Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN – 431m

 

TECHNO’S GLORY was best to begin, SONIC BOOM was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, LADYLIKE GRACE and STORM POWER collided, causing STORM POWER to become unbalanced and lose ground. In the 1st turn, STORM POWER shifted in, which caused HARA’S SHADOW to be tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lose significant ground as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, STORM POWER and WY YUNG FLOODS checked, causing WY YUNG FLOODS to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, FROSTY BLACK JAY shifted wide, causing HARA’S SHADOW, which was racing to its outside, to race wide as well.  Approaching the top turn, STORM POWER was impeded, then raced wide through the turn, losing ground as it did.  FROSTY BLACK JAY shifted wide, then raced wide through the turn into the front straight, causing HARA’S SHADOW, which was racing to its outside, to also race wide. 

 

The greyhound HARA’S SHADOW underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING NOVICE – 288M

 

DENNY BLUE was best to begin.  HEADSPIN began very awkwardly and was severely unbalanced after the start, then stumbled losing significant ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Approaching the top turn, WALLOON MOO improved onto the rear of MASTER SHADOW, causing it to become severely unbalanced and fall, taking no further competitive part in the race.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight, RED BELLY BLACK improved into the rear of DENNY BLUE, became unbalanced and lost ground.

 

The greyhound HEADSPIN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound WALLOON MOO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE – 431M

 

OH SHE GLOWS was best to begin.  HOPE SAID was tightened for racing room immediately after the start, checked and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn, FARMOR INFERNO checked into WAZZA SAID, then shifted out and collided with HARA’S SURF, causing HARA’S SURF to lose considerable ground.  HOPE SAID, which was racing to the outside, was inconvenienced and also lost considerable ground.  HOPE SAID and ZAFONIC SPIRIT raced wide through the turn into the back straight. Entering the top turn, WAZZA SAID improved onto the rear of OH SHE GLOWS, became severely unbalanced and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  OH SHE GLOWS was severely inconvenienced as a result of that contact and also lost substantial ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, HARA’S SURF was tightened for racing room, became unbalanced and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  OH SHE GLOWS, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound HARA’S SURF underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 4 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M

 

PIRATA was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, PIRATA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the top turn, PIRATA improved onto the rear of DOREAS, stumbled and lost ground. 

 

Race 5 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

 

DEBREE BONUS was best to begin, CLICK COWAN was slow.  At the 1st turn, the entire field, with the exception of DEBREE BONUS and CLICK COWAN, raced tight and checked, with OUTBACK MANDRAKE and MASTER BULLET losing ground and checking again shortly after.  Approaching the top turn, CLICK COWAN was impeded, checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

Race 6 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 431M

 

Prior to the beginning of Race 6, the race was delayed by one (1) minute, as SOLO MISSION proved extremely difficult to box.  Subsequently, the greyhound SOLO MISSION was declared hard-to-box for future events.

 

VAQUERO was best to begin, SOLO MISSION was marginally slow.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, SKYLARK BROOKE and MAM’S MAGIC checked, causing MAM’S MAGIC to lose ground.  Shortly after, SOLO MISSION improved onto the rear of MAM’S MAGIC, became severely unbalanced and lost significant ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, MAM’S MAGIC was impeded, checked off heels and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound SOLO MISSION underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Connection to the greyhound, SOLO MISSION, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory performance, with the greyhound required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

 

Race 7 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE – 431M

 

COUNT WERINA was best to begin, AL BRUTON was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn, LUMINESCENCE and COUNT WERINA collided, causing COUNT WERINA to shift out and check into ELUSIVE ARROW, which was racing to its outside.  APACHE VILLA, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, COUNT WERINA and APACHE VILLA checked, causing COUNT WERINA to lose momentum.  Leaving the top turn, ONE EL was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

Race 8 – GJ WALSH & CO BEST 8 – 431M

 

SHADOW COURT was slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, FOXY BE GOOD and DATA BASE checked, causing DATA BASE to shift out.  GO LASSIE GO, which was trailing, checked off the heels of DATA BASE and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  AIM and HARA’S FLAME, which were trailing, were severely inconvenienced and lost substantial ground.  Leaving the top turn, FOXY BE GOOD and DATA BASE collided, causing both greyhounds to become severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, FOXY BE GOOD and DATA BASE checked and lost further ground.  At the turn into the front straight, FOXY BE GOOD, DATA BASE and HARA’S FLAME checked and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound GO LASSIE GO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – OWNER OF THE YEAR 2012 – HAZELGROVE PTN MA5 – 431M

 

STAR RISE was best to begin, ZILLIE BEAN was slow.  Immediately after the start, GUY FAWKES shifted in sharply, which severely inconvenienced CAPTAIN’S KNOCK, which was racing to its inside, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.  Shortly after, ZILLIE BEAN, which was trailing, collided heavily into the rear of CAPTAIN’S KNOCK and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  FRUIT ZAFONIC and STAR RISE both raced wide through the turn into the back straight. 

 

The greyhound ZILLIE BEAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found
