Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | MAIDEN | 431 M

 

WINSOME TARA was best to begin. TUTA SINGLE ONE was impeded immediately after start, shifted in and lost ground as a result. At the first turn MITCHELL JOHN and CHEWING SHOES checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, LOW IMPACT checked off the heels of WINSOME TARA, lost substantial ground and took no further part in the remainder of the race. CHEWING SHOES and FROSTY BLACK JAY raced extremely wide into the turn to the back straight. At the top turn TUTA SINGLE ONE checked off heels and lost ground. CHEWING SHOES and FROSTY BLACK JAY raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING | NOVICE | 431 M

 

BROKEN YOLK was best to begin. STYLE COUNTY was checked immediately after start and lost ground. At the first turn STYLE COUNTY shifted in and collided with REPEAT SET and BROKEN YOLK causing all greyhounds to check and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, STYLE COUNTY was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost considerable ground.

 

STYLE COUNTY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

  

Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | 4 /5 GRADE | 288 M

 

FABTHOR and ZINCHENKO were best to begin. TOO MANY BILLS was marginally slow. Approaching the first turn TOO MANY BILLS and BRIGHTEST STAR checked causing both greyhounds to lose ground. ZINCHENKO raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 4 – DOVER & SONS | 5TH GRADE | 431 M

 

STAR RISE was best to begin. Approaching the first turn ROSDUE GYPSY was tightened for racing room and checked off heels, losing significant ground as a result. DODGY ETHAN and ROYAL PLAY collided heavily racing into the first turn, resulting in ROYAL PLAY losing substantial ground and taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter. ROSEDUE GYPSY which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost further ground.

 

Race 5 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | 5th GRADE | 431 M

 

ELLY BYE BYE and LOGAN’S RUN were best to begin. At the first turn WILDASH TOM, DEBREE BONUS and HAVANA BLACK all checked, resulting in DEBREE BONUS and HAVANA BLACK becoming severely unbalanced and losing substantial ground. Approaching the top turn SPRING COLLEEN was impeded, checked and lost momentum. WILDASH TOM raced wide through the top turn. Approaching the turn into the front straight, ELLY BYE BYE and LOGAN’S RUN checked. WILDASH TOM raced very wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 6 – ADVENTURE TOURISM AUSTRALIA | 4 /5 GRADE | 431 M

BLACK PLAY was best to begin, ZILLIE BEAN was very slow. At the first turn GALLON, SPRING ROY, PLUM JAM, SHE’S A SHORD and ZIPPLING CLARK all raced tight and checked, with GALLON and PLUM JAM losing significant ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the back straight GALLON shifted out then checked off heels, losing considerable ground as a consequence. Leaving the turn into the front straight SHE’S A SORT shifted out and checked into BACK PLAY. Shortly after SHE’S A SORT deviated its attention to the greyhound racing to its outside.

 

 

Race 7 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | 4 /5 GRADE | 520 M

 

FIRE TO RAIN and ROSDUE SHAKA were best to begin. Leaving the first turn BALLYMAC JAY and EMPIRE REIGN checked. BALLLYMAC JAY shifted out wide in the back straight.

 

Race 8 – GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON | 5th GRADE | 520M

 

GYPSY WILD was best to begin. FRENDZ began awkwardly and was marginally slow as a result. Shortly after SEDUCTIVE SMILE was tightened for racing room and lost ground. In the first turn, NOT TOO BOSSY and WILD ROCK HAYZE checked, resulting in NOT TOO BOSSY losing momentum. Approaching the turn into the back straight, NOT TOO BOSSY checked off heels, become unbalanced and lost ground. Approaching the top turn, FRIENDZ shifted in and checked into GYPSY WILD, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. At the same time SKYLARK BROOK shifted in causing SEDUCTIVE SMILE to be impeded and lose momentum. DARBY’S GIRL raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

An even start. Leaving the first turn SPRING REINA and JETTA KNIGHT bumped.

 

Race 10 – GREYHOUND OF YEAR 2016 - HARRY BAILEY | 5th GRADE | 431 M

 

INVICTUS CLIVE was best to begin. At the first turn ROSDUE KOLA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight SPRING EAGLE was impeded and lost momentum.
