Race Day Stewards’ Report

General:

At the conclusion race 4, it was reported that licenced trainer William Elson, had refused to remove the greyhound, It Ain’t Cyndie, from the starting boxes after being directed to do so.

Mr Elson was subsequently charged under GAR86(p) which reads:

A person (including an official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person – (p) disobeys or fails to comply with the lawful order of a Steward or other person or body having official duties in relation to greyhound racing.

The specifics of the charge being that, on Sunday 21st July 2019, Mr Elson disobeyed a direction from a Steward to remove his greyhound from the starting boxes, when instructed.

Stewards formally found Mr Elson guilty of the charge and issued a monetary penalty of $200. Mr Elson was advised of his right to an internal review.   

 

 

Race 1 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 331m

1 Payment Time – Raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

4 Tuta Sherry – Marginally slow to begin.

7 Yapper Bliss – Checked entering the back straight.

 

Race 2 – FAST TIMES @ SIRES ON ICE MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 331m

The all clear was delayed to afford Stewards the opportunity to review the patrol footage in relation to birds being on the track near the finish line. After viewing the patrol footage, Stewards were satisfied that no runner had been affected and subsequently declared the all clear. 

1 Ricolina Girl – Collided with another runner and was severely checked approaching the turn out of the back straight.

2 Moby Go – Checked entering the back straight.

3 Radar Rose – Best to begin. Severely checked approaching the turn out of the back straight.

4 Mad Invite – Checked shortly after the start.

5 Waikarie Elle - Severely checked approaching the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 3 – SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 3 MAIDEN 331m

1 Cajoled – Extremely slow to begin and subsequently was charged under GAR R71 and will need to perform a satisfactory stewards trial before it races next. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.

2 Foxton Haymaker – Checked at the turn out of the back straight.

5 Uno John – Severely checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

6 Teal Scarf – Checked entering the turn out of the back straight and commenced to yield ground immediately afterwards and failed to finish the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the off shoulder and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

7 Son Of Villa – Severely checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 4 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE (1) 331m

Prior to the running of Race 4, the greyhound Soda Ezy escaped the control of trainer Trevor List. Once captured, Stewards ordered all greyhounds that had been placed in the starting boxes undergo a veterinary examination. Stewards were advised that all runners had been passed fit to start.

1 Tada – Significantly checked, then impeded approaching the turn into the front straight.  

3 Soda Ezy – Significantly checked entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.

4 Sushi – Marginally slow to begin. Significantly checked entering the back straight. Hampered leaving the turn into the front straight.

6 Ringbark Amy – Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Checked leaving the turn out of the back straight. 

8 Pads And Paws. Marginally slow to begin.

 

Race 5 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE (2) 331m

1 Fawn Yogi Blue – Significantly checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

2 November Flame -   Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the near hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

4 Blocka's Buddy – Inconvenienced entering the front straight.

8 Trav's Out – Slow to begin. Contacted the heels of another runner entering the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 6 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MA5 331m

1 Perfect Touch – Severely checked entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.

5 Snow Girl – Hampered approaching the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 7 – EXPAT LODGE MIXED 4/5 395m

1 Mista Kick – Checked approaching the turn into the back straight.

3 Miss Grasscutter – Checked approaching the turn into the back straight.

4 Ebony Sands  - Checked approaching the turn into the back straight. Checked leaving the turn into the back straight. 

8 Wheatacre – Best to begin then shifted in sharply immediately after the start and collided with another runner. Checked off heels approaching the turn out of the back straight. Hampered leaving the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 8 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 3/4 331m

1 Go Alice Go – Best to begin

2 Tight Circle – Hampered approaching the turn out of the back straight.

3 Just Don't Know – Checked at the turn out of the back straight. 

5 Ima Necromancer – Hampered entering the back straight.

 

Race 9 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 331m

2 Rare Pick – Best to begin. Impeded approaching the turn out of the back straight.

10(7) Chasing Diamonds – Checked leaving the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 10 – TWITTER @BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 331m

4 Merlin's Maid – Tightened for racing room then checked entering the back straight. 

6 Call Me Wisdom - Tightened for racing room then checked entering the back straight. Checked leaving the turn out of the back straight.  

7 Burrum Boy - Tightened for racing room then checked entering the back straight. Checked leaving the turn out of the back straight. Checked off heels approaching the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 11 – TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 331m

1 Ryall – Hampered approaching the turn into the front straight.

2 Hara's Dash – Best to begin.

3 Beau's Image – Collided heavily with another runner leaving the turn out of the back straight.

4 Candy Sparkles – Checked with another runner through the turn into the front straight.

5 Kaliska's Clone – Had its heels contacted by another runner leaving the turn out of the back straight. Checked with another runner through the turn into the front straight.

6 Cyndie Said – Slow to begin. Raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

7 Sulza Boy – Improved onto the heels of another runner and was checked leaving the turn out of the back straight.
