Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 431M

 

SONIC BOOM was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, BUD’S MILLAR shifted out and hampered the running of WILD MAN.  Through the 1st turn, SONIC BOOM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  COCONUT LASS raced wide in the back straight and again in the front straight.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, BUD’S MILLAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, SPRING PHOENIX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, WILD MAN and SONIC BOOM collide, resulting in WILD MAN to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 431M

 

NEVER QUIT and BUD’S KNIGHT were slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, TRY THIS ON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, BLUE THUNDER BUD and TRY THIS ON collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, BLUE THUNDER BUD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, TRY THIS ON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, and for the majority of the straight, BUD’S KNIGHT shifted out and marred the running of TRY THIS ON, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.

 

The greyhound TRY THIS ON underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound, BUD’S KNIGHT, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound being stood down for a period of 28 days at Ipswich , and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

 

Race 3 – WWW IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN FINAL – 431M.

 

SKYDIVER was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, SKYDIVER and IVY’S BOUQUET collide.  In the back straight, SKYDIVER and IVY’S BOUQUET collide. 

 

Race 4 – ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE – 431M

 

Shortly after the start, FLASH MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn, FLASH MAGIC and ZIPPING CRONK collide.  At the same time, BROKEN YOLK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.   Rounding the turn into the back straight, BROKEN YOLK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, FLASH MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground, ZIPPING CRONK, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound FLASH MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 - WWW IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M.

 

Approaching the 1st turn, all greyhounds, with the exception of CAIRNLEA ROCKET and ARFA SHOW OFF, raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees.  As a result of this incident, NASH TATO, SPRING COLLEEN, BRAVE ULYSSES and BAILEY BE GOOD all lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, CAIRNLEA ROCKET and ARFA SHOW OFF collide, resulting in ARFA SHOW OFF to be checked and to lose ground.  HAD BETTER DAZE, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, BRAVE ULYSSES and BAILEY BE GOOD collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound BRAVE ULYSSES underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

BROTHER TREVOR was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, REACTOR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  LILLY PILLY LASS, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

Race 7 - WWW IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 431M

 

Shortly after the start, SHAKEY RANDLE and VAQUERO collide.  Leaving the back straight, KYLE THE TANK and MAGIC CODE both were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, VAQUERO and SASSY OAKS collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. 

 

Race 8 – BUTCHER CO BEST 8 – 431M

 

PRECIOUS SAL was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, SNOWBALL OTTO, RAZZIAI RAIN and LITTLE ACH CEE were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, ROSDUE SHAKA was tightened for racing room and lost ground. 

 

Race 9 - WWW IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M.

 

Shortly after the start, all greyhounds, with the exception of DOREAS and BERGARI, raced tight, resulting in all being checked to varying degrees, with DEBREE BONUS and ROSDUE KOLA being the worst affected.  Through the 1st turn, RUSSIAN ROULETTE and PARIS QUEEN collide, at the same time, SPRING WINE and SPRING ANGEL collide.  Entering the back straight, RUSSIAN ROULETTE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING WINE, SPRING ANGEL and DEBREE BONUS, which were all trailing, were checked as a consequence. 

 

Race 10 – MALE TRAINER OF YEAR 2009 – RICHARD NELSON 5PW – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn, LITTLE LUCK, SPRING THIEF, SIAMESE DREAM and MISS FERNANDO were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground, with LITTLE LUCK and SPRING THIEF losing considerable ground.  In the front straight over the later stages of the race, SPRING THIEF became unbalanced and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound SPRING THIEF underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LITTLE LUCK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
