Race Reports

 

Race 1 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MAIDEN – 366m

 

At the start, SPRING PHOENIX shifted inwards and collided with NOIRE DREAM, EYE HATE CAKE and LITTLE MISS LISA, resulting in those runners to be checked to varying degrees.  Over the concluding stages of the event, NOIRE DREAM was tightened for room and checked. 

 

Race 2 – BRICK LAND BREWING CO NOVICE – 366M

 

SPRING RUSSELL was slow to begin. 

 

Race 3 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND 5TH GRADE – 366M

 

Shortly after the start, LITTLE LIVEWIRE was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards.  JAYCEE’S LADY, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence.  Leaving the 200m, SPRING RUBY shifted inwards and collided with AERIAL DYNAMITE, resulting in both runners to be checked.  SPRING RUBY continued to shift outwards and collided with JAYCEE’ S LADY, resulting in both runners to be checked.  Shortly after, AERIAL DYNAMITE shifted outwards, resulting in GUNNA WINK to check to avoid that runners’ heels. 

 

Race 4 – SHANE MURPHY PAINTING CONTRACTORS 5PW – 366M

 

NO MORE CAKE began awkwardly and was slow under stride.  Shortly after the start, ROYAL PLAY shifted outwards and collided with ODESSA, resulting in that runner to be checked.  Shortly after, ODESSA shifted back inwards and collided with NO MORE CAKE, resulting in both runners to be severely checked.  Also at the start, DOZER GOLD shifted out and collided with FANCY FREEL, resulting in that runner to be hampered and lose ground.  Near the 300m, ODESSA collided with another runner, was checked and lost ground.  Near the 100m, ODESSA checked off heels. 

 

The greyhound FANCY FREEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 5 – CORNERSTONE RISK MANAGEMENT MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 366M

 

Near the 200m, IRISH RIPPLE checked off heels.  Shortly after, LUCKMAN was bumped by another runner and momentarily hampered.  

 

Race 6 – SWAN PLUMBING SUPPLIES CAPALABA BEST 8 – 366M

 

Shortly after the start, CHIPPIES shifted outwards and tightened the running of PRINCESS LIGHT and VISIGOTH, resulting in those runners to be momentarily hampered.  Near the 150m, FREE SPIRIT shifted outwards and collided with VISIGOTH, resulting in both runners to be checked and lose ground.
