GYPSY WILD and CALL ME AUSSIE checked causing GYPSY WILD to become unbalanced and lose ground.
