General: Trainer Michael Edwards was fined $200 under LR35(9) which reads - If a greyhound is sold, leased or transferred after the submission of a nomination, it shall be deemed to have been sold, leased or transferred with its engagement. The particulars being, the greyhound Crown Ella which had been engaged to run in race 8 today had been transferred to Townsville therefore was unable to fulfil its engagement and was scratched from today’s event.

Race 1 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 431m

 

1 Our Girl Misty – Into the 1st turn was checked across heels. Through the back turn was severely inconvenienced by Chasing Bucks which shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have injured its nearside pin and was stood down from racing for 21 days.

 

2 Boleyn Babe – Slow to begin, through the back was bumped becoming unbalanced.

 

4 Talk It Up – Shifted out abruptly on jumping away.

 

5 Jury's Out – Shortly after the start was tightened for room and was checked.

 

6 Jackie's Star – Shortly after the start was tightened for room and was checked.

 

7 Chasing Bucks – Shortly after the start was tightened for room and lost ground, leaving the 1st turn shifted wider becoming momentarily awkward almost contacting the outside fence. Through the back turn shifted out colliding with Our Girl Misty then failed to pursue the lure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have injured nearside wrist and was stood down from racing for 10 days. Stewards advised trainer Kerry Ollerton that Chasing Buck would be penalised under R69B for Failing to Pursue by reason of injury, requiring the greyhound to complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing but only after the 10 day stand down period has expired.

 

 

 

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 431m

 

3 Bogie Bam Bam – Into the 1st turn was bumped becoming unbalanced.

 

4 Pop Smoke – Into 1st turn shifted of heels contacting the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

5 Good Charlotte – Into the 1st turn suffered interference losing momentum, rounding the home turn checked across heels.

 

6 Rosetta Miss – Shortly after the start was tightened losing its position, into the 1st turn was hampered and lost ground.

 

8 Harlan Marlin – Shortly after the start shifted in abruptly colliding with Rosetta Miss

 

9 Shian Gypsy – Slow to begin, into the 1st turn was tightened for room as lost momentum.

1 Miss Neisha – Shortly after the start was bumped becoming momentarily unbalanced, into 1st turn was severely inconvenienced and checked when it collided with the fallen Manuka Duck.

 

2 Madison's Keys – Into the 1st turn was in convenience when held up by the fallen Manuka Duck.

 

4 Manuka Duck – Into the 1st turn was severely checked and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

5 Euroa Avondale – Into the 1st turn was in convenience when held up by the fallen Manuka Duck.  

 

7 Patricia's Pride – Approaching the back turn became momentarily awkward and shifted out shortly after was inconvenienced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

8 Auriga Lucille – Through the back turn checked across heels.

 

9 Zulu Cougar Through the back shifted out bumping Patricia’s Pride.

 

 

 

 

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS NOVICE (1) 431m

 

1 Descend – Through the 1st turn was held up for clear running when Babylon Boomers shifted in.

 

4 Gun's Son – Shortly after the start was bumped becoming unbalanced, raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

6 Ruby's Angel – Into the 1st turn was momentarily inconvenienced when improved onto heels.

 

7 Babylon Boomers – Bumped shortly after the start becoming unbalanced.

 

8 Spring Montana – Raced wide throughout

 

9 Quick Flick – Slow to begin.

 

 

 

 

 

Race 5 - BEENLEIGH LEGAL NOVICE (2) 431m

 

1 Silent Torpedo – Into the 1st turn was bumped becoming unbalanced.

 

3 Summer Breeze – Into the 1st turn was tightened for room and lost ground.

 

6 Mickey Two Rums – Slow to begin, into the 1st turn improved onto heels losing momentum. Into the back turn improved onto heels and was checked losing ground.

 

7 Fernando Blaze – Slow to begin, into the 1st turn improved onto heels losing momentum. Into the back turn was severely checked losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

8 Imagine That – Raced wide for the entire event.

 

9 Allonsy To Paris – Into the 1st turn was inconvenienced and lost ground.

1 My Bro Benji – Into the 1st turn checked across heels losing its position.

 

3 Mali's Missile – Into the back turn was taken wider by Bod Character which shifted out.

 

4 Paved In Gold – Into the back turn was tightened and checked across heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have injured its offside pin and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

5 Cisco Sniper – Into the back turn was tightened and checked across heels

 

7 Extra Coins – Raced wide throughout.

 

 

 

 

 

Race 7 - BODHI INK TATTOO GALLERY GRADE 5 (2) 431m

 

1 Zulu Express Through the back turn turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with Zenithar. Stewards spoke to trainer Corey Mutton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners through the back turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zulu Express was charged with marring 1st offence and suspended for 28 days at Ipswich and must perform a satisfactory trial before racing next.

 

2 Big Pom – Into the 1st turn was improved onto heels and shifted out bumping Dynamic Trav.

 

3 Zenithar – Took the back turn awkwardly, shortly after suffered interference when Zulu Express marred its running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

5 Stevo's Bad Boy – Into the 1st turn was crowded for room and checked losing ground.

 

6 Dynamic Trav – Into the 1st turn was inconvenienced when bumped by Big Pom

 

7 Black Magic Mojo – Through the 1st turn was bumped becoming unbalanced.

 

8 Stay Warm Zac – Raced wide throughout

 

 

 

 

 

Race 8 - TAB MIXED 4/5 431m

 

1 Mitchell John – Into the 1st turn was inconvenienced when checked across the heels of Sumatran Star. Race wide middle and late stages.

 

3 Deneholme Dasher – Slow to begin, approaching the back turn was tightened by My Purple Rain which shifted in.

 

4 Sumatran Star – Into the 1st turn was crowded for and was severely checked losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have injured its offside hind back muscle and was stood down from racing for 28 days.

 

5 Aerobic Tank – Raced wide throughout.

 

9 Angry Angus – Began awkwardly, into the 1st turn improved onto heels and raced wide from that point.

1 Tyrant Duck – Slow to begin, approaching the back was checked across heels when Spring Balto shifted in.

 

3 Spring Balto – Leaving the 1st turn raced in restricted room and lost its position.

 

7 Fearless Fergie – Slow to begin, through the 1st turn collided with Ebony’s Reject becoming unbalanced.

 

8 Ebony's Reject – Slow to begin, through the 1st turn collided with Fearless Fergie becoming unbalanced.

2 Elusive Gift – Through the back turn improved onto heels and lost momentum.

 

3 Frosty Flame – Slow to begin, raced wide throughout.

5 Spice – Into the 1st turn improved onto heels losing its momentum, raced wide throughout.
