MISS OPPORTUNITY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a back strain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards noted his comments.

Stewards considered whether the actions of WAMBERAL BOY over the concluding stages had breached GAR 69A for Failing to Pursue. Trainer M Vincent advised stewards that the greyhound does contact its track leg in running and only trialled once prior to today’s event, and was of the opinion they may have been contributing factors. After considered Mr Vincent’s submission and viewing the patrol footage, stewards’ could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had eased prior to winning post and elected to give it the benefit of doubt.
