Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN – 431M

 

ADELINA was best to begin.  STRAIT RUM and GITCHA GLORY were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, NO CONFIDENCE and ADELINA raced tight and checked, causing ADELINA to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, STRAIT RUM was impeded and shifted wide, then raced wide through the turn into the back straight.  Leaving the top turn, ADELINA checked off heels and checked into CELTIC FEAR, causing both those greyhounds to lose ground.  STRAIT RUM, which was trailing, collided heavily into both greyhounds, with all three greyhounds losing considerable ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, STRAIT RUM and CELTIC FEAR checked, resulting in CELTIC FEAR becoming unbalanced and losing ground. 

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL – 431M

 

MAYWYN WISHES was clearly best to begin, DAM THE MAN was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, BLUE JAY JAY, IVY’S BOUQUET and EYE HATE CAKE all raced tight and checked, with all losing ground to differing degrees.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, BLUE JAY JAY was impeded and shifted in.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, DAM THE MAN was impeded and shifted out. 

 

Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE – 431M

 

HONEY BE GOOD was best to begin, MAYWYN’S NOMAD and EYE LIKE CAKE were marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, MAYWYN’S NOMAD and BRASS ROAD collided, causing MAYWYN’S NOMAD to lose significant ground as a result.  ROYAL PLAY and EYE LIKE CAKE raced tight over the concluding stages of the race. 

 

The greyhound MAYWYN’S NOMAD underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 4 – ALPHA 390 FINANCE 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M

 

BRAVE ULYSSES was best to begin, EGYPTIAN SPOT was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, GALWAY BLUEBIRD and PARIS QUEEN checked, causing PARIS QUEEN to shift out.  ALPHA RHEA, which was trailing, collided into PARIS QUEEN and lost considerable ground as a result.  Shortly after, EGYPTIAN SPOT collided into ALPHA RHEA, with both greyhounds losing significant ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, THUNDER OF FIRE was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound GALWAY BLUEBIRD underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 5 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

 

MAGIC CODE was clearly best to begin.  CLICK COWAN and ALPHA HESTIA raced tight and checked on a number of occasions in the 1st turn, resulting in CLICK COWAN losing ground.  Approaching the top turn, CLICK COWAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ROSDUE MISTY, WILDASH SEMI and AL BRUTON raced tight over the concluding stages of the race. 

The greyhound WILDASH SEMI underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 6 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 4TH GRADE – 431M

 

STAR RISE was best to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn, VALKYRIE BLUE checked off heels, shifted out and collided into THAT HOUDINI, which in turn collided into SMART WERINA, causing VALKYRIE BLUE and THAT HOUDINI to lose ground, and SMART WERINA to lose substantial ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, STAR RISE was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound SMART WERINA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

RATAJKOWSKI and OFF THE DECK were both best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, VANDERWEGHE was impeded and lost momentum.  CHIPPIES and LA BAMBA checked at the 1st turn, with LA BAMBA shifting wide as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, LILLY PILLY LASS checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  CHIPPIES raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  LILLY PILLY LASS and FOXY BE GOOD raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.

 

Race 8 – GJ WALSH & CO BEST 8 – 431M

 

GITCHA HUMMIN’ and NO MORE CAKE were both marginally slow to begin. Leaving the 1st turn, CAKE IT ON shifted out checking ROYAL PRIZE, causing ROYAL PRIZE to lose ground.  NO MORE CAKE raced very wide through the turn into the back straight.  In the top turn, CAKE IT ON checked off heels and lost ground.  CAKE IT ON and ROYAL PRIZE raced tight and bumped on a number of occasions through the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 9 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 431M

 

 NASH TATO was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, ASTIN’S WARRIOR was impeded and lost momentum.  NASH TATO raced wide in the back straight.  NASH TATO raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race. 

 

Race 10 – GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR 2011 – SPRING ROSE 5TH GRADE (3) – 431M

 

DOREAS was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, LEST WE shifted in and checked ROSDUE KIRRA, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose momentum.   APOLLO’S WARRIOR raced wide in the back straight.
