Race Reports
Race 1: BARGARA BAKERY CAFÉ, MAIDEN - 460m
BELLI ULTRA was declared a late scratching at 12:45pm when it was found to weigh in excess of the prescribed amount under the provisions of GAR.39 (+1.5kg). Trainer E. Conroy was fined the sum of $50.
OUR CAMBLA BOY was slow to begin. Through the turn into the front straight, TRUST IN JOHN improved onto the heels of CAMBLA YAP YAP resulting in that runner to be checked and lose ground. In the front straight, TRUST IN JOHN turned its head and shifted outwards towards OUR CAMBLA BOY, which was racing to its outside, and made contact with that runner.
TRUST IN JOHN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and significant abnormalities were found. The greyhound was stood down pursuant to GAR.69A for Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhounds 1st offence a 28 stand down period was imposed at Bundaberg and a satisfactory trial must be completed prior its next start.
CAMBLA YAP YAP underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a sub-lumbar muscle strain. A 10 days stand down period was imposed.
Race 2: ACE FABRICATIONS, NOVICE - 460m
RICHO’S MISS and DRIVES ME CRAZY were slow to begin. Entering the first turn, CRAZY CAMBLA checked off heels and collided with LIGHTNING FLASH resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn, DECADENT ENOUGH was tightened for room and checked. RICHMER ASSAULT and CAMBLA BANJO which were trailing were checked as a consequence. In the front straight, DECADENT ENOUGH turned its head and shifted outwards towards CRAZY CAMBLA, which was racing to its outside.
DECADENT ENOUGH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no significant abnormalities were found. The greyhound was stood down pursuant to GAR.69A for Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhounds 2nd offence a 3 month stand down period was imposed for all tracks. Further, the greyhound must trial satisfactorily before being permitted to start again.
Race 3: CRYSTALGEM TROPHIES, GRADE 5 - 460m
FIRE FLY SMURF was marginally slow to begin. Through the first turn, GLENDENNING was tightened for room and checked. HARA’S DASH, which was trailing, collided with that runner and was checked. Entering the back straight ZABDON VEYRON was tightened for room and hampered. Rounding the turn out of the back straight, CAMBLA FLASH collided with another runner and was severely checked.
CAMBLA FLASH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no significant abnormalities were found.
Race 4: TYRE SOLUTIONS, GRADE 5 - 460m
At the start, all runners with the exception of ELLY BYE BYE were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. SOX THE FOX lost considerable ground as a result of this incident. Rounding the turn into the front straight HIGH WATER checked off heels.
SOX THE FOX underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 5: GREAT NORTHERN, MIXED 3/4 – 460m
ALLEGRO DOTTIE and MACQUIRE were marginally slow to begin. Entering the first turn, all runners with the exception of ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE and DODGY CREDIT were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. Entering the front straight, MACQUIRE checked off heels.
Race 6: REALWAY PROPERTY CONSULTANTS, GRADE 5 – 550m
BELLIE BLUE and DIAMOND ROBYNE were marginally slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the back straight SANDSHOE was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight BELLIE BLUE checked off heels.
Race 7: COUNTRY CUP SEMI-FINAL, OPEN – 550m
NAUGHTY NALA and BETTA BE BUNDY were slow to begin. Entering the turn out of the front straight, HARA’S SKYLAH checked off heels and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight, NAUGHTY NALA commenced to give ground and took no further part in the event. Entering the back straight KATHERINES MONEY checked off heels and lost ground. Entering the front straight FOXY FIREBALL and TINKIE’S MY MUM bumped.
NAUGHTY NALA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a right hind gracilis tear. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Race 8: UNCLE RUSTY’S PHOTOS, MA5 – 460m
WILBY AWESOME was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight, SMOOTH JAKE commenced to give ground and took no further competitive part in the event. Rounding the turn into the front straight MAMMA’S BOY checked off heels.
SMOOTH JAKE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a sub-lumbar muscle strain. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Summary Scratchings: Race 3: WILD CONNECTION, Left front leg, 10 days. Race 7: FIRE FLY JAKE, Ineligible, Incorrectly drawn in heats.
