Race Reports

 

Race 1 – SKY RACING NOVICE 395M

 

Rounding the turn out of the back BECKONING CANDLE shifted in making contact REDEAL and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight VINI VILLA turned its head and marred the running of UNIQUE SPIRIT for a considerable distance resulting in both those greyhounds to lose ground. REDEAL which was racing on the outside of UNIQUE SPIRIT was severely checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.

 

BECKONING CANDLE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

VINI VILLA underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed to have injured it’s off side hock and was stood down from arcing for 10 days. VINI VILLA was charged under Rule 69 Marring and was stood down from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and must complete 1 satisfactory trial prior to return to racing.

 

Race 2 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN 520 M

 

Shortly after start BIT OF RIPPLE was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the front straight COYBIG was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight COYBIG was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

Race 3 – MARBURG HOTEL NOVICE 520 M

 

STRAIT RUM and MY BOUQUET was slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight ALPHA HEMERA was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight ALPHA HEMERA checked across the heels of UNIQUE LEIGH and lost ground. Entering the back straight MY BOUQUET was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

ALPHA HEMERA underwent a post-race veterinary examination to have injured its off hind pad and was stood down from racing for 10 days

 

Race 4 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS R/W 600 M

 

TIMES A BONUS, INFRARED LASS and ROCKY SPIES were all slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the front straight in the first occasion BLUE FLYER and ONE FOR MICK collide resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. INFRARED LASS commenced to give ground rounding the turn into the back straight. In the front straight to the lower stages of the race BLUE FLYER, ONE FOR MICK and ROCKY SPIES all collide.

 

INFARED LASS underwent a post-race veterinary examination to have injured its near side hip and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

Race 5 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5th GRADE 331 M

 

In the back straight MAGIC CODE shifted out which hampered the running of TOO GOOD JOOG, rounding the turn into the back straight DESTINI COMET shifted out which checked in the running of MAGIC CODE. Approaching the turn into the front straight MAGIC CODE, MASTER ZIMBO and TOO GOOD JOOG raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Entering the front straight PENUMBRA and GITCHA ALLEY collide.

 

 

Race 6 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN 5 395M

 

Entering the back straight CORY’S DIAMOND and GRAND ANGEL collide.

Grand Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities, when questioned over the performance, trainer Mr J Bloomfield stated that he was not happy with the overall performance of the greyhound although he did receive some interference in the back straight, he stated that it was having its first start since the 22nd October, 2018 and had trialled well leading up to the race and expected a forward showing. He further stated that he would inform stewards of anything if it comes a miss with GRAND ANGEL in the upcoming days.

 

GRAND ANGEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – FABREGAS @ STUD 5th Grade H 520M

 

BLUE JILLEM was slow to begin. In the front straight on the first occasion ELUSIVE STAR and SORRENTO collide. Approaching the turn into the back straight GALWAY LUDWIG and ILLAWONG COWGIRL bump. ILLAWONG COWGIRL commenced to gain ground into the back straight. Approaching the turn into the front straight GALWAY LUDWIG improved onto the heels of BLUE JILLEM and was momentary hampered.

 

ILLAWONG COWGIRL underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed it to have injured it’s near hind foot and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

Race 8 – BOX1PHOTOGRAPHY.COM 4 / 5 395 M

 

Shortly after start EL DOUBLE ONE and BULLET PASS collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight BULLET PASS was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the back straight ABSOLUTELY FAB and RAMBLIN’ ROSE collide resulting in RAMBLIN’ ROSE to be severally  checked and lose ground. FARCELONA FENIX which was trialling was checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight EL DOUBLE ONE and BULLET PASS collide.

 

RAMBLIN’ ROSE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 3/4 GRADE 331 M

 

Leaving the back straight DOUBLE OAK was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

POLLY’S MAID underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5th Grade H 5th GRADE 520 M

 

Rounding the turn out of the front straight WHO NOSE SIZE and OHIO FERNANDO collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
