Ipswich Greyhounds

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM Maiden H  Grade M  431m

Shortly after the start, THIS KISS and TWISTED MISCHIEF collided. Through the first turn, ANGRY ANGUS, SWISH SWISH, PARIS ROSE and SPUR ON all received interference and lost ground. THIS KISS which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. SPUR ON raced wide in the back straight, and again in the front straight. In the front straight during the latter stages of the race, THIS KISS and PARIS ROSE collided.

PARIS ROSE - underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 2 – SKY RACING Maiden H  Grade M  431m

PRETTY WOMAN was slow to begin. Through the first turn, IT ALL CHEEKY and LADYLIKE GRACE collide, resulting in LADYLIKE GRACE to be checked and lose ground. BEAUTIFUL NIGHT, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight, BEAUTIFUL NIGHT commenced to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, INVERGARRY MISS commenced to give ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight, IT ALL CHEEKY and NATURAL BLUE collided, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked. PRETTY WOMAN, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and raced wide.  

BEAUTIFUL NIGHT - underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Subsequently, BEAUTIFUL NIGHT was charged under Rule 69 (A)(i) for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment, and was stood down from racing at Ipswich for 28 days, until it can complete a satisfactory trial.

INVERGARRY MISS - underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM Maiden F  Grade M  431m

MY BRO FREDDO was marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start, CENTIGRAM was tightened for racing room and lost ground and collided with BIG MOUTH, which resulted in both greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, SPRING IRIS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground. GOTCHA GIFT, CENTIGRAM, BIG MOUTH, and MY BRO FREDDO, which were all trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground. Entering the front straight, BOTANIC MISTRESS shifted out and collided with CENTIGRAM, resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.

SPRING IRIS - underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Race 4 – ALPHA 390 FINANCE  Grade NOV  431m

Shortly after the start, BIG POM and WERINA ROCKET collided. Shortly after, EYE LIKE CAKE was tightened for racing room and lost ground. WERINA ROCKET, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. In the turn into the back straight, MASTER SHADOW was tightened for racing room and lost ground; MALLY’S NOVA and REDEAL, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight, EYE LIKE CAKE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

Race 5 – DOVER & SONS  Grade P5  431m

Through the first turn, WILL EYE AM and PARIS QUEEN were both tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, COUNT WERINA was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the back straight, LA BAMBA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

Race 6 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM  Grade 5  431m

Through the first turn, TAKE HOME SADIE and DODGY ETHAN collided, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. ROSDUE MATAO, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Entering the back straight, DODGY ETHAN checked across heels and collided with ROSDUE MATAO, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.

Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS  Grade 5  520m

ROSDUE GYPSY slipped on the mat shortly after  and lost ground. Shortly after the start, BERGARI and CELTIC FEAR collided, resulting in CELTIC FEAR to be checked and lose ground. ONE EL began slowly and was hampered in the early stages of the race. ONE EL was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

Race 8 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM  Grade 3/4  431m

Shortly after the start, GYPSY’S WISH and MISS FERNANDO were tightened for racing room and lost ground. Through the first turn, BACK PLAY was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight, CAKES ALL ROUND and SAMURAI PIZZACAT collided, resulting in SAMURAI PIZZACAT to be checked and lose ground.

Race 9 – GJ WALSH & CO  Grade 4/5  431m

Shortly after the start, THAT HOUDINI and DO THAT PHOEBEE were both tightened for racing room and lost ground. Through the first turn, KULU SPARROW, EL ROMANO and ROSDUE SHAKA were tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight, KULU SPARROW and THAT HOUDINI collided, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Shortly after, ROSDUE SHAKA checked off heels and lost ground.

Race 10 – MALE TRAINER OF YEAR 2007 – COLIN BYERS  Grade 5  431m

Shortly after the start, SPRING ANGEL and EYE HATE CAKE collided. Through the first turn, ROSDUE MISTY and ALPHA HESTIA were tightened for racing room and lost ground. At the same time, BROKEN YOLK and EYE HATE CAKE were tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight, JETYRA BUCKSKIN was tightened for racing room and lost ground.
