Track was turned yesterday (Monday 8th April 2019) to a depth of 60mm.

 

Race 1 – Greyhound Adoption Program | Grade M | 431m

Captain Cordner – checked approaching the first turn, and again at the first turn, losing substantial ground as a consequence.

Winx Rose – severely checked at the first turn and lost substantial ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Tick Fire Boom – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Jo Jo – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Loose Lips Jack – checked at the first turn and lost ground. Checked off heels approaching the top turn and lost ground.

Make Way There – inconvenienced at the first turn and lost momentum.

Spring Lance – severely checked at the first turn, fell and took no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the back and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Race 2 – Sky Racing Maiden H | Grade M | 431m

Euroa Barney – severely checked at the turn into the back straight, and lost significant ground.

Pretty Woman – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

City Gent – best to begin.

Reveal – impeded at the first turn and lost ground.

Botanic Mistress – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Haigslea Rose – slow to begin. Began to drop out of the race from the back straight onwards, losing any competitive chance in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Hugs Help Cloud – checked approaching the turn into the back straight and lost considerable ground.

Stewards spoke to licensed trainer Mr John McCarthy about the improved performance of his greyhound City Gent. Mr McCarthy stated that he’d been working on improving the greyhounds’ box manners, which in its previous starts had begun poorly. As a result, today the greyhound had significantly improved in that regard and therefore had contributed to its better showing in the race.

Medellin Lad – best to begin.

Val’s Boy – checked with another runner leaving the first turn and lost ground.

Stack Up – slow to begin. Collided with another runner at the first turn and lost ground.

Winsome Ethan – checked off the rear of another runner leaving the first turn, was severely checked by other runners and lost considerable ground. Improved onto the rear of other runners and lost substantial ground approaching the turn out of the back straight.

It Ain’t Wazza – slow to begin. Checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Spring Napa – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Mrs. Sing – quick to begin. Severely checked leaving the first turn and lost substantial ground. Was severely inconvenienced by another runner approaching the turn into the back straight and lost further substantial ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 4 – Alpha 390 Finance | Grade NOV | 431m

Hope Said – raced tight and checked with another runner on a number of occasions approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground.

Jimary Bobcat - raced tight and checked with another runner on a number of occasions approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground.

Spur On – slow to begin. Impeded at the first turn and lost momentum.

Ike’s Girl – was inconvenienced and lost significant ground at the first turn.

Alpha Eleni – severely checked at the top turn and lost substantial ground.

Provoker – best to begin.

Mia’s Karmar – slow to begin.

Race 5 – Dover & Sons | Grade P5 | 431m

Darby’s Girl – slow to begin.

Ladylike Grace – checked off heels leaving the first turn and lost ground. Raced tight and bumped with another runner on a couple of occasions over the concluding stages of the race.

Ailla – raced tight and bumped with another runner over the concluding stages of the race.

Alpha Rhea – began to yield ground from the back straight onwards, finishing a substantial distance from the rest of the field. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

Oh She Glows – best to begin.

Shakey Randle – raced tight and checked with another runner through the first turn and lost ground.

Not Too Bossy – shifted out and collided with another runner leaving the turn into the front straight, became unbalanced and lost ground.

Kyle The Tank – raced tight and checked with another runner through the first turn.

Oxley One – collided with another runner leaving the turn into the front straight and lost ground.

Spring Ritchie – slow to begin.

Race 7 – Trembath Tyre Repairs 5th Grade F | Grade 5 | 520m

Defy – collided into the runner to its outside at the first turn, stumbled and lost ground.

Brindi Chopper – best to begin. Collided with the greyhound racing to its inside at the first turn, became unbalanced and lost significant ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Anjalie – marginally slow to begin. Impeded shortly after the start and lost momentum.  

Race 8 – White Rose Boarding Kennels | Grade 3/4 | 431m

Alpha Hestia – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Prater’s Promise – severely checked at the first turn and lost considerable ground. Impeded approaching the top turn, came into contact with the running rail and lost ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Cakes All Round – best to begin.

Cyn’s Magic – inconvenienced at the first turn and lost momentum.

Boyz One – checked off heels at the first turn and lost ground.

One For Mick – checked off heels leaving the first turn and lost considerable ground. Immediately after,was severely inconvenienced by another runner and lost substantial ground.

Stealth Karmar – checked off heels leaving the first turn and lost considerable ground.

Spring Thief – checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Alpha Daenerys – slow to begin. Collided into another runner leaving the first turn and lost substantial ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Willy Toula – best to begin. Checked at the first turn and lost ground.

Race 10 – Giddy Up | Grade 5 | 431m

That Houdini – impeded leaving the first turn and lost momentum.

Catch Me Keith – best to begin.

Rathnait – slow to begin. Impeded leaving the turn into the back straight and lost momentum.

Count Werina – shifted wide through the turn into the front straight.
